The property

Located in a select, residential development with a number of other holiday homes in Preston, just outside Weymouth, Seaview is only a 2 minute walk from the beach and as the name suggests, has stunning sea views from the property.

Seaview is particularly suited to couples but can accommodate 4 along with a well-behaved dog. Seaview is a well-equipped and cosy seaside home with two bedrooms on separate floors, 2 bathrooms and a living room/kitchen with views.

The ground floor, twin bedded room has a convenient, adjacent shower room with WC and basin and leads just off the hall.

Upstairs there’s a room with a double bed and a generous en-suite bathroom with WC, Basin and shower over bath.

The upstairs bedroom enjoys far reaching sea views towards Portland.

There is a short section of height restriction to the side of the dormer window.

The living room comprises the kitchen and lounge area and there is a drop-leaf, folding, table with stowaway chairs for dining. Step outside via the patio doors and you will find a picnic bench on the patio for outside dining.

Note that the patio is open to the side and rear.

From the patio on a windy day you might like to watch the acrobatics of the kite and wind surfers, or you can relax, soak up the sun and take in the views of the Jurassic coast stretching all the way to the Isle of Portland.

Portland is famous for its prized Portland stone, its National Sailing Academy and is popular with water sports enthusiasts.

Staying at Seaview, right next to the pebbly, Overcombe Beach, you have a choice of several water activities nearby and equipment may be hired from the Watersports shop on the corner.

Bowleaze Cove, just a few minutes’ walk, also has lots of activities for children.

If you’re looking for the traditional beach holiday with buckets and spades the vast, soft, sandy stretches of Weymouth beach with its shallow water is a 5 minute drive away or a flat 2 mile cycle / walk.

There are plenty of interesting coastal walks right from your doorstep - towards Ringstead Bay and Osmington Mills and beyond all with magnificent views from the Coastpath. Alternatively, you may choose to head inland to discover the beautiful Dorset countryside, visit gardens like at Kingston Maurwood or Abbotsbury with its Swannery or just explore the quaint villages and enjoy the rolling Dorset countryside of Thomas Hardy. For dining out from Seaview there are some lovely relaxed places with stunning sea views all within a few minutes’ walk.

There is the SpyGlass, a Harvester pub with an informal restaurant just up the hill, the Look-Out Café on Furzy Cliff, great for brunch or lunch with its far-reaching views, and there is the Oasis beach-side café with its relaxed atmosphere.

Or you can drive into Weymouth and choose from its wide selection of restaurants including fish specialties in the town and around the harbour area.

It’s about a 2 mile walk along the promenade into the town and a little further for the harbour. A stroll along the promenade is a pleasant way to experience the location and, as it is flat and quite accessible it provides an ideal, gentle exercise for all ages and abilities.

With the sea’s waves breaking on your left and RSPB Lodmoor’s birds and wildlife on your right a break at Seaview is a great way to recharge your batteries. For those with energy to burn a brisk walk away from the cottage takes you to Lodmoor Country Park with miles of footpaths.

There’s a Sea Life Centre with Go Karts, Sand World, Pirate Mini Golf as well as the Lodmoor Nature Reserve. Seaview will especially suit those looking for a seaside holiday with wonderful views and walks, right next to the beach but a little apart from the busier, seaside town attractions.

You can walk at shore level, with the waves breaking at your feet all the way to the harbour or else drive into Weymouth to enjoy its shops, restaurants, sandy beach, Nothe Fort and everything else the historic harbour side can offer.

Staying at Seaview, you get the best of both worlds.

“These cottages are not suitable for elderly or disabled persons, to many steps and ramps.”

Also patrons should be told that the parking space is on a higher level than the cottage.

Also patrons should be told that the parking space is on a higher level than the cottage. Beach inaccessible due to the steep incline from walk way to sea.
