  • "If you know people that are coming want to use the hot tub it may be an idea to have it ready for them, it took over a day for it to warm up for us, which means we only had one days use of it."

Couple of garden chairs would be nice so you can really enjoy that wonderful view.

The bins have not been emptied and smell, no day stated when to put them out, and finally light for bathroom mirror not working.

The rooms were very clean along with all the kitchen and bathroom. Situated in a stunning vista it’s a place to unwind and appreciate the views. The hot tub was very welcome and inviting at the end of the days with no issues once switched on and left to heat up. Taking an 85 and 91 year old was not challenging at all given the room inside the property and the comfort of the seating and beds. Once again they loved their time there they are planning next years holiday to linden Lea. I would highly recommend the property and thank the owner personally for a fantastic memory.

The bungalow was very clean when we arrived and smelt lovely . The views from the kitchen window was fab and also when in the garden you can see the sea . The hot tub was fab we really enjoyed using it . Only thing that was slightly awkward was plugging in the hot tub as the shed could do with a sort out to make that easier , also the shed doesn’t smell the best . This doesn’t take away the fact that this place is amazing and it has everything you need for a great stay . The owner was super helpful too when I wasn’t sure about a couple of things .. I would definitely stay here again !

  • "Unfortunately this cottage did not love up to expectations, we've stayed in many Sykes properties before and have never had a problem!"

The cottage is dated, in need of a deep clean throughout, the bathroom and toilets were not good at all. Food was on the floor when we arrived. The cctv was on permanently and covered the hot tub too. We were looking forward to using the hot tub on our last evening but when we got neck it had been turned down to 23 degrees so therefore was to cold to use! The garden shed was extremely unpleasant, rats have clearly been there and their urine was in on the furniture therefore garden barely used! Such a shame as great location and could be an amazing cottage! Disappointed all round.

  • "We have been visiting Dorset for a number of years now and I must say the Linden Lea is one of the best places we have found, pictures don’t do it justice to just how spacious this place is the bedrooms and kitchen are massive."

We did have a small problem on the first day when we didn’t have any hot water, but a phone call to the owner and a plumber was there to fix it within an hour, and the owner couldn’t apologise enough, these things happen but the owner went above and beyond to fix it. There is now a well illustrated book explaining the hot tub and the heating system. I would highly recommend the George a 5 minute drive away on the west bay roundabout, excellent home cooked meals at a good price. Will definitely look at staying again next year and thank you letting us stay at your beautiful home.

The position of the bungalow was superb and Chesil Beach within a few feet away. We hadn't realised that there was nowhere to walk and had to use the car to visit other locations. Nevertheless we found two superb restaurants right on the doorstep and would recommend these venues for meals.

The accommodation was beautifully presented in a stunning location, the cottage was clean and the welcome gift well received. The rooms were bright and comfortable and the garden a welcome bonus that was well kept and maintained and the hot tub a perfect way to wind down after a busy day. The whole experience was positive and already looking at dates for our next visit there. The only thing I would perhaps look at would be a hand rail to assist on the few steps to the door but this is a minor issue. Our thanks for making a couple of old sisters very sprightly and planning their agenda on our return with the swannery and sub tropical gardens in near by Abbotsbury on the list. Mr C

  • "The barbecue was filthy, thick in grease and left over bits of food from a previous guest."

We contacted the owner to let him know and he was quite dismissive, told us to turn it on, let it heat up and then it should clean off easily enough. We have stayed in a number of sykes holiday homes over the past 5 years and have always left the properties how we would like to find them. However, i do not expect to have to clean up other peoples mess, especially while we are on holiday! We always book a property with a hot tub, and very much look forward to relaxing in it on our first night. This was not possible at Linden Lea as the hot tub was not turned on prior to our arrival, we had to do it when we arrived and it needed 7 hours until it could be used. This was very disappointing and I feel that this could easily be remedied by it being turned on when the house is being prepared for the arrival of new guests. Also, there were several cameras in the property that appeared to be working throughout our stay. The red light was visible and each time we passed it it clicked. On our last night we also spotted a camera in the garden, pointing at the hot tub. I feel that this was an invasion of our privacy, and made us feel very uncomfortable. There were no visible signs to state that cctv was in operation. I feel that all future guests should be advised about this prior to their stays. As much as i appreciate that the owner wants to protect his property, this is unacceptable and not even sure if it is legal.

It is a lovely property in a perfect location. A new hot tub was installed while we were there which came as a surprise because we hadn’t been warned and arrived back to find workmen in the garden who thought we knew they were coming. We were slightly disappointed that we couldn’t use the hot tub that night as planned as it had been a lovely warm day and we had been looking forward to it, however it didn’t spoil our holiday and the new tub is a big improvement on the old one.
