  • "Accurate description and a pleasant stay."

Clean and tidy but minimal equipment with no frills. Stairs are dangerous with narrow treads and difficult to negotiate not suitable for the elderly.

  • "Lovely cosy cottage ideally placed for the amenities of the village and visiting the area ."

Only one comment - there was no hairdryer or mirror in the main bedroom for doing hair and makeup . Otherwise would recommend this cottage - really loved the large garden and being able to access the common to walk to the village without walking along the road .

  • "The tiny cottage is in a great location just a few minutes walk into Corfe where there is a castle, a variety of gift shops, pubs and galleries."

The closest pub with beer garden and good food is almost opposite. The cottage has a good back garden that leads onto a field with footpaths in either direction. There is furniture to sit and enjoy during good weather. The cottage itself is small and with steep wooden stairs that would not be suitable for families with small children or for elderly guests. It is an old property that could benefit from an upgrade. During our stay the washing machine did not work and the toilet flush had no suction. We couldn’t close the curtains in the front room because the bracket holding the pole was only just holding on. One of the single beds collapsed when sat on. Whilst these issues did not affect the overall quality of our holiday, it was annoying having to repeatedly call the management team to arrange for someone to come out and repair where possible. The washing machine was never fixed and the toilet remained a problem. This could be a great property however, maintenance and modernisation is required.

  • "I was bit worried before arriving at tavern way, parking, as we had 2 cars thought we might have trouble with one of them but was able to park outside cottage, other worry was stairs as read so many comments about stairs, yes they are steep but no where near as bad as I was expecting, you just take your time going up and down."

This cottage is in a perfect spot, field at back of garden which you can enter from garden and from there you can reach many walks, with 2 dogs it was ideal as didn't have to go out front of house which sits on busy road, nit that it's a problem as pavements with many zebra crossings. The cottage is equipt with all you need, it's very clean with nice furnishing, beds comfy with lovely bedding, could have done with sheet as duvet was hot. Double bed room as no mirror which is needed, the other room as many so take one out of there to put in double room. But that's the only fault I can come up with. The garden is super long and perfect for dogs and as it was lovely sunny weather was good for humans, could do with better seating in garden, the metal chairs at table are OK for short spell but get uncomfortable, some more plastic chairs are needed. We luckily bought from home some fold up chairs. All in all this is a little gem of a cottage, perfectly situated for walking and site seeing, highly recommend and love to come back one day.

The south facing garden was nice but garden furniture inadequate only one sun bed and cushion locked away. Other garden furniture was metal with no cushions. No bbg. Smelly compost heap 1st the bottom of the garden. No outside tap for muddy dogs and boots.Location good in village with good field for dog walking at bottom of garden. Didn't stay the whole week due to stairs and garden facilities.

  • "I think that the holiday cottage was good value for the money we paid."

Great location. Comfortable sized rooms. Simple pleasant decor. The garden was amazing (couldn't really use it because of the time of year) and we loved the access onto the common behind. Parking worked well. The secondary glazing kept most of the traffic noise out. Other than that it is very quiet. A small thing - we would expect there to be a hair drier provided. Our one issue was with the access to the first floor. The old stairs have been removed and the new access is basically more of a ladder than a staircase. It was very awkward especially at night. There is a solution. A new bespoke joinery made staircase with a 4 winder section at the bottom could be made and fitted - this would significantly reduce the pitch of the current 'ladder' and enable an adequate tread to each stair. Worth getting a couple of companies in to look at this. I know it would not be cheap but it would make a huge difference to the property? Anyway, we had a very enjoyable stay at Tavern Way, thank you.

The Traffic noise was obtrusive and the bedrooms ill-ventilated, but I do understand that there is not much you can do about this. Otherwise it was very comfortable and so convenient for the delights and facilities in the village. The garden and access to footpaths was much appreciated by out dog.

Two bedrooms, open plan lounge and dining room, galley kitchen and bathroom all work well. Our stay coincided with sunny weather so breakfast in the garden was an added bonus. The garden is large, dog friendly and secure. Having said that, an animal looked to have attempted to dig its way out and under the garden gate while we were there

They should of been a non-slip matt on the floor from the shower, as I have a disability with my right knee. I found it difficulty getting in and out of the bath due to where the tap was. The traffic was was constant and we had to have to bedroom window open so found it hard to sleep. The garden was lovely and well maintained, it was good to have a parking space outside the house. The property is on the busy main road leading eventually into Swanage but we knew this at the time of booking, so having the bedroom windows open at night wasn't really an option for us. However we found keeping the curtains closed in the bedrooms all day helped to keep the rooms a little bit cooler. . In this modern era I would have assumed that there would be a small ice box as standard in the fridge but sadly no. This was a little inconvenient as the weather was very warm on some of the days and this would have been a real benefit for freezing ice packs for picnics to take to the beach etc. along with some Ice lollies for the grandchildren we had with us. It is a small compact kitchen so no room for a freezer. Other than the afore mentioned we had a thoroughly enjoyable week.

Ideal for dog walkers. And the village itself is well provided with pubs and an excellent village stores. However the main road which runs past the front of the house is very noisy and meant we had to have the windows shut even on a warm night. The stairs are really steep, as mentioned by previous reviewers. I was surprised to find there was no freezer compartment in the fridge - a nuisance when I had ice packs to freeze for our picnic bag. I was impressed by the service received from Dream Cottages. I contacted them with a few minor issues, and these were dealt with promptly and courteously. And they even brought me some pegs so I could hang out my washing!
