  • "This is a lovely place with very friendly hosts."

Our daughter was entranced with the rabbits in the garden and we saw a kingfisher, a fox and bats over our 6 night stay. There are wonderful things for families to do and see in the area and walks directly accessible from the property. The games room is a great idea although we had little time to use it as the weather was so good.

Everything was just as we expected, clean, bright and airy. We loved the log burner made things extra cosy. The location is just perfect for popping into Wells and exploring Cheddar, Glastonbury and we even went to the coast. Would definitely recommend.

  • "What a delightful cottage."

We received a very impressive welcome pack which was much appreciated. The cottage is delightful and so peaceful. The beds were really comfy and the kitchen was well equipped. The wet room was ideal for my husband who has Parkinson's. The outside patio area was secluded and ideal for sitting and enjoy the sunshine. The food in the local pubs was of a good standard. The cottage is ideally situated for exploring the area.

Spotless and in a beautiful setting. If we had any gripes. It would be. The two sofas. Extremely low and need replacing. With arthritic hip problems. Getting up from them was a struggle. Other than that. It’s class all round. Plus the hosts were wonderful . A very high standard.

Nice sitting in the courtyard for meals when weather suitable. Lovely views. Probably only comment we found the settee too low and soft for our age group. We found plenty of local places to visit. Also places to eat not too far away if u didn’t want to cook in. Would recommend and would book again if wanting to be In that area.

  • "Stunning location, peaceful, yet only a 5 minute drive into Wells."

The games room was an added bonus. The outdoor space is wonderful for cricket, football, and running around with the kids. Lovely loop walk right out the back gate. Patio space was perfect. We were lucky with the weather and had breakfast outside every morning with that magnificent view. Indoors, the space is large too, with two bathrooms, it is the perfect family getaway.

It is a very homely place with a nice feel to it, and met all our needs. The location suited us perfectly and the owners - Pauline and David - are such lovely people. Without being intrusive, they made sure that we knew they were there if we needed anything. What a lovely couple. We would recommend The Milking Parlour to anyone looking for a peaceful stay in beautiful surroundings, with many interesting attractions within an easy drive. Thanks again to Pauline and Dave for a lovely stay.

The photos did not do it justice. The welcome pack including wine was very well received. The owners were friendly but unobtrusive. The patio and orchard gave us a brilliant outdoor space. The games room was an added bonus which allowed me to have the space to take myself off to do yoga each morning. One of the best cottages we've stayed in. Thank you.

  • "The cottage was very comfortable in a lovely area."

It was like a home from home. It was lovely to go back in the evenings and relax in front of the log burner which kept us nice and warm. We thoroughly enjoyed the welcome pack which was a nice touch. There were lots of things to do in the area. Wells a short distance away was beautiful. The coast was about 40 minutes away. And clarkes village was worth visiting. Didnt have enough time to visit everywhere but will return very soon.

  • "Excellent accommodation."

Apart from the step to the front and back door, the property is all one level which was great for my walking with crutches. I particularly appreciated the wet floor shower which I have not got at home. Once out on the patio there is a nice view of the orchard and Mendip hills which is very relaxing. There were a few essentials provided by Mr & Mrs Collins including bread, milk, eggs and a bowl of fruit. There was also a bottle of wine in the fridge. All very thoughtful. The games room is also an added bonus leadingto a daily game of table football. Definitly one of the best properties that we have stayed in.

The Milking Parlour accommodation ticked all the boxes for our Xmas getaway - spacious ,great facilities for cooking on the big day, log burner, peaceful setting, close to nearby places of interest as well as country walks and great food in local pubs. Loved the games room and super comfy sofas and beds. The owners welcomed us and then left us to it but were contactable should we have needed anything( which we didn't as everything is well maintained and organised). They also provided a generous welcome pack, bottle of chilled wine and fresh flowers. The apple orchard provided mistletoe and holly to add to the decorations and Xmas spirit!

The owners were very welcoming, leaving some goodies for our arrival which were most appreciated. The Milking Parlour is in a great location and a great base for exploring the surrounding area. The games room was a big hit with our 7 year old and we all had fun with the table tennis. It's only short walk to the Ring O'Bells pub (make sure you're hungry as portions are very generous!). Can recommend Puxton Park near Weston for those with children - a great day out.
