  • "The property was immaculate and the owners had thought of everything you would need, the furniture was comfy and we really felt relaxed in lovely surroundings."

The views are to die for such a lovely setting. The welcome pack was a lovely surprise and very much appreciated especially since lockdown it was nice to have all the little things back like books etc. If we are back in the area we would definitely book coastguard lookout again.

Thank you for your lovely review, very much appreciated. Property Owner

  • "Modern well furnished home."

Sea is visible from upstairs. Plenty of space. Beds very comfortable. We didn't cook but all the cooking tools and oven there. My only niggles were no shaver socket in the bathroom so I had to get Amazon to deliver an adaptor to charge my electric toothbrush. Also the fridge was not particularly cold even on number 5 setting. Would highly recommend.

  • "Coastguard Lookout is a very cosy place to stay in winter (we had howling South Westerly gales and incredibly heavy rain overnight)."

The views over the Fleet lagoon towards Chesil Beach each morning were lovely. The kitchen is well equipped, beds and the living area very comfortable. We would happily stay here again.

  • "Lovely house spotlessly clean, well equipped with good quality throughout."

Really comfortable beds, loads of storage space for clothes etc. Milk, cereals, snacks, tea and coffee left by owner also all lovely quality. Owner sent an email prior to our journey with all information we needed and also one to say that we could go into the property early, which was really appreciated. I also have found all Sykes staff very friendly and they make doing business really easy to do. They are always my first choice.

About the location

WYKE REGIS

Weymouth 2 miles; Dorchester 9 miles.

Wyke Regis is a village on the south western side of Weymouth that sits on the northern edges of Portland Harbour and reaches as far as the back of Chesil beach and The Fleet, just two miles from the centre of Weymouth. There are local shops, cafés and restaurants including the famous Crab House café, with it’s own oyster beds on the doorstep. The National Sailing School, an Olympic legacy, offers a wide variety of water sports and is just two miles away on the edge of Portland Harbour. The Fleet Lagoon that runs between Wyke Regis and Chesil beach is an important area for wildlife and there are many species of birds to be seen in the area, whilst Chesil beach is also a renowned spot for fishing. The Fleet is probably most famous for being the testing ground for Barnes Wallis’s bouncing bomb, immortalised in the film the Dam Busters. Wyke Regis is the perfect location from which to explore many of Dorset’s most iconic locations on the Jurassic Coast.
