The property

Situated in the pretty village of West Lulworth, on the Dorset coast just a short walk from Lulworth Cove itself, is this delightful semi-detached cottage.

Bransmead offers a wonderful base for families and friends alike to explore the countryside, rolling hills and famous Jurassic Coast..

It is just perfect for walkers and those who enjoy the great outdoors. You enter through the front door, to a spacious hallway which leads into a brightly-decorated sitting room.

Use one of the sofas to curl up with your partner and catch up on all your favourite shows, with the open fire providing a warm ambience to the room.

The dining room is the ideal space for family gatherings over food, a glass of something chilled or to plan the day’s events.

The kitchen is wonderfully-appointed to the rear of the cottage, and has been fitted with all high-quality appliances, so you can rustle up a delicious home-cooked meal for the whole family.

The ground floor also benefits from a cloakroom and a snug area, which has a sofa and TV, the perfect place to have some quiet space, for your little ones to play in, or for you to enjoy a good book.

Upstairs there are three bedrooms: one king-size with en-suite shower room and two twin bedded rooms, which all boast lovely views across the village, with ample storage space for your personal items.

The family bathroom is on the first floor also, with a bath and separate shower, so you can decide how best to prepare for your day.

To the rear is an enclosed South-facing lawned garden and decking area with furniture - the perfect spot to sit out with a refreshing glass of wine.

It’s an easy walk from Bransmead down to the beautiful Lulworth Cove.

The protected waters here make it a great spot for young children to enjoy the sea.

The iconic rock arch Durdle Door (Dorset’s most photographed landmark) is just one of the beaches within walking distance.

You might also venture towards the picturesque Man O'War Beach or St Oswald’s Bay which are both ideal for families to enjoy a day at the beach topping up on that tan, or enjoying a relaxing swim in the water. For a taste of history, visit the 17th century Lulworth Castle, which is set in stunning landscaped parkland, offering opportunities for woodland walks, a nearby children's playground, so the whole family can be entertained here.

Discover the Castle Tearoom, where you can get a taste for delicious homemade cakes and cream teas.

The fabulous Monkey World, which spans across 65-acres and houses endangered primates is something your children will delight in and The Tank Museum at Bovington provides a great family day out.

About the location

Wareham 9.1 miles; Weymouth 14.7 miles

West Lulworth boasts some of the most dramatic geological features on the Jurassic coastline and arguably the most photographed locations in the UK. Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door sit at the heart of this area and really are a must see. Lulworth Cove has many little café’s and beachside shacks serving local seafood, ice cream and other delights, as well as several restaurants and pubs from which to choose. There is an Lulworth estate information centre which offers an insight into how the cove and Durdle door were formed and Jurassic history of the region. If you tire of Cove and cliff top walks then Lulworth Castle is a short drive away and offers another glimpse at some more recent history, along with Tyneham Village, and Corfe Castle. This is a really special area and the village retains a lot of it’s thatched cottages and has a real air of a rural retreat.
