  • "Very well set up."

Served our purposes very well, visiting family and exploring the area. Very mixed wether over this New Uear, so the Mews was a very good comfortable retreat for us.

Thank you for this review which is much appreciated. We're glad you found The Mews Cottage comfortable over New Year despite the mixed weather. We would love to welcome you again. Best wishes Manor Cottages Property Owner

  • "We really liked the cottage and enjoyed our stay."

Very comfortable bed and nice to have such a big bathroom. The kitchen diner was also roomy and well equipped. Although the TV was small it wasn’t a problem and we were very pleased to have the fans as it was a warm week. Personally I would have preferred less clutter/ornaments in the living room. Lack of WiFi probably no bad thing once in a while! Larger towels would have been good though!

Thank you so much for your appreciative feedback, it is so good to hear kind words from guests. The Mews Cottage is instended to be a home from home rather than a hotel type accomodation and therefore some of the furnishings are antiique pieces from my own home. I am happy if others can enjoy them. I will look in to the towel situation, thank you so much for the suggestion. Kind regards Diana (owner) Property Owner

  • "Reading the reviews I was rather worried but the complaints were totally ridiculous."

Lovely bedroom and comfortable bed and super hot water. Sitting room small but both sofas comfortable and although TV screen is small who comes away to watch TV. Kitchen spacious and well equipped. Noise minimal from next door club. Road less noisy than I thought it would be and great location. If it is a little 'fusty' just open the doors and windows and enjoy the patio and fresh air

Thank you for this lovely feedback which is much appreciated. We're delighted you enjoyed your stay and found the cottage to be comfortable and well equipped. We would love to welcome you again. Best wishes Hideaway Cottages Property Owner

  • "Kettle needed descaling."

Pillows hard, but this issue was rectified. Smaller sofa uncomfortable. No mention that cottage attached to a working men's club, which was particularly noisy on one or two evenings!

Thank you for your comments. The housekeeper has confirmed that the pillows have been replaced and the kettle has been descaled. We hope you were able to enjoy your stay. Best wishes HideAways Property Owner

  • "This is a very comfortable little cottage, which is well located in the town and in the area generally."

It has car parking which is a big bonus. It was also quite well equipped, albeit for two people. It is, however, a little tired and basic - the TV is very small, and the carpets and floor coverings a little “dusty”. The decor and furnishings are very chintzy and dated, and not to everyone’s liking. And the shower is pretty useless….. I also think it is rather expensive for what it is But it is comfortable and served our purpose is very well, and it is dog friendly, which is a big plus for us.

Thank you for taking the time to provide this feedback. We're glad you found the cottage to be comfortable and well located. We will pass on your comment regarding the shower to the owner - thank you for bringing this to our attention. Best wishes Hideaway Cottages Property Owner

  • "Lovely cottage, warm, welcoming, uncomplicated and as expected!"

Very happy it was dog friendly. The lack of wifi was fine, we took our own moble wifi dongle, off 4g worked fine to catch up on work emails! Was terrible weather, but the cottage was so cosy to return to, so was a real weeks' respite. Easy to communicate with local contact who was there if needed, otherwise left to own devices, with plenty of helpful advice in welcome pack in cottage.

Thank you so much for your positive and helpful feedback. It is a pleasure to know that guests are happy in the Cottage and enjoying the cosy and friendly accomodation that it offers. Hopefully you will return, it is intended to be a home from home. Property Owner

Parking space should be clearly marked as the area for the cottage was not always available WiFi is a must if we are to consider a repeat booking A non-slip bath mat would nice (for peace of mind) when showering

Thank you very much for providing us with your feedback. We are sorry to hear of the experience you had staying at The Mews Cottage. The property does have its own parking space, but we have been informed that this was taken by someone who should not have parked there during your stay. The property not having Wi-Fi is mentioned in the description which can be seen before you book. It is equipped with a non-slip bathmat. • "The cottage has some damp issues as some parts of the walls were flaking & it smelt damp."

The French doors could not be opened because of rotting woodwork. The view from the front window was marred by rubbish from the Benet Hotel, which to be fair the caretaker had asked them to remove. We have stayed in better for less & feel it is in need of a refurbishment. However its location in the village for shops, pubs & walks was very good.

Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback on Mews Cottage. The owner has arranged for the property to be checked. They are aware of the rubbish from the hotel and have been in contact with the County Council to try and get this resolved. We apologise for any inconvenience caused. Property Owner

  • "Lovely, snug cottage."

Facilities were all as described. Only downside were the sofas, they are rather worn and very low and we both struggled to get up. Delightful to light the log burner and enjoy the quiet. Although there is no WiFi we did get reasonable mobile reception upstairs.

Thank you for your feedback on The Mews Cottage, we will pass your comments on to the owner. Lighting log burners is a wonderful thing to do and we are glad you were able to enjoy this. Property Owner

  • "In general the cottage was fine but it felt really damp."

Also think the sofas could be replaced as very uncomfortable. Also on arriving at the cottage looked out the window just as a rat ran across the path!!!!!!!! Not the greatest start, apparently the pub that the cottage is joined to did have a rat problem which was supposed to have been dealt with, we did only see the 1 rat but that was enough.

Ideal for exploring wiltshire and Dorset. Absolutely no bother from the pub next door. Tisbury is one of the friendliest villages I have ever been to. Only criticism is the patio doors need some work on them so they can be securely locked.

  • "We stayed here for one week which just happened to coincide with Tisbury's annual carnival."

The cottage is perfectly situated in a quiet mews just off the High Street and the town. Though small, it has everything you need for a good holiday. The cottage itself is delightful - cosy, warm, clean and well equipped. The owner's personal touches make it feel very homely. Lots to see within easy driving distance, and some lovely local walks. We particularly enjoyed our visit to Old Wardour Castle which is about ten minutes drive from Tisbury.

  • "We have really enjoyed our week in your beautiful, cosy and homely cottage."

The location is great and everything is within a short stroll. Lots to do and see; train service to Salisbury was excellent and Old Wardour Castle is worth a visit. We easily re-couped our National Trust subscription in the week! Thank you for the helpful advice and cards on arrival (and we did enjoy the Carnival!). Best regards.

  • "The Mews Cottage in the heart of the gorgeous town of Tisbury is clean, comfortable, well equipped, quiet and a great base for country strolls in all directions."

A private car parking space was an added bonus. We could not have chosen a better location for the final week of our UK holiday. Day trips to Dorset & the Jurrasic Coast, Blenheim and Portsmouth were easily achievable and of course some of Wiltshire's key attractions (Salisbury and Stonehenge) are very close by! • "The Mews is a beautiful cottage, beautifully renovated and very comfortable."

I have been there already two times, and when I saw it on TripAdvisor I couldn't miss to write a review! The cottage is perfectly located: 5 minutes' walk from the train station and two steps away from the supermarket (and don't miss the delicatessen store!). You can't miss the Mews: it is so charming and cosy that I can wait to go back there for the third time next autumn! You can't miss it!

The bed was very comfortable and the decor throughout the cottage is delightful - clean & fresh throughout. The village of Tisbury has every amenity even though it's quite small.

With light and sunny south-facing rooms, you’ll have a great view of all the local comings and goings from the upstairs windows.

Outside there is a garden area with decking at the front of the cottage and there are endless walks right from the front door.
