The welcome pack was lovely (the bread was gorgeous). Underfloor heating in bedroom and bathroom felt luxurious. We were worried about the bed perhaps being too soft but it wasn’t and had the best nights sleep we’ve had in a long time - we intend to purchase the same mattress for our bed at home! We’ve had a wonderful holiday and have no hesitation in recommending the cottage.

  • "What is there not to like about this wee place?"

From the moment we arrived to the moment we left, we felt totally at home and so comfortable. The Wee Barn was super clean and cosy and was everything we had hoped for. The Welcome Pack was great and literally saved our bacon as we hadn't been able to get essentials in before arriving. The owner, Gael, was equally welcoming and lovely but not intrusive and was there to help if needed. The view from the cottage was breathtaking morning, noon and night and just sitting watching the little boat scurry back and forth to Scoraig was such a pleasure..the mountains, the loch and the sea changing with the weather. It was magical...we have certainly left a piece of our hearts there and we cannot wait to 'Haste ye back'.

Gayle and Dougie were perfect hosts. The Welcome Pack was greatly appreciated, as were all the other touches in the cosy accommodation. There is so much to do in the area or you can simply chill and take in the fantastic scenery. The stroll down to the jetty to watch the sunset was wonderful. I would certainly recommend the Wee Barn to those who are seeking a holiday in a truly stunning part of the world.

I chose to follow that direction expecting the pinpoint accuracy that the app provides and this was a mistake. The correct three words are trader superbly tentacles and NOT promotes tipping threading. The property and owner, Gael, were completely brilliant and the location is quite magnificent. Thank you.

Very quiet location (off the fast A832 road which is becoming increasing busy with North Coast 500 traffic) Small but perfectly ok for a couple, kitchen was better equipped than many holiday rentals (chopping boards, sharp knives etc). Under floor heating in bedroom and bathroom (nice) Only slight downside was a small fridge with tiny freezing compartment however the owner offered use of their home freezer.

Left alone by the owner despite only being next door which is good and helpful when required. Only negative comment is a better heating alternative required for the front room when we don't want to light the stove, for example at breakfast. The little heater provided was inadequate for the cold weather. The bed is too soft a mattress for us but I appreciate that is personnel taste. Other than that it was a very tidy cottage and exceeded expectations.

You have a Log burning fire and tv which also has netflix for when the weather isnt on your side. Its in a nice secluded location close to the water and the hills which have a excellent waterfall walk if you dont mind a rough step path. (Well worth the climb). • "First time user of Sykes, but this accommodation exceeded our expectations."

A small, remote cottage in the Western Highlands in the grounds of the owners house (Gael is friendly and welcoming), nearest town (Ullapool) about a 40 minute drive away, this small barn conversion has windows on just one side - overlooking Little Loch Broom where seals were seen on the rocks at the bottom of the lane, wild deer in the local fields and an eagle nearby! Quirky electricity arrangement which added to the charm (coin meter with reusable coins that drop into a box). Small kitchen, as expected, with natural light supplemented by a glazed fixed roof window. Could possibly benefit from a microwave (but not a showstopper) with shops a drive away it takes some planning! Comfortable double bed with duvet and the room has adequate cupboard and drawer space. Modern bathroom with good shower, heated floor. A quaint yet modern take on holiday accommodation.

The location is superb, the house is well-designed despite being small and the facilities and equipment are very good. The TV is not Freeview as described in the particulars; rather it is internet TV, but the broadband signal is generally good enough to view programmes satisfactorily although there is sometimes some buffering. Overall, we had a great holiday, helped by having superb weather!
