  • "Very tired property and cleanliness somewhat cursory."

The outside area might be more inviting if it was cleaned up - table cover filthy. Maintenance lacking- ants in shower due to missing grout. New outside door noted to give a good impression. Shame the rest didn't make the same impression.

  • "An amazing place right in the centre of Wells."

We loved our stay at the house, a great base to explore Wells and Cheddar Gorge from. Would def stay again. Thank you!

  • "Lovely little place in a great location."

The house is well decorated and put together. In terms of feedback if staying over a week it would be good to have a vacuum cleaner available for downstairs carpet. The kitchen could do with a better set of pots and a nice set of mugs to match the decor of the house. Other than that the house had everything we needed and private a lovely base for our family during our stay in wells. Thank you

  • "The location of the house is excellent with easy access to the city itself."

However the downstairs of the house is barely functional, almost like student accommodation in being very white and bright (quite stark lighting). The living room could do with with a softer standing light and a nest of tables / coffee table (been said before by other guests). I'm afraid the settees get quite uncomfortable if sat on for some time, (bad weather etc). Also the kitchen left much to be desired - uncomfortable dining seating, no lighting above hob, oven could do with a good clean, knives need sharpening, freezer needed defrosting, very little storage space for groceries. Bedrooms were fine, very clean and beds comfortable with good views from the windows. It's shame because Wells is a lovely city and well worth revisiting but we won't be using this cottage again as an enjoyable daytime living space is a top priority with us.

  • "Really lovely cottage in a fantastic location, right in the heart of Wells, only a few minutes walk from the market place and a Waitrose just 3 minutes walk away."

Numerous good restaurants and gastropubs within a short walk. Wells itself is lovely, especially the Bishop's Palace gardens, and was a great base for exploring the area. Would recommend a walk up Glastonbury Tor which gave fantastic views over the surrounding area and a visit to Dunster in particular.

  • "The house is in a great location and within easy reach of the centre of Wells and many wonderful restaurants and the cathedral."

It is very close to St Cuthberts church and unfortunately the clock strikes every hour even during the night! This forced me out of a front bedroom into the back room and into a bunk bed! A coffee table and a standard lamp in the lounge would make a great improvement. The house is close to the bus station and supermarkets and I would definitely book again.

  • "Fantastic accommodation."

Clean, comfortable. Such a nice place and very convenient for shops, restaurants etc. Walled patio ‐ so pretty. "Housekeepers" were very helpful. Highly recommended.

  • "Priest Row was exactly as described and in a perfect location in Wells for all local amenities."

We would have appreciated a coffee table in the sitting room (there is space enough) and more ambient lighting in there but that is being super picky about a lovely cottage.

  • "This is a lovely house in a splendid spot opposite the church of St Cuthbert and really only 5 or 10 minutes walk from the city centre and cathedral."

Their is a Waitrose and other supermarkets nearby and two pubs just on your doorstep. the house is a narrow townhouse on three floors; the courtyard although small was large enough to sit in and have a drink or dinner. We very much enjoyed our stay. A few small issues that could be easily rectified were : the children’s room really needs blackout curtains as the sun pours through the thin curtains in place. The bedding and beds are mostly very comfortable but the bunk beds have hard mattresses for old backs! Also, given the cost of the stay it would have been helpful and pleasant to have a few more essentials for cooking such as utensils, sharp knives, clothes pegs, washing powder etc and perhaps even a small welcome pack with milk. The very basics are there but we had to buy quite a lot and we didn’t eat in much at all.

  • "We had a lovely stay in Wells the cottage was very central with two nice pubs serving food a stones throw away."

It was very clean on arrival with milk and a few basic food items left for our use. You are right opposite a church with lovely grounds and this is very nice. The cottage only has one bathroom in the middle floor we were a family of five so from time to time we had a bit of a queue forming but we managed. The stairs are very steep and may not be suitable for older people or those with very young children. The only negative about our stay was the church bells they do sound every 15 mins day and night. As it was so hot during our stay windows were always open making this a little annoying during the night however by day 2 I think you get use to it. Other than that fantastic place in a great location would recommend to a family or couple who wants to explore the beautiful area of Wells.
