  • "Myself, my husband and our two boys really enjoyed our stay at Smugglers Cottage."

The accommodation was lovely a real home from home. The location was brilliant to explore Weymouth town and having parking outside the cottage was a real bonus when we ventured further afield. I would definitely recommend the cottage.

Great to have a parking permit too and we managed to park outside the cottage most of the week. We have stayed in Trinity Street cottages for many years and we will return again next year as we love it there.

Splendid location! Good to have the parking permit. The noise from air con units at the back of the cottage was noticeable as the weather was good we had all the doors and windows open. However, we had a marvellous holiday and the cottage was beautifully designed with every comfort.

  • "Property location very good for harbour ,shops, bars and restaurants."

Living area adequate but sofa and chairs not the most comfortable. Kitchen although small without much surface workspace was very well equipped and modern. Sliding patio doors could be an improvement on mechanism in place as they were either awkward with the dining table or intruding into the kitchen. !st floor bedroom lacking in drawer space as these were obstructed by the window side bed, also beds quite narrow if to be used by adults, door would not open fully because other bed was in the way. 2nd floor bedroom very good but would have preferred a bedroom door as opposed to open plan. Ref parking zone permit we were informed a few months before our holiday that the council had withdrawn the permit for this property so we booked parking independantly through just park, then a few weeks before the holiday was due to start we were told that there was a permit available, this was too late for us as we had already paid.

Dear guest we are glad you enjoyed the location of smugglers cottage, sorry to hear you had already paid for your parking but you was notified 2 months before your stay to let you know that another permit was in place. Property Owner

The bedrooms and bathrooms ideal for a family of four and throughout our stay we found parking either directly outside or very close by. It was half term week and the weather was wonderful, so lots of time outdoors enjoying the sunshine, it’s our second visit to Weymouth and I’m sure we will return in the future. Highly recommend the property.

  • "This accommodation is in a good location right on the harbour with all the facilities you need over 3 floors."

The cottage has been refurbished to a good standard with everything you need for a one/two week vacation. We had two issues during our stay the kitchen sink has a waste disposal unit built in this we were advised not to use but doing so the sing does back up with water may be remove this feature and fit a standard drain sink waste. The second issue was the property backs onto a pub and you can hear continuous extraction units, extra fans and beer cooling units continuously running day and night maybe the owner could approach the pub to resolve the issue other than that a good little accommodation in the centre of all the action, thanks for letting the accommodation to us.

Dear guest, thank you very much for your lovely feedback, we hope to see you again in the future, as for the two issues the waste disposal unit, should be turned on to clear an blockages if any by the cleaner/maintenance after each let. If you had contacted dream cottages they would have sorted it out for you straight away. As for the cooling fans this has never been an issue before, but thank you for bringing it to my attention, perhaps they need a service. Property Owner

A dishwasher and a few more hooks in places like the bathroom would top it all off - but nothing that would stop us coming back for another visit.

It's truly a dream cottage in a dream location! Brightly lit, clean, comfortable and so close to great pubs, cute shops and the harbor for daily "crabbing". For the owner: We love the decor! A few minor things: hooks in the upper bath for towels, a hook (and a towel) for the lower powder room, would also recommend no room "fresheners" or perfumes. We needed to air the cottage on arrival (allergies). And for some reason there were dishwasher tabs in the cottage and no dishwasher.

The gas wood burner effect fire with the added bonus of remote control makes the cottage feel snug and homely. The location is perfect for exploring the near by harbour, town centre and beaches. The car parking permit for use in local car parks came in very handy. Would recommend this house to anyone wishing to stay in the harbour area.

  • "The beds had 13."

5 tog duvets on them which were too hot. We removed them and just slept under the duvet covers. Would be good to have lower tog duvets for warmer seasons. The drainage plugs in both bathrooms had not been cleared for several weeks - they were clogged with hair and water was very slow to drain from them until we cleared them. We viewed other feedback so took our own oven cloth, small towel (for ground floor toilet) and knife sharpener so we cover the issues others had reported. The doors to the small court yard were difficult to open - the track either needs a good clean (sand/dirt makes them stick) or some WD40 spraying in the track. Other than this it is a great cottage - very comfortable and in a wonderful location.

  • "Nice cottage in a good location."

Recently renovated so everything is new. Cottage lacks any extra touches which I would expect in such an expensive rental. Some things look good but aren't useable, for example we cooked one evening and the knives were all blunt. I was told when I booked that you get a parking permit for the surrounding streets. This wasn't the case but you do get a permit for the local car parks but have to walk to them. The location makes it though, best spot to be by the harbour.

  • "Great location and beautifully presented house."

A few improvements from us 1.The parking situation needs to be better explained, took at least half an hour to find a parking space eventually in the Nothe - all other car parks too far. No spaces outside for either unloading or loading so an elderly couple would struggle carrying everything down the road 2. There are no oven instructions in the guest book or cupboards. Oven gloves would also be useful 3. A hand towel for the downstairs toilet rather than having to use one of the tea towels would be good 4 TV remote hit an miss, think it needs batteries 5 Kitchen utensils - needs a wooden spoon... needs a bread knife and actually all sharp knives were totally useless, none of them could even slice through a pepper and lack of bread knife meant trying to saw the bread with a blunt knife 6 hoover is pretty useless and it needs a good clean as it smells awful when in use
