  • "Excellent property in an Idyllic setting, with all the amenities."

Just off the A82 road and still provides beautiful view all around with mountains and is located behind a sheep farm, secluded with its own gated area. Stayed here for a week and really enjoyed the stay, a memorable one.

Spacious and comfortable for a family of 4. Ideal for access to both Fort William and Fort Augustus. Surrounding area fabulous. Would definitely stay again. Thanks

  • "We thought the pictures did not do the cottage justice, the rooms were larger than we thought."

Lovely location with walks close by, and views of hills from the cottage were amazing. Snow topped mountains close by too. We really enjoyed our week and had some great walks, the highlight being a visit to Loch Tarff on a clear sunny day.

  • "Rowan Bank is an absolute gem."

It's perfect location, rolling Highland backdrop, and comfy clean feel make it a very special place to stay. Rowan Bank is a wonderful base for exploring and really is a home away from home. The view from the kitchen is exceptional and looks out towards beautiful woodland, where you can watch all kinds of wildlife, and everything you can think of is provided so there's no need to panic. The bathroom is the perfect size to relax and do what you need, and has a magnificent power shower that's perfect after a long walk in the cold. The two bedrooms are a great size, the double bed is especially comfortable, plus a hairdryer is provided which was such a relief. The living room is positioned perfectly and its dual aspect looks out over continuous fields, hills and trees, which is extremely relaxing. The neighbouring sheep are a welcoming daily site too. The living room is large and has very comfortable chairs and settees, and the TV has the choice of an Amazon firestick or normal catchup and free view. Rowan Bank sits within Spean Bridge village which offers a huge amount from the doorstep, and if you want to venture further afield there are lots of things to see and do, not to mention some tasty eateries along the way. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Rowan Bank and even had the pleasure of meeting one of the owners, who was such a kind and friendly man, we felt like we could have chatted to him all day. We will certainly book again and thank the owners and their family for having us. We'd thoroughly recommend Rowan Bank and everything it has to offer as its such a special place, owned by special people.

The house has everything we needed and was a great base for exploring the highlands. The family owners were very helpful and did everything to make our stay comfortable. Our young children will never forget our special ‘Scotland house’, thank you for a great holiday.

  • "Wonderful cottage!"

Fantastic view, splendidly isolated with a big garden. Cottage very well appointed with everything we needed, in immaculate condition. Owner provided welcome supply of teas, coffees, biscuits, dishwasher tablets, etc. Location superb for visiting Fort William, Ben Nevis, Loch Ness, Glenfinnan Viaduct, Commando Memorial, Glencoe and more. We booked white water rafting and canyoning with Active Highs, literally 30 seconds drive from the cottage. Eagle Barge Inn also 5 minutes walk for a pint and superb food. The Caledonian Way (cycle path NCN 78) just over the main road - about 300 yards cycle on the A83 and you're there. Cottage warm and cosy. TV signal a bit patchy but who cares? you don't come on holiday to watch TV! The Wi-Fi is fast too (38mbps+). Nearest stores are the Invergarry garage (5 mins drive) and Spean Bridge (10-12 minutes). Fort Augustus c 15 minutes away too. Owner very helpful. We mislaid our key 2 days in and she was right round with the spare (thankfully found the original!). We booked late and didn't expect to find a gem like this at such short notice but we had a fantastic week and highly recommend Rowan Bank. Thanks Eilidh!
