  • "Lovely bungalow a short walk from sudbury town centre."

Although I never met Maggie the owner we spoke and texted and she was very helpful. I would suggest a new fridge freezer is needed soon as it makes a dreadful noise but other than that no issues.

  • "We had a wonderful week at 'Number Six' - the location is perfect, a very short walk into Sudbury which has numerous bars, restaurants and shops - but the bungalow was lovely and quiet."

Immaculately clean and had everything you need for a comfortable break away. Thank you for the basket of treats too !

  • "Fabulous property, a real home from home."

A lovely welcome pack, owners seem to have thought of everything to make your stay comfortable. Sudbury and surrounding area is full of great places to visit. An added bonus was a newly opened microbrewery at top of the road. All in all a great place to stay and look forward to return in the future.

  • "We had an amazing week at No 6 which offered all the comforts of home."

It is ideally situated in the heart of Sudbury, just a short stroll along a quiet street into the beautiful old town with its many independent shops and great eating and coffee premises. Within a 30 minute drive are many other stunning villages with their lath and plaster houses and places of great interest including where John Constable painted his famous picture The Haywain. Our hosts Maggie and Derek were a delight and did everything possible to make our stay a wonderful experience. We would highly recommend this property for a holiday whilst enjoying all the beauty of Suffolk.

She left a lovely welcome box for us with milk, cake, oatcakes, jam , bread and biscuits . We enjoyed it all. The bungalow is round the corner from the centre of Sudbury. The bedding and towels( huge bath sheets ) were crisp and white. We would highly recommend. We had a lovely stay and the bungalow is situated for easy travelling to National Trust and English Heritage sites.

The property was close to the town centre where there were lots of facilities but also nice and quiet in the evening. Maggie was most helpful and left a brilliant welcome pack for us. Lots of info too on attractions in the area. Would recommend to anyone thinking of staying in Suffolk.

  • "This delightful bungalow has been attractively decorated by its owners, and provides every home comfort."

Maggie and Derek were most solicitous to ensure that we had everything we needed, and the welcome pack that greeted us was generous and delicious. The bungalow is situated only a few minutes' walk from the town centre: easily accessible by car, but quietly off the beaten track. It ranks very highly amongst the properties we have rented over the years, and we therefore recommend it most warmly.

This small market town in Suffolk boasts pretty half-timbered houses, characterful sloping roofs and is home to the famous painter Thomas Gainsborough. Take a stroll along Gainsborough Street and down a little alleyway where you will find Gainsborough House, his birthplace and where he resided for many of his younger years. In this modest, late-medieval brick house is a marvellous collection of some of his finest work to be admired. Resting in the Stour Valley in an Area of Natural Outstanding Beauty, the surrounding majestic countryside of Sudbury is what inspired most of his paintings. Stroll along the River Stour and soak up the tranquil atmosphere or meander through The Croft with its green lawns and pretty wildlife, a lovely spot to take the kids to feed the ducks. Enjoy the beautiful architecture in the area, Sudbury presents a combination of Victorian terrace houses, Georgian manor houses and medieval timber framed Halls. Belle Vue Park is a lovely spot for kicking back and watching the world go by and there is an array of shops in the town to delight in. This ancient market town is only fifteen miles from Colchester where you will discover Colchester Castle, an 11th century edifice and manicured grounds, Hollytrees Museum showcasing local history exhibits, Colchester Zoo and the stunning High Woods Country Park. Sudbury is also not too far from the coast so why not take a day trip and explore the 350 miles of stunning shoreline in Essex, it is one of the most diverse places of surprising, natural wild beauty.
