Property was clean with everything you needed for your stay. The owner was very accommodating in a request and query we made prior to our stay and replied promptly. The only issue we had was that the double bed was very uncomfortable and could do with a better mattress however, we would return again in the future. Check out the books, the owner has great taste. Well worth the money. Reviewed by EllaOct 2020 "Cottage was really clean and very comfortable." Loved the wood burning stove and very warm. Can’t wait to go back Views beautiful. Just idyllic. Owners very helpful Reviewed by FrancineSep 2020 "We had a great holiday on Skye." The cottage was comfortable, it was great to combine with the other cottage just across the road for our two families. The owner of the cottage even went above and beyond to provide us a bbq for us to use during our stay. Many thanks. We had an amazing week. Location was perfect for day trips around the island. Reviewed by EladAug 2020 "Good location, great with enclosed garden for dog and good walks from the cottage." Kitchen well equipped and nice that owner left tea and coffee and biscuits . Downside was the musty smell throughout and the bathroom could do with being modernised for the price we paid . Double bed was quite uncomfortable and would expect a better quality for the price that was paid for the week. Holiday was great as it was our first visit to Skye and there was so much outdoor exploring to be done. Will be back Reviewed by PhillipJul 2020 "A lovley cottage in a great landscape." It was wonderful, amazing, to spent my holiday in this beautiful area. Quiet and peaceful. Thank you for this Reviewed by FrankMar 2020 "The location was amazing, about 20-30 mins drive for nearest town and shops, close to a few nice places to visit, all within 45 min." The cottage was very clean, warm and was lovely to stay. Iain the owner was very nice and brought us more wood for the fire. if you are looking for a nice relaxing stay, amazing views, nice place to relax in the evening by the fire this is the place. Reviewed by ScottJan 2020 "The cottage had a really strong musty and doggy smell." The microwave was rusty inside and the cooker was filthy inside as was the toaster. The television wasn’t working properly so I tried to contact the owner to find out if he knew there was a problem with it and also to tell him about the microwave and the terrible smell. He didn’t answer so Sunday I phoned Sykes and he then did make contact when they had spoken to him. He came out to see for himself acknowledged there was a very strong dog smell but put that down to the wet weather and there had been 2 dogs in previously. He said he would replace the microwave and toaster and bring us some candles which he did later that day when he brought air fresheners. He fiddled with the back of the tv and said some leads were loose and the tv then worked. We tried to put up with the smell but by Tuesday decided to call it a day. We were terribly disappointed as we had so looked forward to visiting Skye and had spent a week in Oban the week before at a wonderful clean bungalow called Callinish which is also dog friendly. Reviewed by ChristinaSep 2019 "Schöne Lage sauber sehr gemütlich" Reviewed by JochenAug 2019 "Cottage was fine and comfortable and the garden was perfect for the dogs." Only issue we had was the cottage is listed as having access to a boat for fishing. My hubby and 2 kids were looking forward to doing some fishing but the boat was completely submerged in the boat house. Maybe an idea to take out of description unless willing to replacing the boat. Reviewed by DonnaJul 2019 "This is an ideal place for anybody looking for peace and quiet." The island itself is stunning and one of a kind. The views from the windows are jaw dropping. We felt better than at home and would love to revisit one day. Hubby had a good hour or two alone fly fishing being very careful to take the bucket to bale out!! Also it would have been nice to have had life jackets? we would have bought our own if we had known. The location was wonderful fantastic walking and exploring lovely fenced garden for the dog a big asset ! Cottage was very clean the only thing was the wifi - it was useless as was the signal for mobile but honestly that was NOT really a problem. One other thing, not a complaint - just a note- we have in the past, had many cottages in Scotland that leave a small welcome pack - which is nice when you arrive - especially when its in an isolated location. We will be coming back to Skye because our daughter lives there and we would consider coming to Florin Cottage again :-) Reviewed by KathyMay 2019 "We loved Florin Cottage." The location is beautiful! The cottage is clean and well-equipped. We enjoyed our stay. Reviewed by RebeccaJun 2018 "Had a brilliant holiday in a wonderful location." Didn't want to leave. Reviewed by CatherineJan 2018 "We had to e-mail (no phone signal in the cottage) the emergency contact to report that the oven was extremely dirty and that the door did not close and therefore unusable." The frying pan was unusable - due to appearing to have been burnt. The freezer compartment in the fridge was impacted with ice and badly in need of defrosting, unfortunately we had done a full shop on the way to the cottage and therefore had no choice but to use the fridge. There was no chopping board. The people managing the property responded immediately and within a few days they had installed a new cooker and a new frying pan and chopping board. They also gave us two bottles of wine for the inconvenience. The property could do with new pans and also a new mattress for the double bed. The springs were prominent and the mattress was very soft. The DVD controller was also missing. If these little problems were attended to, then we would not hesitate in booking this property again. The main reason for this holiday was to get away from fireworks due to our little dog being terrified of them. It was a great success as we did not hear one firework the whole time we were there Reviewed by JaniceNov 2017 "Lovely, spacious property equipped with almost everything you could need & in a gorgeous location - even better than it looked in the photos!" The only thing that could make it better would be the inclusion of a telephone/internet connection, as it is in a very remote area where mobile phone reception is non-existent (while it's nice to be cut off to some extent, it meant we weren't able to contact restaurants for reservations before going out and I did worry what might happen if an emergency arose!). Otherwise, perfect & would recommend. Reviewed by LouiseOct 2016 "Stayed for a week, could have easily have stayed for 2 though." Cottage was very comfortable and homely.
