"We had a lovely few days, the accommodation was everything we wanted, clean, well equipped and peaceful."
Ideally situated for visiting local landmarks and coast. Would highly recommend.
-
"Another enjoyable stay."
Always well stocked on arrival and spotless. We still get the wow factor when we climb the stairs. The Grandchildren loved counting the sheep from the big window. Leanne was really helpful when we needed advice about where to go to get treatment for a mountain bike fall! If you need a vet. Pets at home in Dorchester comes highly recommended from us. We needed to use them after our dog badly cut his paw. Hopefully back again next year. Thank you. X

"We had a fantastic stay at the Shepherds Hut."
It is in a stunning location, with loads of wildlife and in very quiet and safe area. The accommodation was incredibly clean and if we had any problems they would sort it the same day. We would definitely stay here again, 100% recommend to anyone.
-
"Great location both for peace and quiet and distance to local attractions."
Clean and comfortable living space. Can’t think of a single negative about the property.
-
"Beautiful place to stay for the weekend."
Comfortable and relaxing, all facilities provided were excellant. Would stay there again certainly.

"Disappointed that it was not a working dairy farm as stated,As I understand it ceased to be one in 2018."
I grew up on one and was looking forward to see how things had changed. Everything else was first class.
I’m so sorry you were disappointed we’re not still dairying. It was such a hard life and always only one milking away from a crisis that we did decide to stop that part of the farming business. Thank you for drawing the need for this to be updated on the particulars to our attention. I’ve emailed Sykes about it today to ask them to change the information. Thank you for staying with us and for your kind comment. Property Owner

"This was our second visit."
I would highly recommend The Shepherds Hut. The upstairs living area is perfect for a small group of friends or family. Big kitchen which is really equipped. Comfy beds. Plenty of lovely country walks close by. Altogether, a great place to relax and reset.
-
"We had an amazing time."
The view was beautiful. Lovely walks and the house was beautiful. No doubt we will be back
-
"Lovely property and lovely owners."
We are usually in and out of our holiday rentals but on this occasion my son was very ill the day of checkout. The team where easy to communicate with and incredibly understanding and empathetic. The property speaks for itself in the beautiful photos but to have empathetic management was the icing on the cake. We are booked to spend our Christmas here this year and can't wait. Its my dream property to be honest. Not to big, not too small, perfect location too. If they ever decided to sell I'd bite their arm off to take on this delightful building.
-
"4th time staying here."
Great as always. Very warm & comfortable, well equipped and great walks around the farm with the dogs.
-
"Very spacious for the two of us."
A comfortable 5 night stay. Fantastic views, loved watching the sheep. Very relaxing, amazed by how quiet it was.
-
"Shepherd's Hut was very well equipped with everything we could need and it was a very comfortable place to stay, the sunshine and sheep were an added bonus !"
! Keeping to the farm rules there are plenty of tracks and field boundaries to create long walks. Regularly went for 5km walks.
-
"We have been staying here on and off for over 10yrs."
This year my daughter came back with her children and hubby . It was great to see him feel the wow factor as he walked in.It was a magical time. Making memories with them. Setting is perfect for little ones. Everything we needed for us and children and dog's. Thanks to Leanne for keeping this place alittle gem, in the middle of a working farm and set away from busy roads. Missing the views already.
-
"This is a well stocked, well managed property and ideal for families with dogs."
The house was spotless and had everything needed for a break in the countryside. The farm location was immaculate and we would not hesitate to book another stay and to reccomend it to friends.

"Had a wonderful time at Sheperds Hut, lovely cottage, couldn't fault it and great being in the middle of the farm."
Nice to be able to walk around the fields and take in the views. Garden was lovely and the cottage was very central to all the things we wanted to see. Will definitely stay again if we find ourselves back in Dorset.
-
"Comfortable and clean cottage with amazing views from the main picture window."
Lovely garden to sit and relax and have our BBQ. We were able to walk around the farm fields and take in the countryside as well as take a trip to Bournemouth to visit the seaside. Could have happily have stayed on for another week.

"We love it so much we've been back 4 times and will return."

"We had a lovely holiday."
The Shepherds Hut is exactly as described, very clean and well maintained. We had everything we needed. Even a play kitchen for our two children, which they loved. Spent most of the weekend in front of the fire watching the lambs play in the field. What a lovely way to relax!
-
"3rd time staying here and as good as ever."
A comfortable and cosy cottage, great for dog walks, well equipped and positioned well to explore Dorset.

"Faultless. The nicest property we've ever stayed in."
The setting, the comfy beds and sofas, the huge range of kitchen crockery and equipment, the super garden and attention to detail, made it very special.

"This was our second visit to the Shepherd’s Hut with our two boys & their wives, both times have been excellent."
We have cooked & eaten out locally. With family nearby Shepherd’s Hut enables us to enjoy family occasions easily.
-
"We had an amazing week, weather was not the best but sitting and watching the sheep on a cold and wet day whilst comfy and warm was very relaxing."
Shepherds Hut is ideally based to visit all of Dorset and it was so peaceful on the farm. The property itself had everything you could want and more we will definitely be back very soon.
-

"Excellent property in a great location."
Every aspect of the accommodation was spot on, made our holiday all the more special. Grand children loved watching the farmers getting the crops and bales in. Also the fields of sheep surrounding the property. Large garden made a great and safe play area for football etc. Eating outside became a real pleasure.
-
"A lovely and well equipped cottage in a great location for exploring the Dorset coast."
Our two boys loved seeing the animals around us and watching all the farm vehicles drive by - thank you to all the drivers for waving back! We would absolutely stay again some day.
-

-
"Excellent location and lovely accommodation as well."
Perfect for the coast and larger towns. Everybody made us welcome, really enjoyed our stay.
-
"What a lovely place to stay, quiet and peaceful and views across the fields to the woods at the top of the hill."
The upside down arrangement worked well and the large window in the living area is fantastic. The property is well equipped and comfortable and is situated within easy access of Blandford Forum, Dorchester and the coast. The dogs made friends with the lambs who crowded around whenever they were out in the garden. The garden is nicely kept and has a large grassed area and nice pation area with table and chairs. There is also a brick barbecue, at the front of the house there is plenty of parking. There are lovely walks around the farm.
-
"Amazing property."
Perfect rural location. Excellent finish and personal touches.
-
"This beautiful upside down barn conversion has stunning views and lovely walks from the door."
It is very well equipped, clean and with comfy beds. The farm is very well managed ...a safe and attractive natural environment. People have commented upon the heat upstairs but this is easily managed by drawing the big blinds until mid morning and opening windows when you're in. This is a good choice for an away from it all, peaceful break, but equally good to explore via Dorchester and the A35. A lovely holiday...thank you.
-
"Great property, fabulous location."
This was our 3rd visit and would definitely go back.
-
"Beautiful property so clean, very comfortable beds lots of extras eg."
Games, jigsaws DVDs, loved the upside down living space to take in the stunning views. Well equipped kitchen. Would definitely stay here again

House considerably better equipped than others we have stayed at, beautiful place, very clean and all instructions accurate and easy to follow. Will definitely return.

"One of the best holiday properties we have stayed in."
Quiet, very clean, comfortable and equipped with everything you need. There was so much to do and see in the surrounding area. Would highly recommend, have done so, other family members have booked for 2022 already! Many thanks for our stay.
-
"Wonderful place to stay on the farm, lovely location and spacious accommodation, will definitely return again."
-
"The cottage itself and location were spot on and the cleanliness was good."
Just a couple of points I think other visitors should be aware of. Firstly on a couple of mornings I was woken from a barking dog coming from the employee static caravans. Secondly there were several giant house spiders within the property. This may not affect everyone but we felt uneasy.
Thank you for your feedback and we're glad you liked our cottage. We've recently let a local resident who was struggling to manage his rent elsewhere, due to the pandemic, use one of the static homes on the otherside of the field. He is only there a couple of nights a week, but we will monitor for dog barking in the light of your comments. Re the "giant house spiders" we wonder if these could have been "Daddy Long Legs" (apparently not spiders zoologically) as we've had a few of these in our own house recently. We're sorry you were bothered by them and understand they can seem rather large. Fortunately they're normally only around for a few days at the end of the summer and apart from their appearance don't cause any other problems. Property Owner

"Immaculately clean and tidy."
Plenty of towels and comfortable beds. Heated towel rail was much appreciated. Lovely position for exploring that part of Dorset.
-
"The whole family love Shepherd’s Hut - our second stay."
Great base to explore Dorset. Looking forward to staying again hopefully next year.
-
"A wonderful setting and super place with entertainment from the Lambs, Buzzards, Owls, and even the flock of Yellowhammers all watched through full length picture windows."
Super cottages in super setting with excellent walking without having to use the car. Would rate the cottage and the place all 11 out of 10
-
"We had a lovely break at the Shepherd's Hut."
The setting is beautiful and the house is really comfortable and much larger than expected. All the kitchen tools were available, as well as staples like salt, pepper, oil, tea, coffee, milk, etc which makes like and packing easier. We made full use of the wood burner which made everything very cosy. Only tip is for navigation...if using google maps turn on satellite view and drop a pin or us what three words. Just make sure that the route ends with the instructions provided as there are some roads to avoid. It means we found it easily in the dark, which could have been tricky otherwise.
-
"Third visit."
Wonderful experience as always.
-
"A lovely cottage in wonderful scenery."
Very comfortable, and well equipped with everything you could need for a self catering holiday. Scenic views from the upstairs living room, enjoyed watching the sheep , and the farming activity. We will certainly be back.
-
"Just home after a lovely week at Shepherds Hut, to celebrate our Golden Wedding Anniversary with some family."
The countryside around was just so lovely, quiet, and relaxing, watching the sheep all around the property. Everything there exceeded our expectations, all you could ever need was there, its just so peaceful, and we all loved the choice we made for our special time together.
-
"On arrival the property was immaculately presented."
It was extremely well equipped and the quality of the furnishings and equipment was high. Would definitely recommend to friends and family. An amazing cottage.
-
"Perfect countryside views, very clean and comfortable and a lovely stay on a working farm."
The hosts respected our space but reacted quickly when we reported a problem with the internet which was repaired next day. A good area for day trips and walking and bird watching.
-
"Lovely quiet place to stay, a bit like the tardis , much bigger on the inside than it looked from outside."
The local pub had delicious food and a good place to stay for for exploring the area, would definitely consider staying there again.
-
"Shepherd's Hut was just perfect."
Standing alone in the middle of a working farm surrounded by fields and some sheep. It was idealistic! The barn had beautiful uninterrupted views from all angles. It was pristine clean and had everything we needed from pegs for the washing line to a hairdryer and kitchen products and utensils we needed daily. The garden was gated and the upstairs had a stair gate which meant it was incredibly safe for our young children too. I could not recommend it enough. Beaches and most tourist attractions were about 30 minutes drive away. We wish we could have stayed longer!
-
"We really enjoyed our stay at Shepherd's Hut."
The only improvements we could suggest would for a large ceiling fan upstairs as it gets quite warm and also possibly some netting around the Velux windows to keep out insects. Other than that we loved it and are looking forward to returning next year!
-
"Amazing barn, fantastically clean and tidy."
Super location and a great relaxing break. I could go on and on it was fab.
-
"Very enjoyable Christmas holiday at Shepherds Hut and was exactly what we needed as a family."
Must remember to take a hairdryer though if we go again!
-
"Absolutely fabulous weekend away in a spotless cottage with everything we needed."
Very well organised with all of the utensils, facilities and kitchen equipment to easily make breakfast for everyone without any trouble. Our only minor feedback is that the road sign is hard to find at night and would benefit from a light - we drove past it a few times without realising or even seeing it! More signage on the farm track would also be beneficial. Perhaps too much of a hidden gem!
-
"What an absolute gem this property was."
Found on a search it’s pictures didn’t do it justice. Very well equipped with all the instructions plus loads of information about what’s on locally. Fabulous. Will definitely be recommending it.
-
"Best cottage holiday we have booked so far."
Far better than pictures. Very well equipped in the kitchen. Came home feeling thoroughly relaxed and happy. Perfect location for countryside views and walks.
-
"Would highly recommend The Shepherd;s Hut."
Location good base for all Dorset has to offer, in a lovely rural position. Great to see the farm animals and the daily running of the farm. Flies were a pest, but not unexpected, as part and parcel of staying on a farm. Everything you could possibly need was provided at The Hut with the little extra touches of a cake and some milk, which was very much appreciated. Had a problem with the electric kettle and this was replaced immediately. Great place to stay with dogs and children.
-
"The Shepherd's Hut was really lovely."
It's set in beautiful countryside on a peaceful farm. There's walks all around the farm as well as lots to do in the local area. The house itself was spacious, well equipped and immaculately kept.
-
"Amazing place-much bigger than it looks on photos and in such a peaceful, beautiful setting."
Host was extremely friendly and helpful and lgreat location for getting to tourist places. We would love to stay again
-

5 Star quality for a self catering accommodation.
-
"No, it was all good."
Especially enjoyed the 'rounding up of the sheep' display from the large window!!
-
"Eight years in a row to this lovely place."
Always get the wow factor walking up the stairs to the views of the farm. Always clean. The milk and cake is always appreciated after the journey to start are holiday. Our dogs love the freedom of the large garden and the walks in the area. Leanne has helped us out over the years, always with a smile. The 2 weeks go by too fast. We miss the sunrises and sunsets and just the peace from this beautiful hut. Thank you for another great holiday. Trudy Gary Robert Molly & Adam. The terriers Wilf and Bo send a big Woof.

"Just got home from a fabulous week meeting up with family at Shepherd’s Hut."
The location of the property on a working farm meant there was always something to watch from the stunning window upstairs in the lounge. Being set away from the road, it feels remarkably peaceful. We were amazed how they have fitted in such spacious accommodation on such a small footprint. The cottage was clean, comfortable and extremely well equipped. We enjoy baking whilst on holiday and the kitchen had everything we needed. We even purchased flour and rapeseed oil produced on the farm. (I’ve made bread from the flour on returning home and discovered what bread is supposed to taste like! Delicious!).The little extras waiting for us on arrival were a lovely touch. We would love to return.
-
"The Shepherds Hut was brilliant."
Lovely small personal touches which made our stay all the more relaxing and effortless! The hut was far enough away to get away from ‘it all’ but close enough to local town to be able to get any bits and pieces we needed! A really relaxing location and a well equipped house. We would definitely recommend. We loved it!
-
"The cottage is incredibly well appointed."
Small welcome touches upon arrival were also greatly appreciated. Very well situated and allows easy commutes to sights and experiences that are relatively close by. Would definitely and have recommended to friends.
-
"Had a wonderful break at Shepherds Hut."
Fantastic conversion, private and away from other buildings. Helpful but not intrusive hosts. The cottage had every single thing you could want for. 5 stars
-
"We have stayed in some wonderful cottages with Sykes."
The Shepherds Hut exceeds all the other cottages by far. The location was perfect for visiting all the Dorset sites. The facilities within the barn were outstanding. I cannot imagine we could have a found anything we needed that wasn't there already. We had snow during our 2 week stay and it was beautiful to look over the hills from the barn. The view from the huge windows is wonderful and so relaxing. We were not bothered by the manager of the holiday home unless we asked for help, then we were given all the help we needed. Perfect cottage and we would highly recommend The Shepherds Hut!
-
"Mine and my girlfriend's stay here was phenomenal."
An incredible location (very private as well), stylishly decorated and with all the things we needed already inside. I can't recommend Shepard's Hut highly enough. It made our first holiday together one that I'll always remember extremely fondly. Will definitely come again... just got to hope it's not already booked!
-
"This is an excellent accommodation, idea for visiting many of Dorset's attractions."
-
"Fabulous - our 5th stay at Shepherds Hut and already booked our 6th - that speaks for itself."
Its a hidden gem that we come back to year after year.
-
"Disappointed not to meet anyone at the property either owner or manager throughout the week"
-
"A perfect place to unwind with our young family and dog and well located for visiting the Jurassic coast."
Many hours spent watching the lambs out of the window!
-
"Fantastic property, pictures didn't do it justice."
Beautiful location and very homely. Would definitely stay again.
-
"Shepherds hut was booked as a suprise for my husband's 60th birthday, he was overwhelmed when he saw the property, as was I & our daughter who was here from South Africa."
We also had friends stay from friday - sunday. We had a brilliant week, weather was also very good for November, with some amazing places to visit. I would not hesitate to recommend the property & would live to come back one day.
-
"The cottage was very very clean."
This was our third visit and we will be back again soon. Thankyou A Ede
-
"A fabulous gem."
We have been coming here the last 6 years. Perfect for us and our two dogs. Location very central to our trips out. The peace is just the tonic we need to help recharge our batteries! We met the cleaner this year. A lovely lady who enjoys her work and it shows. The Hut is spotlessly clean on arrival. I'm sure we will be back still so much to explore in Dorset. Thank you.
-
"The pictures just don't do this cottage justice."
The whole area is beautiful and everyone on the farm is really friendly. Absolutely loved it at the Shepherd's hut and can't wait to return
-
"Great holiday - easy booking and lots of communication running up to holiday."
-
"Very well furnished and comfortable."
Views were outstanding. Would recommend the walk from Lulworth to Mupe bay but it is important to check that the firing ranges are clear. You can do this online.
