  • "Tuffon Hall was a fabulous place to stay it is so well equipped and very comfortable."

We had a family gathering and the space the house offers is just brilliant, you never feel on top of each other. I could not recommend it more. Some of us also did the vineyard tour and tasting which was so informative and Liz made it such a pleasurable afternoon for us. So if you get the opportunity you should try. Huge thanks for everything Liz.

Liz was incredible from the start, so accommodateing to all we asked, every email sent was responded to very quickly and always so helpful. Steve that did our Vineyard tour was AMAZING we loved him, and the wine tasting was just the cherry on the cake. Highly highly recommend everything. ❤️

  • "The farmhouse was both grand and impressive for entertaining, and cozy and peaceful for relaxing."

Communication was most helpful and informative from before to after the booking. The welcome gifts were a very generous touch. I would highly recommend you also book a Vineyard tour (that ends with a tasting in the beautiful barn next door) with your stay, if there is availability. It was a high point of the weekend learning about premium English wine with Liz, and the grazing platters we opted to book with our tasting were delightful. Reading any previous reviews that have made suggestions, I found that these have clearly been taken seriously and acted upon. A very memorable stay, thank you.

Dear Zeina, thank you so much for taking the time to leave a review and such a wonderful one too! We are delighted that you all enjoyed your time at Tuffon Hall and the house and tour were to your liking. It was lovely to meet you all and I do hope that you come back and visit again soon. • "The house was perfect for our family celebrating a big birthday."

The house has everything you need, it’s well equipped for all your needs, clean and tidy. We just loved it and would definitely go back. We didn’t however enjoy cooking on the Aga, for 12 people cooking took forever. It’s so hard to work and understand cooking times. We managed it but I think as you have the room to put a normal over in the other kitchen that would be most beneficial. We are already planning when we can come back.

Dear Elaine, thank you for your wonderful review, we really do appreciate you taking the time. We are so pleased the farmhouse was to your liking and perfect for your family celebrations. I do hope you found the AGA cook book and instructions left in the kitchen and that helped. We would love to see you back here at Tuffon Hall. With very best wishes from all of us. Property Owner

The grape gin and sparkling wines from the vineyard that we ordered were very good and loved the personal welcome and gifts on arrival too.

  • "We have just returned from Tuffon Hall after the most wonderful weekend ."

We were a group of 9 ladies with lots to celebrate and Tuffon Hall was just the perfect setting. We were even greeted by a beautiful welcome gift on our arrival of wine and treats which was really unexpected. The house is stunning, the beds were super comfy, the duvets and pillows were fluffy and the whole house is super clean and wonderfully cosy. We enjoyed parties in the kitchen, cosy afternoons by the log fire and fabulous walks. They have literally thought of everything, the house is so well equipped even down to spare wellies. Only tiny issue was we ran out of toilet tissue but with 9 women under one roof could there ever be enough?

Dear Emma, thank you so much for your wonderful review - we really appreicate it. Based on the photos of the property it looked very spacious and this did not disappoint at all. The whole house is amazing with ample space for our celebrations and at the same time you can also find a quiet corner to read or just chill out. The dining room is stunning, took our breath away and makes you feel like you are in a Manor House! The house was also beautifully decorated for Christmas and the welcome pack was very generous - many thanks. We loved that although the vineyard was closed whilst we were there, there was a selection of wines and gins in the house which you could purchase should you so wish. Tuffon Hall is in a lovely and relaxing setting with plenty of space inside and out plus ample parking too. We would highly recommend this holiday accommodation, do not hesitate to book it. We all had the most amazing time making more special memories for us to cherish! Thank you so much to Liz and her team.

  • "In general the property was lovely, however look up and there were a lot of cobwebs and quite a few spiders on the ceilings, there was ant poison left on the floor in the dining room which is not great with young children behind a curtain is no deterrent for a 3 year old."

Towels could have been bigger in the bathrooms and some kitchen equipment was old, mis matched and worn out.

Dear Barbara, we are really disappointed to recieve this rating however thank you for your honest feedback. As you know from our previous corerspondance we are addressing your main concerns. To put your mind at rest, regarding your comment on ant poison, this is actually a child safe ant deterrant box and not harmful. We look forward to welcoming you back to Tuffon Hall. • "Lovely summer getaway with the whole family."

This place exceeded our expectations. The house boasts bags of character and is big enough to cater for a large group, and has good facilities. Everything was nice and clean, and seemed like it was well looked after. The outside space is amazing, with alot of greenery surrounding the house. The enclosed pond is the highlight of the property with ducks and fishes in it. However there are some things that need improvement, the living room sofa, the chairs in the dining room, and the mattresses need to be replaced, so that they can provide a more comfortable stay. The outside area has no lights at all after it gets dark, some lights would make it better. We would definitely recommend this property :)

Dear Fahema thank you so much for your review. We are delighted to hear you enjoyed your stay with us. We appreciate your feedback about the furniture and are currently reviewing our sofas and antique dining chairs, the matresses have recently been replaced. We do have exterior lighting but need to make sure the light switches are more accessible, we apologise you could not locate these. We look forward to welcoming you back to Tuffon Hall in the future. • "The house itself was lovely, but was let down by very poor cleaning."

There were cobwebs everywhere, mould in the master ensuite bathroom. The chairs in the dining room needed fixing and the sofas in the lounge are very tired. To top it off, in the master ensuite bathroom the waterfall section of the shower didn't work as it hasn't been cleaned in that long! If the house was having regular maintenance and cleaning then it would have been an outstanding place to stay.

Dear Philip Thank you so much for your comments, as a small family run business we rely on honest feedback and it is always our priority to ensure every guest has the best stay possible, so we thank you for drawing our attention to these matters. • "We had a lovely time at Tuffon Hall and it was perfect for what we wanted."

It was made even better by the vineyard tour and tasting expertly led by Liz. The wine was delicious, we particularly love the slightly pink fizz and the Baccus white. We found the property quirky and liked the antique look however some of the party felt the property was a bit tired as there were broken chairs, soggy sofas, frying pans that looked unusable, lack of microwave bowls etc. It didn’t feel luxury but it was the perfect size for a party of 10 and it felt warm and welcoming with a lovely outlook and surroundings so we were more than happy.

Hi Janie, we are delighted to hear that you all really enjoyed your stay and that the wine tasting was fun! Thank you for you feedback . Perfect for a family Christmas gathering - really well appointed rooms, fab for socialising or quiet time. Fireplace in lounge, cosy snug, great size kitchen, awesome dining room, fabulous sweeping stairs. Exactly what we hoped for. Could do with a few more kitchen items to help cater for 12 people making merry especially over Christmas when pans, cutlery etc are needed in abundance; but otherwise top notch.

We were 3 families and enjoyed a lot. Kitchen was great and we'll equipped and large enough as most of the times we were all in kitchen. Bedrooms were large and comfy. May be one feedback is some lights outside of property would be great, specially in winters as it gets dark there are no lights outside the property. Another small thing was WiFi was not so stable. Angus was really friendly. Gin and Vines were incredible. Overall a great holiday.

  • "Absolutely perfect setting amongst the vines and a stunning farmhouse."

Such a nice place to stay with friends. It is very spacious, well maintained and has a lovely grand but cosy feel. There are a couple of niggles. Don’t want to moan but quite useful for the owners to know how to improve. The wifi is very bad. It doesn’t work in wvery room and most of us couldn’t use it. I know it’s nice to be a le to switch your phones off but we brought speakers that connect to wifi so that was a real pain. The dining room light flickers so you can’t have it on. It’s quite a dark room anyway so you can’t eat in there in the evening unless you want to eat in the dark. The kitchen is stocked in quite an odd way. 12 egg cups but then no sharp knives. It has a weird mix of things and not enough of what you need e.g. good knives and pans. Not sure if it’s possible but it would be lovely if some of the plants were trimmed bacl that block the pond. When sitting outside it would be lovely to be able to look at the pond but you can’t see it. The TV doesn’t work, it might be because of the wifi issue but we couldn’t get freeview to work which was a shame. The place really is lovely but if those things were fixed it would be perfect!
