  • "Brilliant location for those wanting to commute into London return cost into Fenchurch Street Station £13 or £21."

80 if including a zone 1-6 travel card. Outside lighting to identify the flat number and its keysafe would make life easier for autumn/winter bookings. Fiona was helpful when asked by phone for help and advice during my stay and I will definitely stay again. Feedback from Oct21 was concerned about cleanliness of the flat and I can confirm it was in an acceptable condition. Thanks again Fiona, hope to stay in your flat again in 2022. Regards Lucy

  • "What a disappointment!"

Already starting at home. The owner wouldn’t let me use the mailbox to get my day 2 testkit delivered at the property. So I had to make an appointment at a clinic for triple the price. Upon arrival the place wasn’t as clean as I am used of Sykes rentals (I’ve been renting for over 15 years with them). I called Sykes and they called the owner whom said they didn’t have enough time to clean it. Between 10.00 and 15.00, for such a small place? For example: bins not empty/cleaned, dust flakes all over the living room floor, the sink so sticky, the kitchen floor sticky, the fridge/freezer not clean (even hairs in the freezer). On top of it all underpants in the washing machine. The bath towel had yellow stripes as if someone had a bad spray-tan. The mattress had stains on it and you sleep directly on the mattresses springs, a topper would be nice! Also a welcome book with some directions about the house would be nice, or a phone-call from the owner. I tried to reach them for some information, such as the wifi password, but they didn’t answer my call. On the plus-side: the neighborhood is very quiet at night, the train-station just a 5 minute walk and a 30 minute ride to London. While I normally would recommend any of the houses, I will not be recommending this one to anybody. I have come to expect a higher standerd for Sykes, this really was a let down.

  • "After a long journey from the Wirral we arrived at Caspian Way to find that the key was not in the key safe."

On phoning the given number we were told that there was a mix up with the booking and someone would bring the key. An hour later a man arrived. He explained that someone had been staying the previous week and as no one was expected the house had not been cleaned or made ready. He was very pleasant and apologetic. The bins were full (Covid?). One clean towel, I managed to find clean sheets to change the bed. The mattress was unpleasant to look at and horrible to sleep on. I have a photograph. This property is on a very nice estate. It would have been perfect for us. Sykes let us down. The day after I cleaned the kitchen and bathroom thoroughly. Really not good enough.
