“The cottage was really well equipped, with everything you could possibly need to enjoy your stay.”
Would certainly recommend. The only feedback would be to replace the mattress of the master bedroom to provide more support.

“Skye House is a fantastic holiday house just outside Uig and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay there!”
The house is beautifully furnished, decorated and equipped - way beyond what you would expect in a holiday "cottage". It is just by the side of the main road from Portree to Uig, and so very easy and convenient; but there is no noise from the road as it is generally quiet. The main lounge is well equipped and comfortable with a large TV and DVD player, plus a wide selection of DVDs; plus it has lovely seaside views. The kitchen/diner is superb and almost literally "wants for nothing" - it is SO well set out and equipped! There is plenty of parking and the local shop is only a mile away; plus there is an excellent cafe/restaurant literally on the other side of the road. Overall rating = EXCELLENT !!- Andrew, September 2020
“Skye house was exceptionally comfortable.”
3 large double bedrooms, all ensuite. All riooms finished to a high standard. Everything provided - clothes wash facilities, huge clean modern kitchen with snug and wood burner. Outside decking to the rear with seating. Stunning view across loch snizort. 3rd visit pending.- Sally, August 2020
“Extremely well equipped and comfortable house, great views and within walking distance of the excellent Uig Hotel and Rankins shop and Post Office, for a bigger shop head to the Coop in Portree and there’s also the Lochalsh butchers shop which operates out of a portakabin in the Howdens car park.”
We also enjoyed delicious fish suppers from Galley Seafood on our first night, which is just across the road. Skye House is a superb base for visiting the north of Skye, however, be aware that many places are completely closed in the winter months, particularly hotels and cafes, despite there being quite a number of visitors - we’d done our research, but still found it quite disappointing.- Louise, December 2019
“Skye house is an amazing place, quiet, with fantastic views.”
The house is well appointed and... massive. During the off-season you need to be aware that restaurants and cafes may not be open every day, so make have some groceries in. The coop in Portree seemed to be the best stocked, so no need to bring groceries from the mainland, but if you just need some basics, try Rankins just down the road (~1m). If you don’t fancy cooking, there is a great cafe across the road called “The Galley” and The Uig hotel is excellent.- Alison, November 2019
“The cottage was stunning and a perfect base for our family holiday.”
The views from the house were gorgeous and the finishing touches were of a high quality. The kitchen was really well equipped, and there was a lovely welcome pack full of local Scottish goodies. Would love to return if we can!- Sharon, October 2019
“Beautiful cottage with internal high standards and the beds are so comfortable, 10/10 for location to enjoy stunning views coupled with total peace and quiet.”
Ferry 5mins for visits to Hebridean Islands. Dunvegan Castle only a short journey away. Lovely gift shops and amazing Moorag long horned cow pottery. All available in Uig. Nothing to stress you at all. Totally calming holiday. Beaches are stunning. Watch out for the midges head nets are available in the local stores.- Elaine, September 2019

“Incredible house, a lovely stay!”
Only thing was that the photos on the site don’t do the views from the house justice. The views from the entire house were stunning. A strong recommend, we loved it.- Chris, July 2019
A beautifully presented property on the outskirts of Uig in a remote area of the Isle of Skye, situated with views out to sea and the croft land.
Skye House features large glass windows and doors throughout the property, making the rooms light, bright and a sense of bringing the outside in.
The main living space is open-plan and on the left there is a seating area which centres around a large two-way fireplace, whilst the middle of the room has a beautiful dark wood dining table perfect for enjoying a delicious meal together, and on the far end you will find the stunning kitchen - featuring a traditional cream Rangemaster cooker, sleek wooden worktops and a Belfast style sink.
The kitchen is fully-equipped to a very high standard and boasts far-reaching views over the croft ground.
The additional lounge area is modern with plush seating, a fluffy rug and modern, painted-brick fireplace, giving you another space to sit back and relax as the sun goes down.
The large, Smart TV allows you to catch up with your favourite shows or watch a film on a rainy day.
Take five minutes, just for yourself, and relax with a book in the small office area, or check your emails if you really have to!

The village boasts two pubs, two shops, a hotel, a filling station and cafe, as well as two other businesses well-worth a visit. Uig Pottery sells a range of high quality pottery produced on-site, while the Skye Brewery sells its own superb real ales from the brewery shop. Sheltered by high cliffs, the bay is one of the most beautiful in Skye, and is home to the ferry terminal for the Outer Hebrides.
