  • "Had a brilliant time here at Ailsa cottage, perfect location for a peaceful break,, everything you need is included in this clean cosy cottage, beautiful scenery plenty options for walks from the front door."

. hills and woodland to the rear and the Caledonian canal is within easy reach too. Central location for the usual tourist attractions. Spent my birthday here with the family and “Star” our Labrador.. we are already thinking about booking up for next year! Loved it thanks so much.

  • "Rear bedrooms smelt very musty and bathroom showed signs of mould adjacent to bathroom window."

Main front bedroom was fine and living room also. It is important to state that the property is situated off the busy A82 and near the Caledonian canal but there is no footpath to escort you safely to the canal along the road - tricky with fast traffic. Kitchen was well appointed but some appliances poorly positioned - easy to bang doors when opening. We also had an unfortunate incident with a rodent eating through an engine fuel pipe which caused a breakdown in Fort William but these things do happen I’m told.

There was a water leak in the roof during this rental which is what caused a damp smell for a short period. If we had been told of this during the rental we could have actioned the repair quicker, instead it was discovered during the end of rental clean. The mould you mention on the bathroom wall is caused by people not opening the window when showering/bathing. The description of the property in relation to the road is clear from the website. There is also a welcome pack in the cottage which gives guests directions to the nearest footpaths, the closest of which is a short drive from the property. I have no comment on the fuel pipe damage other than to strongly refute any suggestions there are rodents present. Damage to the fuel pipe could have happened anywhere. Property Owner

  • "Aisla Cottage is an absolute gem in the beautiful Highlands."

The cottage is as gorgeous as it looks in the photos. It had everything we needed and more. A lovely secure garden for my dog, which was important for me. Comfy beds and a lounge that was a joy to sit in after a day exploring the beautiful area. Lots of local walks, Loch Ness virtually on the doorstep, Forte Augustus was lovely and we did the 4 mile walk along the canal for Oick Bridge. Glenfinnen Viaduct was 20 mins away with lovely walks underneath it. We even ventured over to the Isle of Skye (90 mins drive) through the most amazing scenery. I cannot recommend this cottage highly enough. I will definitely be re-booking. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Thank you Alex for such a wonderful review , so glad you enjoyed my wee cottage. Welcome back anytime Property Owner

We also enjoyed the luxury of the large bath. You can park your car securely beside/behind the cottage and the back & front garden are safe to let your dog out. Good central location for exploring further afield which we did. Welcome pack gratefully received! Thank you for your hospitality.

  • "The owner provided us with a fantastic welcome."

Biscuits, coffee, milk and even dog treats. The cottage was immaculate and spotless. Very well equipped and tastefully decorated. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The scenery was amazing and the view from the top of hill at rear was breathtaking. Very peaceful and a great base to tour the Highlands from. The owner had contacted me saying they had issues with TV reception at the moment but advised how we could access Live TV through the internet enabled Tv. Which was helpful. Would highly recommend this cottage.

  • "The cottage is located in a fantastic place, just by A82 between Loch Lochy and Loch Oich."

The cottage itself was well presented and it was spotlessly clean. The owner had provided all the basic things that we need like cookies, biscuits, tea, coffee and even a can of milk. The cottage was nice and cozy with a beautiful living room and 3 bedrooms. All the major places in the scottish highlands can be easily visited from the cottage. Also the cottage offers breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Ailsa cottage and will definitely visit again.
