However the op went well and he was soon discharged. Problem was, where to go on holiday as the spring was a little late to book for the summer. We wanted to go to Scotland, to visit places like Eilean Donan Castle, Loch Ness, Glen Coe, take my son to Tobermory which was the location of his favorite TV series, and hopefully, weather permitting to climb Ben Nevis, Fort William seemed to be the ideal base for this, as it is central and has plenty of shops for supplies, so we were looking for a place round there. Looking around only one place was available, and that was Loch View Cottage. Why was it the only one left? Why had no one else booked it? Something must be wrong we thought. However after a two day journey from Swindon, stopping off at a hotel in Carlisle, we took one look at the cottage and decided we must have had the best. It was well supplied, two large double beds, and the views - fantastic. I was glad we were away from Fort William as the town was always packed, not just with people but traffic too. Blaiche was peaceful and quiet. My wife and son had a very nice peaceful day in the cottage whilst I was scaling Ben Nevis. So why did no one else rent this? Truth is I have no idea, I just don't understand why this one wasn't snapped up the year before. One word of warning though - to get to the cottage, you need to drive down a single track road alongside the loch, and some of the locals are very fast drivers, so take care along it, keep to the left as much as possible and slow down when approaching bends. There are also some very big lorries using the road as well. I recommend purchasing a low cost dashboard camera, which is what I did prior to our journey as a precaution.
