"This is a lovely property with a well kitted out kitchen and comfortable furniture."
The conversion of the chapel is beautifully done and all of the furniture is of very good quality. The location is excellent and it’s a nice to stay in as it is to explore the local area which has a lot to offer with something for every interest. We’ll certainly be booking again. Some of the bedding was a little tired - I’ll bring a pillow or two next time. But this didn’t stop of from having a lovely stay!
Thanks for the feedback and the new booking for next year! We are down in a couple pf weeks and take a look at the bed linen/pillows to see what needs to be replaced! Property Owner

"A beautifully appointed property."
Spacious, very clean and comfortable. Excellent position for access to Lulworth Cove and other tourist spots. The short walking distance to several really good at pubs and restaurants is a big plus too! We had a lovely two week stay.
Thanks for the positive feedback - glad you enjoyed! Property Owner

"We very much enjoyed our stay, but there are a few things that need mentioning."
The bedroom on the ground floor was very cold and we discovered that the top right hand window catch was broken so it was impossible to completely close the window. We did our best to repair it but it was very difficult to reach and should be checked in case the screws need tightening more. A mirror in each bedroom would have been welcomed (had to dry my hair beside the front door) and several things were lacking in the kitchen. It was not possible to eat a 2 course meal without washing up forks. There were no egg cups, mixing bowls, sieve, salad bowl or cake/ quiche tins or butter dish.
Hi. We are glad you enjoyed your stay and thanks for your positive review. We didn't know about the window catch so thnks for letting us know - it should be fixed this weekend. We will also be adding a few more items to the kitchen - we actually thought some of these items were there already! Property Owner

"The cottage was comfortable and very well equipped."
The design was imaginative and provides something a little different from a 'standard' holiday home , the conversion of the chapel is very well done. Off road parking was easy and there is space for 2 cars if need be. Lulworth Cove is a 10 minute walk , there are many interesting places to visit very close by, the area is a walkers paradise. There are 3 or 4 places to eat in West Lulworth/Lulworth Cove and the small general stores across the road from the cottage (but unobtrusive) was very handy too. A very pleasant base to see a lovely county.
Thanks for the feedback - glad you enjoyed the cottage! Property Owner

"Delightful cottage, well presented and well equipped."
Just would have liked recycling facilities as we felt guilty only having the one refuse bin and lots we could have recycled.
Glad you and enjoyed it and thanks for the feedback on recycling bins - will check with the council... Property Owner

"We loved everything about it."
Thank you. We stayed there with our 4 children in 2006 so it was a place of memories. A beautiful cottage oozing quality. Just perfect.

"A very comfortable property furnished to a high standard, in an excellent location with only a short easy walk to Lulworth Cove."
Many walking and sightseeing opportunities within easy driving distance and a hotel restaurant and a pub, both serving good food only a short walk through the village. We had an excellent stay in March but visitors in the summer will find the road through West Lulworth gets much busier.
Thanks for the feedback. Glad you enjoyed! Property Owner

"I was quite astounded by the very frosty reception given by the neighbours who were very rude and clearly resentful of our presence."
Apart from that we were happy with the accommodation
Sorry you encountered an unfriendly neighbour. May be they were having a bad day as the majority of people in Lulworth lovely!. But glad you had a nice stay and enjoyed the accommodation. Property Owner

"The Chapel is exactly as it is in the photo gallery."
Very nicely furnished and we felt at home from the minute we stepped through the door. Quirky little nooks and crannies around the house give it its unique character. Great location with a well stocked local supermarket straight across the road, beautiful walks within very short distance. Lulworth Cove also a very short walk and a wide choice of places to eat in or takeaway at the Cove. Lots of places ( English Heritage & National Trust ) within easy driving distances - pre booking visits needed. Really good week despite some days and spells of very wet weather. A problem with the heating was quickly & efficiently resolved and the log burner is a very cosy heat meantime.
Thanks for your feedback. Glad you enjoyed yourself! Property Owner

"Firstly West Lulworth is a very pleasant village with easy access to Lulworth Cove a beatuiful place."
Unfortunately for the first time feel let down since I started using Sykes Cottages. On first arrival at St Mary's Chapel I tough this will be great base for our holiday. I wasn't lonf though before I notice that the living room furniture was covered in pet hairs so the first job was to start vacuuming the furniture, not an ideal start! Then the little annoying things, no teapot (we're no all coffee drinkers). No egg cups, and lacking cooking utensils in particular tongs. Loose tap in the bathroom, didn't know whether if the tap was going to come off all together, I'm not a plumber!. Some of these things might seem a bit petty but considering the price paid for this holiday, I think the place should have been spotless (particularly in view of the COVID situation) and with all fixtures and fitting in order.
Thanks for your feedback and sorry thats some things not to your expectations. It's our first year letting the property and have increased the utensils. We didn't know the tap was loose but this has also been fixed. Property Owner

"Excellent location!"
Cottage immaculate with high quality furnishings. Very comfortable! Location of Londis (just across the lane) was very convenient! Cottage is on the main route into Lulworth Cove, so expect traffic to be passing from early morning. However, the fantastic facilities and comfort of the property far outweigh a few early awakenings!

About the location
WEST LULWORTH
Wareham 9.1 miles; Weymouth 14.7 miles
West Lulworth boasts some of the most dramatic geological features on the Jurassic coastline and arguably the most photographed locations in the UK. Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door sit at the heart of this area and really are a must see. Lulworth Cove has many little café’s and beachside shacks serving local seafood, ice cream and other delights, as well as several restaurants and pubs from which to choose. There is an Lulworth estate information centre which offers an insight into how the cove and Durdle door were formed and Jurassic history of the region. If you tire of Cove and cliff top walks then Lulworth Castle is a short drive away and offers another glimpse at some more recent history, along with Tyneham Village, and Corfe Castle. This is a really special area and the village retains a lot of it’s thatched cottages and has a real air of a rural retreat.
