The house is situated overlooking, an Area of Special Scientific Interest on the edge of the Walton Backwaters and is perfect for families or groups.

This is also the area which inspired Arthur Ransome to create the old time novel Swallows and Amazons and the film Snowgoose was also filmed here.

Walton-on-the-Naze is an historic seaside town on the Essex coast offering everything from bird watching to sea fishing. Every Thursday there is a market that offers local produce, fish, flowers and plants. There are also plenty of pubs and restaurants, including those selling the famous "pie and mash" of Old London - something to satisfy everyone's taste in this historic town. For the young at heart there is the Walton-on-the-Naze pier which offers all day entertainment for a one-off price, including ten pin bowling and rides. Why not take a boat trip to watch the seals resting on the mud banks or for the more adventurous, take a fishing trip where you can catch Skate, Cod or Sea Bass, when in season.
