  • "The location of this cottage is ideal."

It's a short walk to the beach, and this part of Lewis offers several very enjoyable walks (mountains, coast, ...). No need to drive very far. And the shop (<5 mins drive) is very well stocked, so self-catering works well.

  • "Brilliant house - with almost everything one could want."

Excellent book collection of local matters. Lovely decor, comfy beds. A tiny detail... needs a new sharp veggie knife. It would have been nice to have a wee welcome pack (e.g. milk and bread) otherwise PERFECT!

  • "This was a delayed retirement adventure around the Western Isles."

7A Ardroil was at the end of the journey, and we had a wonderful time. The facilities were excellent, and we did not even have the dilemma of jigsaw completion-the Regency-style table was ideal leaving the kitchen table for meals. The library and pictures were superb. And there was a choice of Lewis chessmen with which to play. Uig beach is a stone throw away and the cliff-walking was stunning. And the weather was brilliant.

  • "We had a great week at the house, which was comfortable and generously equipped."

Personal items like maps, books and local guides were hugely appreciated. Anna was in contact when we needed help, and she had prepared the house beautifully. It is in a fantastic spot - the surrounding area is stunning, and it was a brilliant base from which to explore. We loved it. Thank you.

  • "My husband and I have just returned after the most relaxing and wonderful holiday."

This property was wonderful, comfortable with all the facilities we needed for an amazing trip. The location was great, easy to find and made for a fantastic first trip to the Isle of Lewis. We had one slight issue requiring maintenance while we were there and this was quickly arranged. The property was well-stocked with guidebooks, maps and information about the island which made for an even better experience.

  • "We loved the house, which was very well appointed and comfortable, with the best library of books and maps for the local area which we have ever seen in 50 years of holidaymaking!"

However, we do have a few suggestions for improvement - 1. The lighting in the lounge was very poor for reading purposes ( you can tell we love books!). Perhaps the inclusion of a specific reading lamp might be good. 2. The kitchen knives in the block are very blunt - Knife sharpener needed maybe? 3. We had some very fine weather and it would have been good to sit in the garden in a freestanding" chair at the end of the day, rather than just at the fixed bench attached to a table. 4. Our dog managed to go through the bars of the gate. ( It was ok as we were there). However, perhaps some chicken wire across the bottom two gaps on the gateway might make it more secure for dogs. Despite the above, we still had a wonderful time, and would thoroughly reccommend! Thankyou Gwenda

There is all what you need, enough space for a family of four. We recommend!
