We found our stay was really relaxing and the place had everything we needed for our stay. The holiday cottage is a short distance from some great places to visit in the New Forest. We hope to visit again in the future.

The property

This detached timber clad hideaway rests in the village of West Wellow near the town of Romsey, accessed by a quiet country lane, and modernised to a lovely standard, within walking distance to the New Forest National park.

Perfect for couples or a small family, this retreat is a breathe of fresh air, reflected from the inside out.

Upon entering you will be welcomed by a well-presented light and airy lounge, complete with two beautiful sofas, and a contemporary, L shape kitchen that is tucked into the layout.

Cosy up and watch a movie, or choose from the selection of books, for a peaceful end to the day.

This floor also houses a walk-in shower room, boasting a classically arranged suite.

Stairs lead up to a double bedroom; your own little escape, elevated by soft lighting and an open window view towards the natural surroundings.

The pull-out beds are ideal for those wishing to bring children along, and a walk-in closet makes this a home-away-from-home.

For some 'me time' take a moment to relax on the patio area outside, where you can pour a refreshing drink and take in the picturesque location.

The village of West Wellow has two pubs, and a Nisa mini market, butcher, hardware store and pharmacy.

The nearby centre of Romsey (5 miles) with it's 12th century abbey, offers visitors a fine selection of shops, restaurants, cafés and pubs to choose from.

Enjoy a spot of retail therapy at Southampton’s West Quay Centre or marvel at the stunning cathedrals of Salisbury or Winchester, each easily accessible.

Paultons Park, home to ever popular Peppa Pig World (seasonal, please check opening times), is a mere 10 minutes from the property.

Open New Forest common land, is easily accessible from Hirondelle - on foot, 10 minutes, and by car 5.

Ponies, donkeys and cows roam freely and keen walkers will appreciate this less-frequented corner of the New Forest National Park.

A well-rounded location with plenty to keep you occupied.

The vibrant Hampshire market town of Romsey can be found on the banks of the picturesque River Test, coveted by fly fisherman as one of the country’s finest chalk fishing streams. The 44-mile long-distant walk of The Test Way winds past Romsey and many other pretty villages, historic churches and country houses, following the course of the river, down to Eling on Southampton Water. The centre of Romsey offers visitors a fine selection of shops, restaurants, cafes and pubs to choose from, and a colourful three-day market provides the perfect place to peruse local produce. A visit to Romsey’s Noman abbey or to the home of the Mountbatten Family at Broadlands is a must. Nearby, the National Trust’s Mottisfont Abbey sits in attractive riverside gardens and is well worth a day out. Alternatively, take the short drive to the New Forest National Park, swathed in pretty heathland and grazed by wild ponies, cattle and deer. Enjoy a spot of retail therapy at Southampton’s West Quay Centre or marvel at the stunning cathedrals at Salisbury or Winchester, each easily accessible.
