Also the outside light didn’t work. The flap jacks were absolutely lovely and when the power tripped Megan was very quick to sort it. The wildlife was amazing. We would certainly be back and bring friends with us.

It's the perfect place to go If you want a quiet holiday. There was everything and more that you need while staying in this lodge. I honestly can not wait to go again. Our puppy felt at home and lived every minute there. We ended up travelling all over. Ie: Bournemouth. Southampton. Isle of wight it was a holiday I won't forget. We even managed to get lost 3 different times in the woods. Always make sure you have your phone with you.

It was bigger than we expected and much more comfy. It could benefit from a bit of a softer bed but that is my preference. Otherwise we couldn’t fault it. Great location, lots of walking close and a very good country pub close enough to walk to. Loved it, would certainly recommend.

The woods are fantastic for dog walking and exploring and the New Forest is only a stone throws away. The lodge itself is fantastic - so quaint and cosy. Perfect for a short getaway over a long weekend. I'd highly recommend staying as Megan and Tim are wonderful hosts. We loved the lemon drizzle cake that we tucked into Friday evening - what a treat!

  • "Little Farley is a lovely cottage on the edge of Bentley Wood which we found very relaxing and we had some enjoyable walks in the woods with our 2 miniature schnauzers."

We did however find the downstairs accommodation a little chilly in the evenings. (it was the end of October) For some reason the heating thermostat has been positioned in the bedroom just above a double radiator. This meant that in order to get any heat downstairs the thermostat needed to be turned right up thus making the bedroom a little like a sauna. This is not a complaint, we had a lovely week, more of an observation.

  • "We had a very good week at Little Farley, helped by the wonderful weather!"

The cottage was lovely and was more spacious than we expected with a large bedroom upstairs, a well equipped kitchen area and a nice place to sit outside and relax. Upstairs, especially the shower, might be a bit challenging if you are tall or large but it suited us fine. The woods nearby cover a huge area and there are lots of paths to explore. We saw deer several times and there were lots of interesting fungi to study. It was also a good time to go to Stonehenge, because the number of visitors was limited.

  • "We have just got back from our stay in Little Farley and can honestly say we had the most relaxing and lovely time."

The cottage is situated perfectly with huge woodland right outside your back door, this was perfect for our dog and it was lovely to just wander with just the sounds of birds to accompany you. The cottage was beautiful, clean and very homely, it's a great base to explore the local area from and we would most defiantly recommend to anyone who's considering booking. Even the local horses and livestock are pleased to see you and seem to welcome you, along with the wild Deer that pop up to say hello, a little gem in our countryside, if it's peace and quiet and a relaxing time you're after then you won't go far wrong. Clean, serene, and a lovely experience. The only problem was the lamp upstairs didn't work, but apart from that I cannot fault this listing or cottage in any way! Homemade cakes were amazing and some of the best I've ever had, and all information that was needed was provided.

The woods are amazing, the dogs loved it! We walked miles and saw large herds of deer on every walk. The cottage itself is exactly as described, beautifully furnished and very cosy. Lovely extra touches like homemade cakes on arrival and nice shower gel/soap in the bathroom. Megan the owner happened to be outside when we arrived and was exceptionally friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend Little Farley to anyone wanting a peaceful, cosy, high quality holiday cottage.

Only little complaint was that the lounge was quite chilly whilst upstairs was really warm but with plenty of throws on the sofa it kept the cold at bay. If you want to cut yourself off and take some lovely walks, this is the place to go. I will definitely be booking again.

  • "Our much needed break at Little Farley was very relaxed and tranquil - just what we wanted."

The surroundings were idyllic, with countryside views to one side (which you can see from upstairs or out in the main garden) and the beautiful Bentley Woods to the other, which we walked the dog in every day whilst deer spotting! The road the cottage is on is very quiet as it's private access only, so only the odd vehicle once in a while which you can hear coming - the dog didn't go on a lead once as we felt he was very safe at this location (he is also very reliable for not running off and coming when called). A trip out to Salisbury market and the cathedral was lovely and not very far. The cottage itself is well equipped and finished to a good standard with a touch of charm and perfect for two people. Would recommend that nature lovers take binoculars for getting a closer look at the deer, plus I also spotted the rare honey buzzard out in the field beyond the garden! We would also recommend booking through Sykes - accurate listing and really good communication leading up to our holiday. We hope to book the bigger lodge next door with other family members next year!

We booked the cottage initially as it was advertised as near to cycle routes. It didn't disappoint the 24 runs by the exit from Bentley Woods (the woods in which the cottage is situated). WE cycled to Sailsbury (frequently) Stockbridge with its wonderful eateries, Winchester and Romsey.. We loved every second of our holiday, Thank you.

  • "Lovely cottage, in a excellent location, ideal for visits to Salisbury, Winchester, places of interest and for walking."

Enjoyed walks in the ancient woodland, across the track from the cottage and saw deer there most days. The cottage was thoughtfully furnished to a high standard and there were many additional touches, fresh flowers, homemade fairy cakes, tea/coffee and milk in the fridge, as well as blankets and toiletries (something you would only expect to have if it was a B&B, not self catering) The track to the property was better than we thought it would be on arrival and this track had some maintenance while we were staying (pot holes filled). The ceiling heights upstairs were a little challenging (and we are only 5’ 6”) the shower would be a little snug to a larger frame of a person, downstairs we found not enough heating, it was cold in the evenings, We were disappointed that the outside area was not as private as we would have liked.

It is nicely furnished and is a joy to come home to after a day out. The patio area is totally private and sheltered. We were there during a very hot week. Downstairs was constantly cool (we kept the curtains and blinds closed while we were out). Upstairs got hot during the day, but we opened up the windows each evening and it soon cooled down. There’s lots to do in the surrounding area. We enjoyed visits to National Trust properties, Salisbury Cathedral, Stonehenge, the New Forest, a trip to Portsmouth to see the Mary Rose as well as walks in the woods nearby. An enjoyable week - highly recommended.

You can tell a lot of time and effort has gone into making it the way it is. The area is perfect, slap bang in the middle of Bentley Woods. Herds of deer wandering around in numbers exceeding a hundred, as well as several different species of bird. perfect for those who just want an escape away from the hustle and bustle of daily life. Secluded enough to get away from it all, yet within a short driving distance of places such as stonehenge, medieval cities such as Winchester and Salisbury, as well as all the castles. It might well be worth while for anyone to join the national trust beforehand as you'll end up saving so much money as the area is full of NT sites. I also highly recommend visiting the UK conservation wolf trust, which is about an hour away. The New Forest is also definitely one to visit, wild donkeys, ponies and deer...and a 600 year old oak tree. Overall, a very memorable holiday. Especially considering the other half proposed to me on top of Corfe Castle!!!
