  • "Major leak from gutter over centre of patio door and the kitchen sink leaked But lovely welcome cake and wine"

Thank you for your feedback score, the lovely message you left and we’re glad you enjoyed your stay. How unfortunate that there was an external problem with the guttering on a very rainy day which of course is now to be repaired. Fortunately this caused no internal problems. Fortunate also that the unexpected small leak from the kitchen sink was repairable by the holiday guest herself. We are grateful you were able to do so. Thank you. Property Owner

The kitchen/dining area has a lovely outlook onto the patio garden. There is plenty of kitchen work space and the Rangemaster cooker made it easy to serve up meals for six people. We had a lovely warm welcome from the hosts and would certainly rebook in the future.

  • "The old chapel is a beautiful building in a fantastic location."

It is well thought out with all the little items you may need during a week away. We stayed here with our 2 dogs and really enjoyed exploring the area and had some fantastic meals out and a nice relaxing time. We arrived to find a lovely cake and a bottle of wine left for us which was just perfect after a long drive. We spent a few hours the day we arrived sat in the garden which is a nice sheltered little sun trap. Our only criticism is that the bed was SO uncomfortable!! Unfortunately we did not sleep well during our stay and both ended up with back ache (we don’t usually have this problem) and constantly jostled by each other tossing and turning all night. If the mattress is replaced we would love to stay again!

We’re so glad you enjoyed the area, the Chapel itself and the local eateries. It is so unfortunate that the ‘feel’ of a mattress is so subjective and will never be to everyone’s tastes. Property Owner

The Chapel was spotlessly clean, bright & modern, yet sympathetic to the history of the building & its surroundings. A real home from home, with everything you could possibly need. Plenty to do in the area, we would recommend & hope to return. Many thanks

Well equipped, spacious yet a home from home. The kitchen is lovely. After a long day out it was great just sitting in the garden. In the welcome pack the owner had put about the renovations which I found really interesting. The chapel is well located for exploring Dorset. We spent many an evening in the Red Lion, every meal was delicious and the staff and customers made us feel so welcome. Really didn’t want to come home and fell in love with the Old Chapel. Thank you for a lovely holiday which was most needed. Love Oban and family. xxx

Thank you so much for your lovely feedback. We're so glad that Oban (and mum and dad) enjoyed your stay so much! Glad you were so welcome at The Red Lion too. Thanks for leaving The Old Chapel so tidily and for the lovely self-portraits in our Visitors book! Property Owner

  • "For us, two elderly folk with an adult handicapped daughter and a dog, the Old Chapel provides a lovely setting where we can go for walks in beautiful countryside and relax in comfort in the house with every modern appliance to make life easy."

Within easy walking or driving distance there are dog friendly pubs where we can have an evening meal where we felt welcome, so that even when our daughter on the autistic spectrum said embarrassingly loudly, as her meal was put in front of her, "This looks like a dog's dinner", the waiter simply grinned. Possibly he picked up that as she loves dogs, this from her is a compliment.

We are so glad you enjoy The Old Chapel so much and that all of your needs are met locally. Thank you for your repeated custom. Property Owner

Location wise, In the village a few hundred yard from the local pub which is welcoming and friendly. We travelled to Poole, Swanage and Shaftesbury so it was a perfect location for us.
