  • "When we finally managed to find the lodge, we were welcomed by a damp musty smell and it was freezing inside."

The ‘welcome’ letter wanted a £50 deposit, £30 For electricity and £20 for WiFi.we had already paid in full so rather confusing. The kitchen was poorly equipped, no soap, no cloth to wipe down. Only 1 wine glass, miss match of cutlery which needed washing again. The oven and microwave were disgusting!! Refused to cook food in this kitchen. How anyone thinks this is acceptable is very wrong!! The whole lodge needed a good clean, tissues left in the living room, side lamp not working, fleece throw was dirty and the lodge info folder says dogs welcomed but not on the Sykes website, good job we’re not allergic to pets. Bedroom needed a good hoover and toilets needed bleaching. A very disappointing weekend, we only stayed the one night as we couldn’t cook food In such a dirty oven. I have photos Only good part was the (very) hot tub and even that could do with a clean rather than adding more chemicals, info folder says it’s emptied between each guest which I don’t believe We realise this isn’t the fault of Sykes but blame firmly les with the site management

  • "The lodge was difficult to find as the instructions are quite useless."

Had to look through reviews of the lodge to find proper directions. Hot tub and cooking/eating utensils were dirty upon arrival Wifi was charged at 20 pounds for the duration. On the Sykes website, it says it's included (very misleading) The woman working at reception of great Glen water park was rude and unpleasant

  • "The lodge itself was wonderful, however we had issue finding it the post code is for a very large area and the map marker on your website is on the wrong side of the loch along with the what3words location, for future reference the location of the cottage is drifters, pointed, pill which I took down sitting in the sitting room."

The directions could also do with a touch up, when coming from fort William it is the last left before the swingbridge between loch Lochy and loch Oich. And the lodge is the first wooden lodge on the left, there is no number anywhere on the lodge but there is a wooden sign on the roadside with a different name then the lodge on. It’s about 300yards down the road, if you meet the main lodges you’ve gone to far. Getting in was an issue, the keys had been left in the door but had been seen by a local before our arrival and had been returned to reception and we had a nightmare trying to get hold of those keys which were eventually given to us by a cleaner.
