  • “We had difficult time figuring out the water heater for the first few days of our stay.”

Sometimes we end up warming up the water from the kettle just to have a shower or use it for personal use. I tried to call the customer service of sykescottages but hard time to reach them because of the high volume of calls, etc. So I just figure out how to TIMED it on my own to accomodate us on the times that we needed the hot water and times that we don’t. Also, in my whole experience of renting out a self catering accomodation. This is actually our first time that at the check out; you are the one who needs to remove all the linens, pillow cases and duvet cover of your bed and put it the laundry bag. Maybe because of the COVID situation but I can’t see the difference whether we remove it or them. They are still the one who is going to wash it. So why pass the responsibility to the customer? Anyway, we just did it. We leave the unit nice and tidy as instructed in the email they sent. The house has an amazing view of the mountains from the living room window especially seeing that early in the morning and while having breakfast. If you decide to walk from the house going to Fort William Town Centre, It will take you around 30-45 mins. depending on your speed. 45mins.- 1hr. (House to Fort William Station). If you will take a cab; around £6- £8 (10 mins. drive) Book Speeders Cab. They are much quicker than the A&A Taxis. Recommendation: I would suggest that you leave a note or manual on what to do or how to operate heater, water heater incase this won’t work. It’s really hard to live to a place without this essentials even though you have a nice place and view. In general, we had a nice time and relaxing week.
