  • "A beautiful property in a beautiful location, plenty of room for all 9 of us and everything we needed to make our stay memorable."

John, our host, was more than helpful and would come to sort out any problems without any fuss. I would certainly recommend this property to anyone who wants a large venue for a peaceful, relaxing break. Ten out of ten.

  • "We had an amazing two weeks at this delightful cottage in the heart of Hampshire."

All those on the farm made us feel very welcome and we felt very much at home. The cottage is excellent for a family get-together, very comfortable and with room for everyone to find their own space. The garden is very safe for children and a lovely place to spend a summer evening, with ample picnic tables and a bbq corner. Watching the swallows and starlings gather to roost in the evening, picking blackberries, hearing the horses clopping past from time to time - and wonderful public footpaths to the village shop and pub, as well as farther afield. Although it appears to be in the middle of nowhere, the location is actually only about half an hour by car from very well-known sites such as Salisbury, Old Sarum, Stonehenge, Beaulieu and of course the New Forest with all its ponies and wildlife. We hope to return in the future - many thanks to John and Irene and all the people we met.

Only one shower with hot wayer for 10 persons. We have not seen or spoken to the owner. Never paid the deposit and could not say goodby when we left. The house itself was very nice. Everything we needed was there (exept a hose for the vacuumcleaner, we cleaned with a broom, worked as well). Furniture was more than ample, beds comfortable, bathrooms were clean. We had a lovely stay in West Titherley and a good and quiet holiday.

  • "Wonderful property in a lovely area and John the owner was very accommodating."

We booked our stay for my sisters 30th birthday with some friends and we had a great time. The property is beautiful (we felt it was even nicer than the pictures) and all rooms were clean and spacious. The property also had an enclosed garden so our dog could run around. My only negative feedback is that the curtains are quite thin so great for if you’re happy to wake up with the rising sun but less so if you would like a lie in. There was 7 of us staying but we could’ve comfortably housed a few more. We hosted some extra family for lunch on the Saturday and they all wanted the details to be able to stay again. We ate a roast at the Greyhound in Broughton which I would also recommend.

  • "Delighted with the property, perfect for a friends weekend."

Two enormous group rooms - the photos do not do the space justice. What a fantastic large dining table! It was very cold weekend, but the house was lovely and warm - amazing for such a large space. Beds again warm and appreciated blanket on each bed. Nice to be greeted by the owners. Lovely area for walks and local pub owner even drove a few of our group as it was getting dark! Close to lots of places to visit if you want a longer break . Any feedback? another shower would be really beneficial - 2 showers across 11 people is not really adequate, especially as limited hot water to use baths - fine for a weekend break. A couple more t towels, dish cloths again for a large house. Put basic house information in one book - couple of walks, pubs etc as we had to search it out from a lot of old leaflets. A coffee machine! We will probably return as we liked it so much !!

  • "An extremely spacious and bright holiday cottage, perfect for a weekend get together of 10 female friends."

We made great use of the large garden too, being extremely fortunate with summer weather in October. The main point of our visit was to catch up with friends, but we did enjoy local walks from the cottage, including to the Greyhound pub in Broughton for Sunday lunch - highly recommended. Otherwise we ate in, enjoying the choice of eating spots, including the picnic tables in the garden. Owners were lovely - unobtrusive but available for any queries. Only tiny improvement suggestion we could think of would be a few more mugs for when the dishwasher is running and instructions on adjusting the heating - we were too hot, given the lovely weather!

This was the nicest place we’ve visited so far. We were blessed with marvellous weather which always makes a difference but the tranquil and secluded surroundings were ideal. Very well equipped older style property with lots of character and features, it had everything we needed and we felt incredibly comfortable there. The hosts introduced themselves, made sure all was as expected, were friendly and available but not intrusive. Plenty of room to dine/sit/play games together as well as spaces to have a bit of quiet time away from the group if you wanted. Beds were comfy and multiple bathrooms were a bonus. We booked Sunday lunch at The Black Horse; a fantastic meal and the landlady was so kind to offer to walk to our property after her shift to return the payment card we had left there by mistake, we were able to collect it but it was a very nice gesture by her. This complimented the impression we had of the property and its location. Just lovely. The only thing that gave us a slight niggle was an uncomfortable sofa but that may be down to personal preference. Due to the sunshine we spent a lot of time in the garden, we would’ve made use of cushioned lounging furniture. All in all we had a wonderful stay in the perfect setting for us to relax, reconnect and refresh!

Within easy distance of Salisbury with the Cathedral, Museums, Aviation Centre, etc., and an excellent standard of pubs in the area! There was plenty of space to cook and eat and just chill downstairs and the dog was happy with her bed next to the fire too! The bedrooms weren't huge but perfectly adequate and plenty of bathrooms. • "The property was perfect for a weekend away."

Comfortable beds and living areas with lots of seating and a very large dining table. Good size kitchen with lots of pots, pans and cutlery, although some of the baking trays we found were quite greasy. The inside fairy lights were a lovely touch and gave the rooms a nice cozy atmosphere. Lots of parking spaces near the house. The house was very clean but we noticed a few places were quite dusty (the extractor fan in the downstairs shower room and the roof rafters, for example). Guests have no control over the heating - when we arrived the owner gave us the option to have the heating on all day or just at certain times. We opted for all day but we ended up being too hot and needed to turn off some of the radiators. The local pub, The Black Horse, is highly recommended and has great food and is only a 20 minute walk away.

As people have mentioned in the past the floors do Creek and grown a lot. Everything in the property is fine and works well we all found the beds a little soft. The only thing is we found the kitchen reasonably well equipped awkward to use when we arrived all of the cutlery and plates had marks on them so we ended up washing everything up before we used any of it. The central heating was turned permanently in to the off position once I spoke to the owner he very kindly turn it on so that we could have a warm house in the mornings. It really is a lovely property and not necessarily in the best location for walking animals. It’s in a good location for sightseeing it’s very private and quiet.

Always friendly and cheerful. We felt the photos didn't convey the reality. The garden is small, not the large lawn! The bedrooms are smaller than they looked in the photos. The wooden floorboards creak . . . the small bedroom also houses the water tanks - so noisy. The building is full of character, the kitchen well stocked for cooking. We enjoyed sitting round the kitchen table preparing food and chatting, long walks round the estate and beautiful woods and took a trip to Salisbury to see the panto. We truly had an amazing time and would definitely come back. Some previous reviews have mentioned the lighting, this wasnt an issue for us, there was also mention of not enough hot water but again, we all showered/ bathed and we never ran out. Other reviews have mentioned the rather limited directions to the property. Agree that the lighting in the lounge and dining room whilst making for cosy and intimate was a bit too dark on occasions. The property has 4 bathrooms which is good but only two of them have showers (the other bathrooms have baths) and only one shower is electric with the result that one morning after 2 baths taken the non- electric shower ran cold. Would have liked an information folder with manuals and explaining about rubbish collection etc. And worryingly there was no information on recycling. There will almost certainly be lots of bottles and milk cartons to dispose of at holiday accommodation and this needs to be addressed.

There is a green lane adjacent which leads to a little used tarmac lane which takes you to the village shop and the Black Horse pub with a choice of footpaths to return on. We all went to Mottisfont Abbey, National Trust, and Salisbury, both half an hour at most. Could have gone to Winchester but we pottered around Stockbridge which is a delight. • "The cottage was ok - the description was accurate in terms of the basic facilities - numbers of rooms etc."

The owners had gone to a lot of trouble to put lots of flowers / hanging baskets outside (watered daily) which looked lovely. However, everything inside was just a little more basic than I would have liked / expected in a rental costing me more than £1500 per week - I don't think it would take a lot of investment to improve the experience substantially - a few examples: - the kitchen is equipped with a collection of cast-offs (yet has a (presumably expensive) range cooker). There are only stainless steel pans - no non-stick ones. There are whisk fittings for an electric whisk, but no electric whisk, etc - the beds are ok but could be a good deal more comfortable, the bed linen / towels are ok, but you would not call them luxurious - the lighting throughout the property is provided by a somewhat confusing mix of table lamps and spotlights with light switches hidden in odd places The wifi/broadband is patchy (although that's probably BT's fault rather than the owners') We gained some amusement by trying to work out what angle had been used to take the photo of the property - to create the impression of a spacious lawn and a property standing on its own (in reality the dairy is part of a collection of old farm buildings with a smallish (pleasant) patch of grass / patio in front) We still enjoyed our holiday, but I would not regard it as "value for money" - I think the price is set at a premium level that the equipment of the house does not match up to.
