“The cottage was much better than we expected, everything was comfortable and was a perfect base to come and go as we pleased.”
“Cottage was pretty much expected, although smaller than it looked on line.”
There were three of us, 2 adults and a teenager. I think 4 adults would have been pushing it, and 4 adults and 2 children would have been a nightmare! We were disappointed that there was no BBQ which would have been good in the hot weather we enjoyed this year. We were very surprised that there was no information pack for the cottage. We are very happy to recycle our rubbish but had no idea which rubbish bin was for which rubbish! There was also no info about how to work the hot water or about local pubs etc. There were some leaflets about local attractions left by other visitors but it would have been nice to have a pack. On the plus side we had problems with the hot water due to a burst pipe up the lane and the owners were quick to respond and sent a plumber out that evening to fix it. The single bed that our daughter slept in constantly knocked against the radiator behind it every time she moved, which made an awful racket. Location of cottage fairly quiet and peaceful for a residential area.
“During the Christmas break the central heating went off between 10.”
and 3.30. we discovered that there was only half a bag of logs enough for about 2 /3 hours heating and it was too late then to go out and get any before Christmas- even if we had known where they could be found they would probably have sold out. The only option after a very cold day was go out and collect wood from the ditches.
“The owners supplied nice extras like toiletries & a welcome pack.”
Very good shower. Kitchen was well equipped.
“Only 2 teaspoons in cottage, definitely need more!”
Local pub very disappointing.
