  • "The property is situated behind those fronting the road as if built in what once were back gardens."

This means that it is very quiet but is accessed via a narrow drive between two buildings both of which have border hedges that encroach on an already narrow drive. I had problems with my small car - a Yaris - anyone with a large car, an SUV for example, would have great difficulty and I think Sykes should warn prospective visitors of this. This is not the first time I have stayed at Delimara but found this problem greater this time than before due to the ongoing growth of the hedges.

  • "The bungalow was set in a nice quiet position, was clean and well equipped."

The only thing that let it down was the access. From the main road there is a very narrow lane with overgrown hedges (belonging to other properties) a 90 degree turn to get into the property and there is no room to turn around (this is not made clear in the picture or description) so you have to reverse out. If you drive anything bigger than a smart car you may wish to look elsewhere which is a shame for a nice little bungalow..

Thank you for your feedback, one of the properties has recently been sold so we are hoping the hedges will be improved. We usually find reversing in and driving out easier. I’m pleased you enjoyed your stay. Property Owner

  • "Delimara is a comfortable cottage in the heart of the village."

Location is perfect, with easy access to walk to all areas for exploring the island, shops and the bus route into Weymouth. The cottage is comfortable, and well appointed, we felt very happy there; we would definitely stay again.

I appreciate your lovely comments and pleased that you enjoyed your stay, I look forward to being able to welcome you back. Thank you Property Owner

  • "Lovely cottage with great access to everything we wanted to do."

Only downside was finding/getting the car into to cottage as the culdesac was more of a lane than a road and not very easy to get in and out of.

Thank you for your feedback. I know It can be tricky manoeuvring a car into the approach lane due to the neighbouring hedges being very overgrown. One of the houses was occupied by an elderly gentleman and is now up for sale so I am hoping there will be an improvement to the hedges with new owners. Despite this I hope you enjoyed your stay. • "My daughter and I had a lovely stay at Delimara."

The house was warm, despite being cold weather, and comfortable. We had plenty of space, nd made good use of the kitchen. The living room was comfortable, sunny and bright. The table by the windows a good size for not just meals, but also catching up on emails and so on. The location was convenient for food shopping, for morning coffees in Easton, and for walks along the coast. It would be great to return one day, perhaps when we can use the large garden.

Thank you for your kind comments, I’m so pleased you enjoyed your stay and I hope you are able to visit again. Property Owner

  • "The Bungalow was great for position, and in a nice quiet area with a lovely garden."

But inside was very tired. Dining chairs and settee need replacing. They have seen better days. It definitely needs a new Shower head, the one in there has gone brown so didn't bother having a shower. Carpets downstairs were grubby. Upstairs was lovely. Overall it could do with a good clean downstairs. Shame really because it could look really nice. Would not use it again.

  • "Our stay at Delimara was really lovely."

The bungalow is delightfully situated with a sunny aspect. It is fully equipped for your stay, whether you eat out daily, or choose to prepare your own food, there really is all you need. The home was absolutely spotless when we arrived. Milk, tea, biscuits and fresh marmalade had been kindly provided as a welcome for us. The beds and bedding were fresh and beds comfy for us. The bathroom is perfect with good, easy access, with all towels provided. The large sofa and chairs were great to relax in on an evening, as was the sun lounge to the rear of the property and the good size tv a bonus. WiFi reception is excellent. The utility area in the attached garage was perfect, with the added benefit of an extra toilet and wash basin also. it was a perfect base to stay, both to explore the island and its remarkable history - visit the museum if you can. Or choose to leave the island on some days, as we did to ramble around the many picturesque villages and natural history points that exist east and west along the adjacent coast line and countryside. We would definitely recommend this property, both for families and elderly.

We have never been disappointed. We have stayed at Delimara before so knew what to expect. Again, we were not disappointed. Quiet, comfortable, convenient and spotlessly presented, we enjoyed a great holiday.
