  • "Great property, comfortable and all necessary equipment to make a great holiday (never seen so many glasses in a rental before)."

Ideal location near two small beaches. For those travelling with anyone less mobile Castle Cove has some very steep stairs and one of our elderly Labradors had to be carried up, luckily mum made it up under her own steam. We had great weather most of the week and thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

  • "A lovely property in a great quiet location."

Less than 5 minutes to the Sandy beach. The house was lovely and clean and had everything we needed and more. Off street parking but there was always lots of spaces. The house was actually larger than I expected which was a great surprise. We have already booked for next year (you can publish that bit)

  • "The holiday cottage was well equipped and comfortable."

Unfortunately the cleanliness of the kitchen/ dining room was very poor. Before unpacking our food I had to wipe down the surfaces, which were very dirty. Also you could write in the dust/grime of the cooker hood. The dining table was also very dirty. My grandson sat on the sofa in the dining room and came out in hives. When I looked under the cushion it was covered in dust/grime, so had to hoover it, to find out the hoover was full and blocked. I don’t believe this is down to the owners, but the cleaning team at Dream cottages. I have taken pictures if they are required.

A very short walk to two lovely beaches and a short walk into town. Perfect. We will almost certainly book again next time we are down.

  • "Overall very comfortable and well equipped house just a few minor observations: 1."

Hot water scalding and not safe especially for children - temp. needs adjusting to nearer 60 ° recommended. 2. Heated towel rail not working in gf shower - maybe just needs fuse. 3. Need more door towel/clothes hooks. 4. Ask housekeeping for better quality toilet paper!

  • "We really enjoyed our holiday at Sandsfoot Rest."

The house had all the facilities needed for anything we needed. The beds were comfortable. The house is a stones throw from a lovely little cove, great place to walk dogs. Parking is out on the road but had no issues with parking 2 cars at any time of day or night. The house is central to the shops and harbour. We will definitely return.

The property is lovely, plenty of space every need catered for especially the kitchen, puzzles ect were are a great idea enjoyed doing a couple of those during the week, only criticism would be it could do with a deep clean, (corners, underneath, behind in general) whilst getting an extra cup coaster from cabinet behind door in lounge I had to put my hand in a very thick dirty crusty cob web that had obviously been there quite some time, other than that a lovely stay very comfortable feel to the place felt like home straight away

The bedrooms are all a lovely size and having 2 bathrooms is great. We managed to find parking everytime although sometimes a bit further from the house. Everything we needed and more was supplied in the house. The outside space was lovely with a small summer house. We had a lovely relaxing week.

Great holiday home it was warm & cosy with lovely clean bedding towels Only nit picking with some negatives it could do with a de-cobweb clean in lampshades vents & windows Please put in some new dining chairs the ones there are tinny, rusted & not comfortable Garden patio was covered with lots of debris from banana tree Overall we really enjoyed our stay at Sandsfoot great location with two small beaches on the door step for our dogs to enjoy We would definitely go back and can recommend it for a relaxing holiday

  • "The house was lovely, and was accurately described."

Positives: fantastically well equipped kitchen, it had everything you could possibly want including lovely big pans and loads of utensils, crockery and glassware (unlike so many holiday cottages which are woefully inadequate), king-sized bed and singles very comfortable, big sofa lovely and squishy, nice courtyard with covered area for bikes and washing, washing line, really nicely decorated, great showers, good wifi. Slight negatives: double bed a bit lumpy, TV a bit glitchy and not many channels. Things the owners should make more of in their description: make it clear there is a downstairs loo (I thought there was, but I wasn't sure), but mostly - the fantastic easy access to the beautiful Rodwell trail, which we used for running, biking and walking. Also the easy rear cycle access to the house and dry storage for the bikes :-) Overall, it was a fantastic house for a week in Weymouth, and we had no problems parking. We even stupidly locked ourselves out on one occasion, and the Dreams cottages lady had the problem sorted out - cheerfully - within half an hour. Thank you :-)

  • "Sandsfoot Rest was in a great area handy for both beach, harbour and the Rodwell trail."

As the weather was blowing a hooly and raining most days it was very pleasant to return to the cottage for warmth and shelter. Ample room for two of us and our dog to enjoy a cosy night in. We know the area very well and free parking was a bonus. The window blinds in the front room could do with updating and the larger sofa was not very comfortable but that said it didn't spoil our stay. With regard to Sykes emails I've been bombarded with them within days of signing up - one confirming my booking should be sufficient until feedback required!

  • "On using the shower on the saturday we had water coming through the kitchen light fitting,we called the OOH number to be told , leave the key and we will get someone out to fix it, we left a note saying what this issue was a we left two 15 yrs old playing x box, when the plumber came he told them that he didn't no what was up and that he had been on call since 4am and should have finished at 6pm ( it was now about 7pm), the next day we called again at about 0730 no response called again about 0900 and then recieved another call to check what the issue was again to be told plummer was on his way, he turned up but could find no issues, later that day someone e had a shower and water came through again on further inspection we found a nail in the ceiling that had come loose and someone had put a glass bowl under it to catch water, so we called again, eventually Dave from dream cottages came Monday morning with the Plummer who said that the owners had been aware of the leak and that they had put the bowl up there, the Plummer then said that when he attended on the saturday evening he had been aware that the water was coming through the light fixture but he should have finished his shift at 6pm so he did nothing, we found the whole situation unacceptable there was no urgency and no communication from the weekend staff,it was the first time my parents had been out as my mum had been shielding and we expected better from you, eventually when Dave got involved on the Monday things started to happen but being left with out a usable shower from Mon - Fri wasnt the best out come but the alternative was to cancel our holiday, if the owners were aware they should have sorted out the issue and not left it, it's not as though they have had bookings all year !"

Other issues were cleaning, we were told we couldn't access the property until 5pm due to additional cleaning which is fair enough, we found a sock under the sofa in the dining room presumably from the previous tenants there was a tea bag in the tea caddy and although we were told no food was to be left in any cupboards or the fridge when we left there was cereals and condiments in the cupboards We just thought that the standard of cleaning wasnt up to scratch due to the current climate, luckily I had brought anti bacterial spray ect , but again it's not something you expect to be doing on arrival Can I just say that Dave and the OOH lady that was working on the Sunday in the call centre (not Angela) were really good

After having our check in time put back an extra hour " to clean efficiently for covid" we were a little disappointed that the house was no where near spotless, yes it was clean and livable to a degree but expected more given the current circumstances, the sofa in the lounge was so uncomfortable and the heating instructions are no longer correct in the welcome file, requesting in us not being able to put the heating in in the evenings,

Good sized accommodation. Always managed to park very near on same street. Beds all very comfortable. Well appointed kitchen ideal for cooking a big family meal. Very useable outside space. Codfathers in nearby street well worth a visit. Quick to walk into town or by coastal scenic route. Only one niggle issue, the large sofa in the lounge not very comfortable otherwise a lovely house and would recommend.

  • "It's a big house in a lovely location."

The beds were clean and comfortable and the facilities provided were very good. Great for smaller numbers staying. The shops and beach are close by and we enjoyed some lovely walks. The house is clearly big enough to sleep up to 8 (with the sofa beds) and has a big kitchen and outside space, but having one bathroom really lets that down. A socket in the bathroom would be ideal too to charge an electric toothbrush during your stay.
