The cottage had everything we needed, the beds were comfy the kitchen well equipped. We all loved the views and the peace and quiet. Our holiday was made even more special by the local crofters that live down the lane. They talked to us about their way of life and their love of the ponies. Our daughter especially loved the new foal. I don’t think words can adequately describe the memories that we have made in your lovely cottage and beautiful island. Thank you Reviewed by HelenOct 2023 "A few logs and kindling for guests arriving would have been nice and surely not a financial burden to the owners." The property is very remote and as such it would have been nice to be able to put the burner on, on the first night, until guests are able to the buy some logs and kindling the next day. Reviewed by ClarkOct 2023 "Beautiful location at the top of Skye." Lots of hot water in the property and great central heating. beds were lovely and soft. WIFI was great. Would benefit from instructions for the oven and washing machine. More oven trays would help with cooking. Some of the ceramic ovenware needs replacing as badly cracked and may split. would be good to have a sieve or colander in the kitchen. The towels were very small. We kept our dogs on leads in the garden as there were lots of holes that they could escape through. Reviewed by JuneOct 2023 "A lovely cottage in wonderful location." Well equipped for everything you need for a good holiday. You have to travel to get necessary items but you can get what you need within a 10/15 minutes drive. Some wonderful scenery around this part of the Island. If you like walking then this is for you. The whole family , including the dog, thoroughly enjoyed our holiday and would recommend this place. Reviewed by RonaldSep 2023 "Excellent location for our requirements." Relatively quiet area of Skye. Good quality facilities, thoughtful and large garden. Would like to rent for two weeks but cost to high for my budget. Lovely house, owners takes an active interest. Many thanks Jon and Jan Reviewed by JonAug 2023 "This is a really lovely house in a beautiful location." We are a family of 2 adults, 2 teens and a dog and we enjoyed every minute of our 2 week stay. The weather was better then expected and we got out for walks every day. Lots straight from the door. We didn’t do a lot of the big tourist things as we prefer quieter spots but could have got to plenty if we wanted to. The house is pretty remote so things are often a decent drive away but once you get used to the roads they are easy to navigate. The shop on Staffin is well stocked for essentials and about 15 minutes drive away. House had everything we needed, to make a very comfortable holiday. Beds were comfy and the living room had plenty of room for all is us. The garden was secure for our dog (and she loved it) who doesn’t try and escape but if you have a dog who likes to wiggle out they may find a gap. I don’t think you could find a house with more spectacular views. Reviewed by JaneAug 2023 "Thank you for a wonderful stay at Hilltop House." Our family had a wonderful week. The property is in a great location, we visited the Old Man of Storr, the Quiraing, amazing dino footprints at Brother's Point, the beach at An Corran, the Skye Highland Games and took a wildlife boat tour from Portree! The washing machine and clothes airer were very helpful, especially with two boys. The house was comfortable and the mug selection was brilliant! A few kitchen items could possibly do with replacing (sharp knives and frying pan) but I would certainly recommend the property and loved our stay. Thank you. Reviewed by LoisAug 2023 "We were worried before coming this house may be too remote." But we found places to walk locally. Our car did not move off the drive until Thursday. We absolutely loved this holiday, we also got very lucky with the weather. Isle of Skye is fabulous.
