  • "Lovely apartment!"

One suggestion might be some shelves in the bathrooms for guests to put their toiletries. Thank you for you hospitality.

  • "Just a couple of things - there were no pegs or a place to dry clothes, some of the cooking trays were very rusty, a vacuum cleaner was not provided to clean during the week."

Other than that it was a fantastic location. Quiet & stunningly beautiful.

  • "The apartment was exceptionally well-appointed, clean and spacious, with wonderful views and a lovely sitting out area with picnic benches in front of the house."

The kitchen was generously equipped with nice cockery, cutlery and glasswear, and the cooking utensils provided were excellent. We enjoyed the sense of spaciousness in all the rooms and the high standard of furnishings and decor throughout. We were warmly welcomed and settled in and simply cannot recommend Ceol na Mara highly enough. I have personally stayed in many cottages on Skye over the past twenty years or so and can honestly say this is one of the very best. The campsite area is very well managed and simply does not intrude on the privacy of the apartment in any way, We have thoroughly enjoyed our time there and were very reluctant to leave when the time came to return home. Our thanks to the friendly and efficient owners who have done so much to provide a really great base for the holidaymakers who stay with them.

  • "This is a great let."

Views across the sea, through picture windows. Well insulated and well equipped, friendly people on the site and we were left to ourselves. Quite a few places to visit in the locale. Will recommend and rebook.

  • "It was a completely wonderful holiday in a beautiful location in a fantastic apartment."

The owners were really friendly too!! A small point - there was a delicious cake for us when we arrived, but no tea, coffee, milk, or sugar to make a drink to have with the cake! Everywhere we have ever booked with Sykes and through other websites, always provide a 'basics kit'. In the directions you should mention it's through the gate to the campsite, as we arrived but turned round when we got to the gate, thinking it couldn't be on the campsite!!

The property

Uig 1.5 miles.

This lovely upper floor self-contained apartment is situated to the rear of the owner’s home, close to the village of Uig, on the Isle of Skye.

With a garden to the front that borders the seashore, this welcoming apartment provides cosy, well-equipped accommodation that’s ideal for a family or group of friends who will just love the convenience and views on offer here.

You enter into a ground floor hall with stairs leading to the spacious first floor accommodation.

There are three generously proportioned bedrooms, one with an en-suite shower room, and the open plan living area has a well-equipped kitchen where meals can be prepared and enjoyed together around the large table.

This room also has a small seating area and a clever window design that can be opened up on warm days to form a small balcony from which the fresh sea air can flood in.

Uig is a pretty friendly village with good local services and from here guests can explore on foot or take the car up the hill and around the famous 'hairpin bend' continuing on a tour of the Trotternish Peninsula with its rugged coastline and amazing wildlife.

The island is deceptively large with a big coastline and there are lots of villages, castles and coves to be explored.

At the end of a busy day why not take advantage of the lovely garden with its strategically placed seating areas looking right out to sea?

Watch the ferry as it crosses between the islands and perhaps take a trip to the Western Isles yourself!

A delightful apartment to call home with so much to see and do within this part of the island.

This property is near to Ref 12666, together they sleep 12.

About the location

UIG

Portree 15 miles.

The village of Uig (pronounced "Oo-ig"), at the northern tip of Skye, rests on the shores of Loch Snizort, Skye’s largest sea loch off the Atlantic. The village boasts two pubs, two shops, a hotel, a filling station and cafe, as well as two other businesses well-worth a visit. Uig Pottery sells a range of high quality pottery produced on-site, while the Skye Brewery sells its own superb real ales from the brewery shop. Sheltered by high cliffs, the bay is one of the most beautiful in Skye, and is home to the ferry terminal for the Outer Hebrides. Wildlife in the area includes golden eagles, sea eagles, pilot whales, seals and dolphins. The attractions of the Isle, including the main town of Portree, are all within easy reach of this tranquil base.
