“Great cottage in a beautiful location - Beautiful wooden cottage in the middle of wildlife (saw loads of birds and deers behind the house).”

It's very peaceful so exactly what we needed after a crazy COVID year!

It's very peaceful so exactly what we needed after a crazy COVID year! Strathcarron is beautiful and this is a perfect location to visit Wester Ross. We had wifi issue however the owner was very quick in replying and finding a solution for us. The only downside would be that the curtain are very thin so if you are a light sleeper you might wake up very early , especially over the summer.

This cosy, detached log cabin is situated in an elevated position near Lochcarron, where far-reaching loch and mountain views can be appreciated.

The log cabin has three good-sized bedrooms, a well-equipped kitchen and a large living/dining room where guests can relax at the end of a busy day.

A door from the sitting room gives easy access to the patio area which is a lovely spot from which to fully appreciate the stunning views.

The sloping garden is mainly lawned and is child friendly.

Lochcarron is an ideal location for visitors who enjoy walking and wildlife spotting, so make sure you never leave home without your camera!

Close to the amenities of this pretty coastal village, guests will appreciate the lovely walk down the brae to the village shop and other services.

For those who want to tour the magical west coast there are a handful of pretty villages and quiet beaches, as well as high towering mountains for those who are a bit more energetic.

A short drive away is the bustling village of Kyle of Lochalsh, providing enhanced shopping facilities.

Kyle is also the gateway to the Skye Bridge and this toll-free bridge gives easy access to the most famous of the Inner Hebridean Islands and is well worth a visit.

About the location

Plockton 18.6 miles; Dornie 21 miles; Torridon 22 miles.

Lochcarron runs along the north eastern shoreline of Loch Carron, an area of wonderful unspoilt beauty surrounded by mountains. The village attracts many visitors and has good local services including hotels, shops and a petrol station. There is also a golf course that borders the shoreline of the loch and it is home to the famous Lochcarron of Scotland, the world’s leading manufacturers of tartan. From Lochcarron you can easily access the Applecross Peninsula by taking the famous Bealach na Ba mountain pass road, not the easiest of journeys but the views from this route are unforgettable and well worth the journey. The central location of the village means that access to such places as Skye, Plockton and Torridon is very easy.
