  • "Another great stay at Little Thatch."

Was very clean and the Xmas decorations a nice touch. Cottage is in a great location for the small town and only a short walk to shops and pubs. We will be back again. Only one suggestion and that is that a lot of self catering properties have WIFI which would be useful.

  • "Superbly located, we walked along the beach and the Nature Reserve every day."

Walked to the town centre and the railway station. Recommend the Victory pub, good food and friendly staff and dog friendly. Quite a lot of traffic noise but didn’t cause us any problems, slept well during the night. The rear garden is fully enclosed, no worries about our small dog escaping. I am fast becoming an old codger (68 years old) felt safe and comfortable at the cottage at all times. Not sure how the owner new Gavi was my favourite wine and that I’m partial to a cream cake. I really appreciated this kind gesture. We would recommend Little Thatch and we would stay hear again.

  • "Little Thatch is a Pretty chocolate box cottage Located so close to the beautiful (dog friendly) Walton beach."

The path beside the house takes you there in a few minutes. The cottage is very well equipped, really cosy and there is lots of character and charm. A worn down step. Beams. Wonky walls, ceilings and floors. Exactly what you’d expect from a grade 2 listed building. I loved staying here and was sad to leave. The owner is very kind, leaving food gifts/drink. And telephoned to let us know that the cottage was ready for our arrival. It has a lovely enclosed garden which we all enjoyed (Misty the beagle too) as we were so lucky with the weather. A nice large shower and comfortable bed. As the beach is so close my husband and I walked to it at night to look up at the stars with little light pollution. Just wonderful! Looking forward to staying again in the future.

I would agree with a previous reviewer that the listing cannot do this property justice. Although it is undeniably a tiny cottage, the layout and use of space makes it feel, for two people, spacious and not at all cramped. Facilities are excellent. First rate.

The decor cleanliness/facilities and welcome package were exceptional. The garden was very dog and child friendly. Contact with mr mcdonald found him to be a kind caring host. The only drawbacks were the noisy motorcycle and traffic noise but it did die down between 8pm till 7am. Thoroughly enjoyed my short stay but being tall i did bang my head on low rafters and doorways but you just learn to duck.
