    “The only downside was the amount & noise of the traffic on the road.”

    To be fair it went quiet by 11 p.m. With the windows open it was difficult to hear the TV (it was too hot to have the windows closed).

The property

Located in the pretty seaside town of West Bay is a homely and well-presented ground-floor apartment that provides a perfect base from which to explore the spectacular Jurassic coastline in Dorset.

Entering the property into the hallway, this two bedroom apartment is set all on one level and consists of a double room and a twin bedroom, as well as a well equipped kitchen, offering everything you need to rustle up a tasty meal to enjoy at the dining table.

The spacious living room is the perfect place to unwind after a busy day exploring all that the town has to offer, boasting an electric fire to add a little warmth on those chillier evenings, whether you are settling down in front of the TV to catch up on your favourite shows or simply enjoying some quality time with your loved ones whilst planning your holiday itinerary.

There is a family bathroom consisting of a bath with overhead shower, basin and WC.

Embark on a leisurely stroll around West Bay, which is famous for its location and scenes in the TV series Broadchurch, and enjoy sights of a busy fishing harbour with the noise of the fishermen landing their daily catch to be heard whilst you relish in the delicious smell of fresh fish and chips and sea air.

You can also head straight out for a day on the beach, ideal for relaxing on a summer’s day, taking a refreshing swim, or building sandcastles with the little ones before sampling the local ice cream.

You won’t need to travel far to enjoy a day out, with many restaurants, eateries, pubs and shops to discover, all a short walk from the property, great for stocking up on snacks, as well as spending an evening away from the kitchen for a meal out.

If you wish to travel further afield, an easy drive can bring you to all of Charmouth, Lyme Regis and Exmouth off to the west and Burton Bradstock, Abbotsbury, The Isle of Portland and Weymouth to the east.

The quirky and colourful town of Bridport is within a two mile walk, where you can explore the weekly vintage market for crafts, antiques and little trinkets to take home with you, whilst the bustling seaside resort of Weymouth is a short car ride away, boasting attractions including SEA LIFE Centre Weymouth, Nothe Fort, Sandworld, and Weymouth Beach with a wealth of watersports to choose from.

West Bay, fondly known as “The Gateway To The Dorset Jurassic Coast” and popularised by the TV series Broadchurch, lies close to the glorious sandstone cliffs of Golden Cap, at the western end of the dramatic pebbly Chesil Beach. This is a wonderful seaside location, perfect for family holidays, offering scenic walks along the South West Coastal Path, as well as ample opportunities to try your hand at sea fishing, golf, fossil hunting, boating. Visits the homes of Thomas Hardy and TE Lawrence, The Tank Museum at Bovington or the Naval Air Museum at Yeovil. Only 1.5 miles away is the vibrant market town of Bridport, featured in the TV series, River Cottage. The area holds plenty of attractions to suit the whole family!
