  • "Pros: -Great location, only a short walk to the beach and harbour -Allocated parking space -Spacious flat with everything a holiday cottage needs."

Cons: -The cleanliness could have been better. From the cobwebs it was clear where dusting had not taken place and there was mould in the bath and shower. -The flat above has a windchime on their balcony which was very noisy at night, as this is directly above the main bedroom.

Many thanks for taking the time to offer your feedback. We are so lucky with the location, it is a lovely short walk into town. The flat is as you say modern and spacious, with two good size bedrooms and the two bathrooms. Please accept my apologies with regards to the cobwebs, the property is so popular and is booked up for every week between March and November, we have a deep clean booked for early November and then throughout the quieter winter months we repaint, and try to improve the overall property. The bathroom will be receiving some attention this winter. Again, thank you for the feedback, we are so pleased that you had a good holiday, and you would be most welcome to holiday with us again. • "There are no coat pegs to hank up your coats or dressing gowns etc."

A lot lot of things could be improved with regards to maintenance, e.g :- windows do not open very easily, cupboard doors not hung properly. Overall the apartment was spacious and nicely furnished and adequate for our needs. Only downfall was the lighting going into the property,

Many thanks for the feedback, we have received two comments recently about lack of space for hanging coats, we purchased a really sturdy coat stand at the start of the season and so a little concerned if this has been removed. We always compile a list of jobs or improvements to be made throughout the winter and servicing all of the windows will be added. We have holidayed at Marina Reach ourselves frequently and have never spotted any problems with cupboard doors, but we would be more than happy to ask the maintenance team to check and action any issues. The lighting in the communal entrance has been reported to the freeholder of the building who employ a third party to handle the maintenance. Again thankyou for the constructive feedback and glad that you enjoyed your holiday. Michelle and Andy Property Owner

  • "The facilities need to be checked more thoroughly."

There were no hooks in the hallway to hang our coats when we arrived and we had to use the hooks in the twin bedroom. The cutlery and crockery left a lot to be desired and, alongside the toilets, we had to bleach a number of items before we were comfortable using them, The mirror in the bedroom was of no use for using the hair dryer as there are no sockets within reach and no power extensions available meaning we had to stand semi naked in the hallway and use the mirror there. There is no light when you leave the apartment to go out and in the evening it is pitch black so we had to use our phone lights to illuminate the way to the exit door.

Many thanks for the feedback, and genuinely sorry and concerned to read your thoughts. At the start of the season we purchased a really sturdy coat stand for the hallway to facilitate coats and jackets and so I am a little concerned if that has been removed. Similarly we replaced all of the crockery and cutlery at the start of the season. I will contact the cleaning team to check on the over all quality of the cleaning and in particular the crockery. That is a really useful comment about the mirror in the bedroom and an easy win, we will happily plan for some additional power points or an extension lead. Similarly the lighting in the communal entrance and corridor is the responsibility of the maintenance company employed by the freeholder, and so I will happily raise this with them. Again many thanks for the feedback Michelle and Andy Property Owner

  • "This is the third time I have stayed at this property the first being back in 2017,it is in a really convenient quiet location,is only a 10 minute stroll to the beach and has it's own parking space right outside."

The property is generally clean and tidy and we enjoyed our stay overall but I noticed that some fixtures and fittings in the property are looking a bit tired probably due to heavy usage over the summer months, small things such as the bath panel being cracked in the main bathroom, mould on the bottom of the glass shower door,a broken light above one of the counter tops in the kitchen and a torn net curtain in the bay window. The windows were also quite stiff to open and all the frames need a good clean. These are only minor things and didn't spoil our holiday but I think it useful for the owners to be made aware. Finally I have to say the new sofa in the front room is far more comfy than the old one although the two "tub chairs" are certainly not! Overall the property is of a reasonable standard for the price but with a little more attention to detail could be even better!

Hi Jennifer, many thanks for the feedback it is always very much appreciated. thank you for your continued support, and we are so pleased that you enjoyed your holiday. You are spot on with regards to the location, it is very quiet but still a short walk into town, the parking space is important too, as there aren't too many private parking spaces in Weymouth. Thanks for flagging up about the bath panel and shower door, alongside the broken light and torn curtain (it really is good to hear these things), We only bought the property at the start of last year, having (as you) previously stayed there as visitors, and invested in a repaint, replacing the en suite, replacing the sofa alongside a few other tasks. This winter we will be similarly looking at where we can improve, we had pencilled in the curtains, and so we will add the bath panel, shower door and light fixture to the list. We have been absolutely blown away with the huge interest in our property and it has been let every single week between March and through until late October. We haven't even had a chance to get down ourselves since May. This time last year we hadn't had a single booking for the following year, whilst this year we already have a dozen, and so we are going to factor in a couple of deep cleans, throughout the season. Finally thanks again for the honest and constructive feedback, and as always you would be most welcome to visit again. Property Owner

  • "The apartment had most things we would like to find to cover a week's visit."

It was a peaceful retreat after a busy day. The superking bed was wonderfully comfortable and both showers were great, if a little cramped in the ensuite. Our main issue was we found the sofa and armchairs really uncomfortable, so we struggled to properly relax and unwind.

Hi Jeannette, we are so pleased to read that you enjoyed your holiday, you are spot on the location is so close to town, but in a peaceful location, and the superking bed is very comfortable. We replaced the showers last winter we only wish we could have found a little more space in the ensuite, but sadly not able too. We were so sorry to read that you didn't find the seating comfortable, again based on feedback last year we replaced all of the seating in the spring and this is the first negative comments we have read, and so please accept our apologies and we will investigate on our next visit. Either way we are thrilled that you enjoyed your holiday, and you would be most welcome to visit again. Michelle and Andy Property Owner

  • "Another great holiday at Weymouth."

Of course the weather was outstandingly fantastic. Really hot until the last day of the two weeks. Unfortunately there was a power cut during the night before we left. Hence no hot water to give the kitchen area a good wipe round. No chance to have another lovely shower, in your fantastic showers. Also dark getting along the hallway with our belongings. It was another great holiday Thank you to you all. Hope to come back again next year.

Hi Brenda, thanks again for taking the time to feedback, we are so pleased that the weather was kind to you. Likewise we are so pleased that you liked the showers, they were replaced in the winter. You would of course always be welcome back. Michelle and Andy Property Owner

on arriving at property found it spotlessly clean every thing needed was provided even little extras like tea coffee. Would definitely recommend and stay again if going to weymouth just 2 little niggles like ensuite being a little on small size shower head sprays wall instead of body easy to fix also curtains in lounge were awkward to open /close especially if you were not tall another easy fix A great holiday stay

Hi Terry, Thank you so much for taking the time to feedback, and we are so pleased that you enjoyed your stay. We have spent a lot of time and money redecorating and refurnishing the property throughout the winter and so the positive comments are lovely to read. Strangely enough we replaced the curtains in the winter and commented that perhaps the curtain rails should be replaced too, and so definitely the next job to do. Again. thank you for taking the time out to feedback, and you would be most welcome to visit again. Michelle and Andy Property Owner

  • "The property was comfortable, clean and tidy but basic."

In an ideal location to travel using public transport .The property felt and was smelling damp throughout the stay. It felt warm in the property but heating would not be enough on a colder day. The settee was barely comfortable and low down to sit on. The entrance hall was dark, cold and had a damp smell about it which did not seem inviting on entering.

Hi Norma, many thanks for taking the time to offer your feedback, and we are genuinely sorry to read that your holiday didn't live up to your expectations, but thank you nonetheless for the 75% over all review. Just looking at your comments, we are genuinely stunned at the comments surrounding damp, as the property is only 15 years old, and we prepped, and painted throughout over the winter with no comments of any damp issues by the tradesmen. The property was only painted throughout in February and so I wonder if there was a lingering smell of paint. Similarly the heating is only a couple of years old and as part of our holiday let criteria is tested yearly. We actually spend our holidays there in the winter months and the heating is more than adequate and can be adjusted to suit. Just touching on the settee. that is brand new and was only built and delivered in February of this year, and so again please accept our apologies if it wasn't to your liking. Finally and unfortunately we cannot influence the communal entrance, but will happily feed back, and genuinely surprised that you feel that the property is basic. All descriptions are written by Sykes/Dream Cottages with a list of criteria, furnishings and fittings that must be supplied. These are reviewed every year. We are visiting our property again next week and will happily check and review all of your comments again, and act on any work that needs undertaking. Again thank you for your feedback. • "The apartment had a real home from home feel about it."

Everything in it was spotlessly clean, and well maintained. Very well equipped, it had everything from an ironing board to bodyboards! iron, hairdryer, along with complimentary tea, coffee and biscuits upon arrival. If you do happen to forget anything from home, I would not worry too much, as no doubt it will have been provided for your stay. The apartment is situated in a very quiet block, so nice and peaceful, along with the added bonus of a allocated parking space, and being very close to Weymouth town centre, a five minute walk if that. My only recommendations for the apartment would be, a new sofa, as the one there is not overly comfortable, due to sagging at either end. Also a black out blind or curtain may be an idea for the double bedroom, as there is an outside light that is on all night in the parking area, and it tends to light up the room through the existing curtain and blind. Other than those couple of minor things, I had a most enjoyable and relaxing stay, and would be happy to book again. Thank you.

  • "Although listed as suitable for 4 people I think it would be too small for 4 adults."

Best suited to 2 adults or 2 adults and 2 small children. I marked the comfort category down because the property badly needs a new sofa. The current one has sagged with age and not very comfortable. Also needs new curtains in the lounge. On the plus side the property is nicely situated for the sea front and shops. The off road parking space is a big help.

Hi Garry, Many thanks for the feedback and glad you enjoyed your holiday, you are spot on with the location and car parking, it is ideal to be able to just walk into town or the seafront. The seating is being replaced in the winter months and i'll happily take a look at the curtains too. I can't amend the listing though as the property is a two double roomed property and does have a queen-size bed in the master bedroom, and two singles in the second. It was clean and provided everything we needed. If I were to provide any comments they would be minor - the en-suite is very small and not very practical for everyday use. The sofa wasn’t comfortable and if there’s more two of you, the chairs are really uncomfortable

Hi Julie, we are so pleased that you enjoyed your holiday, and you would be most welcome to stay again. Thank you for the lovely feedback, very constructive. Came home a day earlier due to the above

Hi Cheryl, I'm so sorry to read that, and genuinely sorry that you had to cut your holiday short. The appartment has been let for every single week since we bought it in February, and this is the only time anyone has mentioned the beds being damp. I have asked the cleaning and maintenance team to investigate. With regards to the settee, a couple of people have commented about how comfy (or not comfy) it is, and so we will be replacing these in the winter months. • "This property was clean but could have been cleaner."

The bed was extremely comfortable but the settee and chairs unfortunately were not. It would have been very useful to have coat-hooks in the hallway. The shower was lovely although we couldn’t adjust the temperature easily to produce cooler water. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Hi Jane, thank you so much for the honest feedback, it is very much appreciated. We have fed back the comments with regards to the cleanliness with Dream Cottages who facilitate the cleaning. The issue with the heating in the shower has been addressed, and great shout with regards to the coat hooks, we are not in Weymouth ourselves until November, but we will look to add them whilst there. We only bought the property in February of this year, and planned on looking at the seating in the winter, we have planned to meet with Dream Cottages whilst there in November and look at the best options that will appeal to the widest audience.
