Loved the place very clean and comfy the only problem was the radiator in the living room cold which made it really cold so had to use fire and spent a lot of money on logs

Only one drawback for people with mobility issues. The stairs are a challenge.

  • "Beautiful cottage, everything there you could possibly need."

Would have been lovely to have some loungers or cushioned chairs in the garden as the garden chairs were old, wooden and worn. The children could not sit on them safely as they tended to tip forward but the cottage and surrounding area were perfect.

Thank you for your valuable feedback, we have now bought some comfortable reclining chairs for the garden Property Owner

  • "Fresh flowers in kitchen was a lovely touch with local biscuits and tea on arrival."

A few cobwebs but it is a cottage. Only niggle was the toaster which could have done with instructions to avoid toasting only one side or burning. Overall very happy and would stay again and recommend.

  • "Really lovely property that felt so homely."

Had an amazing week. Only two small things were the upstairs shower kept going cold and the bath plug chain was broken so couldn’t pull plug out very easily. But other than that an amazing place!

  • "Lovely cottage in a great location."

Facilities were excellent. Perhaps a deeper clean in some areas would have made it a more enjoyable experience.

  • "We were blessed with good weather and we really enjoyed our stay at Forge Cottage."

Overall the comfort levels were well above our expectation levels with a really well equiped kitchen and the beds were a joy to sleep in.The only down side was the hot water or rather the lack of it;the hot taps produced a thin stream of hot water which made having a bath impossible.Improvement could be made in the shower area as well, they were rather feeble. Overall we did enjoy our stay and would have no hesitation in booking again. Regards Matt Colling.

  • "Property not cleaned to the standard as to what we expected for the amount we paid."

Cobwebs in clothing cupboards, oven hob dirty, kettle full of scale, flies in cottage constantly, bath/sink/shower taps not cleaned, air vent in downstairs bathroom hanging off the window, crumbs underneath settee cushions, toaster full of breadcrumbs. Not a good standard at all, really spoilt our holiday

We are very disappointed that the cottage was not up to the clean standard we usually provide. We have discussed the feedback with our housekeeping team. I only wish you had provided this feedback at the start of your stay as we could have sent cleaners in immediately. We will replace the fan in the downstairs bathroom as we didn’t realise it had come loose. Property Owner

  • "The holiday cottage is so nicely furnished and well equipped with everything we needed."

It was very clean and some really helpful basics like dishwasher tablets and washing up liquid were supplied, as well as some welcome goodies! Parking, location and information about Forge Cottage were all very good and we would recommend this cottage to others. The only issue was the double bed in the master bedroom. We found it rather small and definitely uncomfortable! Everything else was great, thank you.

Thank you for your valuable feedback and glad you enjoyed your stay at Forge Cottage. We are sorry that you found the bed in the master bedroom small and uncomfortable. The owner has taken your comments on board and they have ordered a new king size bed for this room. Property Owner

  • "The cottage was very cosy, clean and had great facilities."

It was perfect walking distance from the cove and from walks to Durdle door a shop and a pub. I would only recommend it possibly needs a deeper clean in the places you wouldn’t usually clean sometime soon, the kettle was full of limescale for example. Other than that we loved it!

  • "Forgee Cottage us a beautiful house in a lovely village close to the cove."

The connecting door between forge and little forge isn't very conducive to privacy and if you have a noisy family next door it would spoil the holiday. The kitchen at forge is lovely but definitely in need of a new kettle post haste!

  • "This cottage was ideally situated for walking the Jurassic Coastline."

Off road parking essential for this area and we had room for 2 vehicles. The cottage was very well equipped, clean and spacious. The garden was completely enclosed and secluded so very good for our dog. We would certainly stay there again.

  • "This cottage has a garden but it is not private and was used regularly by the children staying in Little Forge Cottage, this was not helpful for us or for our dog."

We specifically needed a garden for our dog and he was regularly disturbed and upset by the children. We had no private outdoor space which was really disappointing in exceedingly hot weather. The bedrooms were rather hot in very hot weather, that said we could not fathom why there were 10 tog duvets on the beds in July. I would not recommend this cottage to dog owners at all and have written separately to express this. It was completely unsuitable.

Thankyou for your recent feedback. We are sorry to hear that you had issues regarding the garden whilst you were staying and that you feel Forge Cottage is unsuitable for a dog. The guests staying in adjoining property are informed they do not have access to the garden. We have updated the notes on both properties to make it clear for any guests booking in the future. If you would have been able to inform us whilst you were staying at the property we could have contacted the other guests to discuss and resolve the situation. We have passed your feedback onto the Owners regarding the duvets. We are sorry you would not look to stay at this property again. Property Owner

  • "Lovely cottage but a few issues need to be sorted."

Firstly the drainage in the downstairs shower is very poor as is the sink in the upstairs bathroom. Sadly the walls to the adjoining cottage are wafer thin so every noise was heard and cooking smells linger through. Was good to have washing machine and dishwasher though,a wonderful garden also.

  • "We absolutely loved this cottage."

It was superbly equipped- fantastic kitchen with excellent glassware, crockery, cookware and comfortable seating. Lovely sitting room with stove and wood supplied. Warm & snug. Good showers & endless hot water. Comfortable bedrooms with good beds, pillows and linen. The location was ideal. Peaceful and beautifully tended garden. Our only criticism is to the windows that could not be opened, and in particular the ventilation (or lack of) in the bathrooms. Still giving 5 stars though as we had such an amazing stay and loved our time there so much. Would just recommend that the ventaxia fan is fixed in the bathroom downstairs, & the window in the upstairs bathroom is sorted out so it can be opened.

So close to the beach and a little shop for convenience. The garden is beautiful to sit out in as well. The only slight issue was there is a locked door to the next cottage in our kitchen, it was very noisy at times so would be better if it was blocked off.

  • "We were in Lulworth to complete the South West Coastal Path after 10 years of walking holidays."

Forge Cottage was the best cottage we stayed in over the 10 years which is saying something as all the others were of a very high standard too. It is in a perfect place, the house is comfortable, homely and extremely well equipped. The caretaker solved our WiFi very promptly when it stopped working. A perfect place for a perfect holiday. Thank you!

  • "The cottage was beautiful, however, the heating system and the thermostat for the 2 cottages was in our cottage (Forge Cottage) this caused a problem for the occupiers of Little Forge cottage and an inconvenience for us."

There is an adjoining door between the 2 cottages in the kitchen and despite the curtain you could hear the other occupiers talking. Apart from the above the cottage was a good base for surrounding areas and perfect to walk 5 minutes to the cove.

About the location

WEST LULWORTH

Wareham 9.1 miles; Weymouth 14.7 miles

West Lulworth boasts some of the most dramatic geological features on the Jurassic coastline and arguably the most photographed locations in the UK. Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door sit at the heart of this area and really are a must see. Lulworth Cove has many little café’s and beachside shacks serving local seafood, ice cream and other delights, as well as several restaurants and pubs from which to choose. There is an Lulworth estate information centre which offers an insight into how the cove and Durdle door were formed and Jurassic history of the region. If you tire of Cove and cliff top walks then Lulworth Castle is a short drive away and offers another glimpse at some more recent history, along with Tyneham Village, and Corfe Castle. This is a really special area and the village retains a lot of it’s thatched cottages and has a real air of a rural retreat.
