A beautiful cottage and a lovely area to enjoy stunning scenery.Thankyou too the owner for a lovely welcome pack which was very welcome

  • "This is a lovely cottage."

Everything was clean and well presented. Perfect spot for a beach holiday. Driveway is a tight squeeze, but we got two cars in leaving the gate open. Plenty of room and facilities for 6 guests. I will recommend this cottage to friends and family.

  • "Although we had a very pleasant stay in the property, we feel that the showering facility was inadequate."

The only available shower which was located in the en-suite bathroom meant the occupants of that bedroom had to be up and showered before other guests could traipse through to use the facility. Fortunately there were only three in the party.

  • "Due to Covid we were told that the property was not available until 5pm and we had to vacate at 10am."

Going to the property for 5pm was not a problem but I'm disabled and trying to get everything done by 10am was a real struggle, but we made it - just. I would very much doubt that the house had been completely cleaned. We walked in and the first thing we saw was the full dyson vacuum cleaner, so this had obviously not been sanitised and probably never been cleaned out properly and filters cleaned as it absolutely stank. Parts of the dining room table were sticky and also the worksurface. Black finger prints in dining area on walls and the picture has obviously not been washed down as finger prints all over it. House was dusty. The smallest bedroom had not been hoovered. Although we had not used it we wanted to make sure it was clean. We were not informed that the grass had been removed. This caused a problem late at night when our girls should have gone out for a wee. They would not go on the astro turf. The "garden" is totally mis described. It is basically a patio and drive and the buddleia is very overgrown. The cottage was comfortable and very well stocked with kitchen items etc. The night light on the landing was an excellent addition as well as bars of soap for the cloakrooms and dishwasher tablets. We managed to get our large car in the driveway, thankfully, as there is no other parking.

  • "There was no hot water the latter half of our stay."

We may have got the settings on the control panel wrong but we tried everything. This was a considerable inconvenience. The house had a dog smell about it that was quite noticeable. The house was not 100% clean when we arrived with dust visible in several places. The hatch to the loft looks like it’s not closed properly and looks quite precarious. It feels like it may land on your head at any moment. We left the cottage in a tidy state but we did not clean it. We don’t expect to have to clean a rental cottage on departure when it is clear that you are/should be getting cleaners in anyway.

Thankyou for your feedback and comments following your stay. Ours offices are open 7 days a week and we advise all guests to contact us if you have any issues during your stay so that we are able to address them whilst you are at the property to ensure you have the best stay possible. • "Beautiful cottage which is exactly as depicted in the listing."

The kitchen is very well equipped and each room is decorated beautifully. Our only slightly negative comment would be the parking, the garage is not big enough for any car and if you pull right up close to it you can get a second car in the garden but this leaves you unable to close the gates, this situation was not helped by the neighbouring visitors to the holiday cottage continuously parked outside their gate (despite there being signs stating no parking).

  • "The cottage was really beautifully laid out, the beds were very comfortable and all the linen and towels were really lovely."

The kitchen was fully equipped, including the Dyson. We managed to get both our cars either in the garage and on the drive. Next door seem to park their cars outside the gates so sometimes hard to reverse out. We did have a problem with flies, at first we thought they were coming from inside then realised that they were coming in through the door, so had to keep them shut which was a shame as the weather was so lovely. we used a lot of fly spray !!!! But apart from that we had a really enjoyable holiday.

Fully equipped. Slightly surprised as the cottage was a relative new build, which wasn't what we expected from a thatched cottage, hence smaller than we anticipated especially the garden.

It had everything we could have wished for and was extremely comfortable. The short walk to Lulworth Cove or much longer walks along the coast are great. The surrounding countryside has so much to offer and we had a wonderful holiday with our dogs. A special mention for Jacks Cafe and the Castle Inn pub for providing fantastic food and being dog friendly. Will be recommending to friends and family.

We had to turn the heating down as we found the cottage very warm, but, not a problem. Parking is an issue; the garage is fine for small cars and cannot fit 2 cars on the drive. I would hate to think where visitors park during the peak season. Lots of lovely walks and places to visit.

  • "We had an issue with a broken fridge after our first night."

Nobody even arrived until late in the evening as he was on another call. Once the fault was identified it was another 3 days until we recurved s new fridge of any worth. We were given a small table top fridge on day 2 but it was tiny. This is not good enough for a self catering holiday. I know it was sorted eventually and compensation will be paid but it had s major effect on the first few days. Also a shower riser that was broken in the en-suite and mould on walls and in the shower tray. We ran out of toilet roll on day 4 and had to buy our own. 2 lights not working in the kitchen, I replaced 1 bulb but the other light over the sink, the internal wiring was broken. Lots of hand wash containers at each sink but this ran out all but 1 by day 5. A lovely house in a beautiful location but please pay attention to the details.

Thank you for your feedback. I'm sorry that you encountered these issues during your stay. When we ordered the new fridge freezer it was with next day delivery however this was delayed by the company and for this we do apolagise. With regards to the toilet roll and hand wash, as we are self catering we do not actually provide these items. We will leave one toilet roll per toilet and a small amount of hand wash to start you off but after that you would need to provide your own. We have been in contact with the housekeeping team to discuss the cleanliness and light bulbs and this will be looked into. We hope you had an enjoyable holiday. Thank you Property Owner

  • "Booking the cottage online was very easy and we were impressed with the photographs of the accommodation."

The descriptions provided were detailed and the booking experience was straightforward. As the cottage was booked online there is always some anticipation as to whether the accommodation will match up to its description; we can honestly say that Lulworth Cove cottage exceeded this in every way. Spacious and family friendly and very tastefully decorated and furnished. Very well appointed kitchen, with everything you could need. Bedrooms were presented very well with plenty of storage. Bathrooms were clean and family friendly. Garden small but enough room for two children to entertain themselves in. Car parking space is ideal off the road, as Lulworth is really difficult to park in. We have a large family car and had no problem fitting it on the driveway. The location is superb, with easy access to various amenities and areas of interest. All in all the icing on the cake for another brilliant holiday in Dorset. Would certainly recommend anyone to visit this property. Our first time using Dream Cottages and this lovely cottage and will certainly be using it again in the future. Many many thanks!!

  • "The cottage is exceedingly well furnished and equipped, in a very good location just north of Lulworth Cove and so readily accessible to the South Coastal path."

It is quiet, and the small back garden provides a parking space for one car -- and another car can be parked in the garage. It also is a very please (not overlooked!) spot for sitting in the sun -- and we were fortunate to have plenty of that. There is a table with six chairs there. At first we had some difficulty with the taps in the washbasins, but a phone call to the local agent soon sorted us out: these taps were of a design that we had not met before. Again, the heating programme is slightly complex: another call to the agent brought a plumber who came when we were out and left us a note which partially resolved the problem. We could not get the DVD to work, but the TV reception was excellent. There are many places of interest to visit within easy reach of West Lulworth, and we made full use of our National Trust membership.

About the location

Wareham 9.1 miles; Weymouth 14.7 miles

West Lulworth boasts some of the most dramatic geological features on the Jurassic coastline and arguably the most photographed locations in the UK. Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door sit at the heart of this area and really are a must see. Lulworth Cove has many little café’s and beachside shacks serving local seafood, ice cream and other delights, as well as several restaurants and pubs from which to choose. There is an Lulworth estate information centre which offers an insight into how the cove and Durdle door were formed and Jurassic history of the region. If you tire of Cove and cliff top walks then Lulworth Castle is a short drive away and offers another glimpse at some more recent history, along with Tyneham Village, and Corfe Castle. This is a really special area and the village retains a lot of it’s thatched cottages and has a real air of a rural retreat.
