The accommodation offers good quality furnishings and had a well equipped kitchen. It also has an en-suite in the main bedroom which is a definite bonus. It has a lovely garden which is carefully attended. My only issue is the access if you drive a larger vehicle as it can take a nerve of steel to get onto the drive safely. This accommodation allowed our dog to stay but I’m not sure this is going to continue which would be a shame. Otherwise thankyou for providing a lovely place to stay.

The property

Set in a picturesque Dorset village in open countryside.

This beautifully presented cottage is just a stone's throw from the superb Jurassic Coast.

It offers a welcoming feel inside, with cosy living spaces and shabby-chic furnishings adding to the character inside.

It is perfect for families and friends, with an en-suite in the master bedroom, space for travel cots and a king-size bed.

The lounge is rather spacious, with plush furniture and a woodburning stove set within a brick surround, ideal for those cool winter nights.

There is a dining table set in one half of the room, also enjoying the warmth of the fire, there are French doors leading out to the peaceful garden.

Upstairs you can relax on the decking, which adjoins the master bedroom, pour yourself a glass of wine and take in the glorious scenery.

You have fabulous views out towards the famous white horse of Dorset, which rests on Osmington Hill just north of the village.

Lastly, the family bathroom completes the cottage with a stylish theme.

The garden is fully enclosed with patio furniture for alfresco dining on a summer's afternoon.

Weymouth is also easily reached, with its sandy beach, bustling lanes of boutiques and a colourful harbour.

Corfe Castle is also worth a visit, as is the UNESCO World Heritage Sites of Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door, A splendid retreat in a beautiful part of Dorset.

About the location

SUTTON POYNTZ

Weymouth 3.7 miles; Dorchester 5.4 miles

Sutton Poyntz is a small village on the northern side of Preston, on the outskirts of Weymouth, and it sits beneath the George III chalk horse that is carved into the hillside. At the centre of the village sits a beautiful duck pond, and the Spring head pub, where you can enjoy a drink in the pub gardens whilst admiring the chalk horse carving. Just 3.5 miles from Weymouth and it’s golden sandy beach, lanes of boutique shops, sea life centre and historic harbour this is a perfect village base for exploring the Jurassic Coast. Just 13 miles away are the UNESCO world Heritage sites of Lulworth Cove and Durdle, a short drive further on finds you at Corfe Castle, most recently known for being the inspiration behind many Enid Blyton Famous Five novels. Make sure you take a trip on the steam train on the Swanage Railway, which passes the magnificent ruins. A charming base to choose in a stunning part of Dorset.
