  • "A beautiful cottage with stunning views."

This was by far the best cottage we’ve ever stayed in. The welcome pack was outstanding M&S Chocolate cake, biscuits, bread, eggs, milk, butter, jams etc. (M&S food hall is in Fort William.) Half of the things you generally take were not needed as they were already provided, even the dogs were catered for with treats and even a dog towel for muddy paws. Hose pipe in the garden to rinse dogs off if needed too. Cottage immaculately clean, super comfy beds, soft fluffy towels, cuddly sofas and a kitchen that wants for nothing equipment wise. Even sandwich bags and food containers for picnics were in the cupboards. Garden is fully dog proof and our two Lhasa’s loved it. Bird feeders fully stocked by Sue and had a plethora of birds visit on mass, even a Woodpecker called numerous times a day! Sue called in to welcome us and is just up the road if needed. She also sells freshly laid hen and duck eggs from her drive so take some bacon. Local Spar in Spean Bridge was a godsend although we did get a Morrisons delivery to cottage the morning after we arrived. Eating out was tricky as everything local was packed or closed (Bridge cafe was never open.) Fort William was only 10 miles away and had everything. Thank you to Sue for a beautiful cottage which made our visit to Scotland one we won’t forget for a long time.

Never got tired of just sitting and looking at the view! That and all the birds on the feeders and the red squirrel we saw a couple of times. It is without doubt the best equipped and most nicely furnished holiday cottage we have ever stayed in and perfectly clean.

Everything you could ever need for your stay is provided, even a fabulous welcome basket, including things for your dog!! I couldn't fault the cottage or the area, it is a truly beautiful place and provided a much-needed holiday for us all. So much to see and do in the area too. Sue and her daughter Amy were very helpful and even filled up all the bird feeders part way through the week which was brilliant. My favourite part was waking up before everyone and taking my coffee out to the rocking chair on the veranda and watching/listening to the birds and the red squirrel that frequented the garden. Hope to be back soon and we will certainly be recommending Spinnyfield to our friends and family!

The cottage had everything we needed and more. It was immaculate and very well appointed - nothing had been missed. The welcome pack was above and beyond - both for us and our dog ! Sue was friendly and welcoming and it was nice to know she was just down the road if we needed anything. The location was quiet and peaceful - just what had hoped for. Breakfast on the veranda was a real treat. We spent hours taking in the views and watching the birds on the feeders - never needing to switch on the TV !!! Highly recommended - we hope to return one day.

In addition, the thought and care that has gone into every detail is amazing. There are only two small things that we, spoiled as we were, wish; we missed the homemade welcome cake, although we understand the reasons why and the owners had gone more than the extra mile to make up for it- eggs, bread, wine and more, their home cooked cake from our first visit is still a legend in our house. The other thing, as we came in a wet week, was someway of speedily drying wet gear from hill walking... But they are small things and we will be back.

The views from the garden are incredible and the numerous bird feeders enable you to embrace the beauty around you and immerse yourself and as this was just when the Corona virus hit the news to change everyone's lives it was a great escape. Saying that because of announcements we curtailed our holiday and thought it best to head home. Every detail and thought has been put into this place and it really shows. The owner Sue made us feel right at home, showed us around the heating and had made a cake for us on arrival with wine and treats for the dog. So many bits to make us feel at home, the kitchen is so well equipped we didn't bother to eat out. The location of the cottage is easy to find and easy to get to. Friendly neighbours and a very peaceful place to be. The enclosed garden was great for our dog and it was very much appreciated as she could wander. The location is perfect for Ben Nevis / Fort William, it also lends itself to the nearby national parks and in fairness Inverness and Oban aren't that far away. Beautiful roads and scenery means that even on a grey day its impressive. • "Gorgeous cottage in a lovely location."

Very convenient for a lot of local walks, munros, and Fort William for a bit of shopping or somewhere to eat. The view from the cottage is stunning and with a covered balcony and large windows, we were able to enjoy it whatever the weather. There is underfloor heating for a steady temperature, but a log burning stove (supplies provided) for that evening boost. But that did mean limited places to dry washing when we got wet on the hills and needed dry kit for the following day. The enclosed garden was great - our 2 border terriers loved it and it was secure enough for them. A concerted escape artist could wriggle under the wire fence in a couple of places, but ours showed no such interest. Beware there are wood floors throughout, which our two found very slippy (they're used to carpet). There was a field of sheep one garden over behind thin woodland, so again, a highly driven hunter might show a lot of interest. These definitely aren't complaints, just factors to be aware of if you are bringing a dog with you. The place was incredibly clean and well-stocked. The bed was exceptionally comfortable and the surrounding peace and quiet was lovely. We made use of the small selection of games and books for evening entertainment. The TV doesn't receive many terrestrial channels, but there is a smart TV that has Netflix and access to the internet, so we were able to access a lot of options that way. A gorgeous batch of home-baked cakes met us on arrival, as well as freshly-laid eggs. We had a thoroughly lovely week and would happily come back time and again.

  • "We were absolutely blown away by the Cottage and have rebooked it for longer for next year!"

The Cottage was as described and extremely comfortable, the views from the cottage were amazing and the seeing the wildlife was the cherry on the top. The cottage is perfectly placed for access to all areas of the Highlands. We cannot wait to return.
