“Surprised how much there was to do around the Bay.”

Found some great little finds along the coast such as Beer (not the drinking kind!). If you are going to West Bay, check out the Station Kitchen and Rise restaurants as well as the little fish and chips huts around the Harbour and the Windy Corner Cafe right under the apartments. plenty to do, shop and eat in West Bay. would definitely go back

“Lovely apartment in Dorset overlooking the beach.”

Clean and tidy on arrival and useful that they supplied fresh tea towels, sponge, j-cloth, bin bag and washing up liquid as well as a few dishwasher tablets so you don’t have to buy during 7 day stay. Comfortable stay as plenty of space, quick access to west bay facilities all within walking distance so you can leave the car in secure underground car park until end of holiday if you didn’t want to explore the coast further afield. Get sun on balcony from about 2pm and sunset is lovely to watch whilst enjoying bottle of wine on comfy balcony furniture. Plenty to do including paddle boarding from the east beach, rib rides from harbour, river kayaking and rowing boats on River Brit behind the harbour (get to see Broadchurch Detective’s riverside chalet from boat) as well as coastal walks to east over the ‘Broadchurch’ cliffs to Chesil Beach or west over the cliffs to Eype and Golden Cap near Lyme Regis. Incidentally several external areas around the apartment block were used to represent the Broadchurch police station if you enjoyed the TV series. Nearest supermarket is Morrison’s 2 miles away in Bridport but can pick up bits in Spar if don’t want to use the car. Restaurants limited due to Covid with several closed or just doing takeaway but we knew that would be case and apartment had all equipment in kitchen to enable full meals to be prepared so we had best of both worlds as cooking was easy with those lovely sea views.

“Delighted with apartment which we found very comfortable.”

It is tasteful, bright and nicely appointed and in an excellent location. It was also nice and warm. The lift was very important to us as one of our party has mobility problems. Parking was convenient and secure. We enjoyed people watching on the balcony. I would happily return to this apartment again and have no hesitation in recommending it - stayed June 2016.

A sociable living area with kitchen and tall breakfast bar stools give plenty of option to spend your breakfast.

Plan your day out and explore the area. Set in a perfect location to explore surrounding countryside and the coast, the apartment is right on the South West coastal path.

Visit Lyme Regism Charmouth and Golden cap to the West and Abbotsbury with Swannery and tropical gardens East.

Villages of Burton Bradstock and West Bexington may be of interest too with lovely thatched cottages. A lovely day out could be a trip to seaside town of Weymouth with its sandy beach and many attractions on the promenade and in the town centre.

The kids will love a Punch and Judy show as well as donkey rides. Greet the morning with the sun glinting off the sand cliffs of the sea as you lie in your bedroom and enjoy your stay and exploration of Dorset off the perfect base – West Bay apartment.

WEST BAY

Bridport 1.5 miles; Lyme Regis 7 miles.

West Bay, fondly known as “The Gateway To The Dorset Jurassic Coast” and popularised by the TV series Broadchurch, lies close to the glorious sandstone cliffs of Golden Cap, at the western end of the dramatic pebbly Chesil Beach. This is a wonderful seaside location, perfect for family holidays, offering scenic walks along the South West Coastal Path, as well as ample opportunities to try your hand at sea fishing, golf, fossil hunting, boating. Visits the homes on Thomas Hardy and TE Lawrence, The Tank Museum at Bovington or the Naval Air Museum at Yeovil. Only 1.5 miles away is the vibrant market town of Bridport, featured in the TV series, River Cottage. The area holds plenty of attractions to suit the whole family! Just a short drive takes you to the picturesque seaside resort of Lyme Regis, the lovely sub-tropical gardens and swannery at Abbotsbury, or the golden sands of Weymouth.
