“This was our 2nd holiday in Kylerhea and it was just as lovely as our first, Beautiful cottage that had everything we needed and it's in a lovely setting.”

We watched the seals basking on the rocks, while others were bobbing up and down in the water so lovely, Apart from the birds singing the area is so peaceful it was sheer bliss, although the weather was a mixed bag it didn't keep us in, Thank you to the owners of the cottage for making it available to us, a lovely bottle of wine and chocolates were left for us thank you. We have taken away with us wonderful memories of a lovely holiday. Thank you Shona Dave and Bella

The property

Broadford 10 miles.

A nicely presented, detached stone cottage, occupying a stunning seaside location surrounded by mountains in the small village of Kylerhea on the Isle of Skye.

This Isle of Skye cottage looks out across the Kylerhea Straits and over to the village of Glenelg on the mainland, and both communities are connected by the last manually operated turntable ferry in Scotland, a short but exciting journey.

This Isle of Skye cottage would suit a couple who really want to savour the spectacular scenery and unforgettable wildlife to be found in this remote Highland community.

Well-appointed throughout and offering accommodation all on the ground floor level, this Skye cottage has a double bedroom with views out to sea, a modern cottage-style kitchen and a cosy sitting room with warming woodburning stove and further views of the sea and mountains.

Outside your Skye cottage is a lawned garden, and the only sounds to be heard are the lapping of the waves and the snorting of the seals!

The Otter Haven Hide is close to your Skye cottage and offers superb scenery and the chance to spot otters, seals and other wildlife.

Guests may wish to travel inland and explore the beautiful Isle of Skye with its pretty villages and vibrant capital town of Portree, offering excellent shopping opportunities, or, why not cross the Skye Bridge and explore the village of Plockton and the romantic Eilean Donan Castle?

This Kylerhea holiday cottage is a great base from which to discover this scenic part of the Isle of Skye.

About the location

BROADFORD

Portree 29 miles.

Skye's second largest village, Broadford lies in the shadow of the Red Cuillins and spreads itself along the southern side of Broadford Bay. Views extend out to the Isle of Pabay and more distantly to the Applecross mountains on the mainland. The village caters well for the tourists with shops, hotels and colourful craft stalls. Close by is the little village of Elgol, which enjoys 'the finest view in Britain' - the end of the Cuillin Ridge seen across Loch Scavaig. From Elgol pier take an unforgettable boat trip to Loch Coruisk in the heart of Cullin Mountain Range. The nearby Sleat Peninsula known as the 'Garden of Skye' has many attractions and a ferry link to the mainland - Armadale to Mallaig.
