The Cabin was excellent, very clean and tidy and all that we needed. Superb views. Couldn't be better

  • "What a lovely situation and a delightful Cabin."

Very warm very comfortable and the picture window is just a joy to sit at and watch the birds and the pine martin which comes each evening. The view over the Five Sisters is majestic. The only downside to Scottish Highlands are the roads/potholes. Do not travel with low profile tyres it makes for difficulty/tiring driving whilst trying to avoid them.

  • "The cottage was absolutely wonderful and, as others have said, is the best holiday cottage we have ever stayed in."

The views and wildlife are simply unbeatable and the cottage is perfectly situated and very quiet with no near (human) neighbours, very clean and comfortable and has everything you could need. The region is the best in the U.K. and it was so nice to live alongside people who take Covid seriously and don’t panic buy fuel! Unfortunately the same cannot be said for Sykes who were unable to answer a question, got their wires crossed, and send so much email spam (every day) that means we would book The Cabin again in a heartbeat but unlikely to book another cottage through Sykes.

The views are fantastic. Watched otters, porpoises, badgers and pine martins nearly every day. Not to mention the birds visiting daily. What a fantastic place to chill and watch the wildlife. Lots of places to visit also. The cottage had everything you needed and was really comfortable and relaxing.

However the aggressive nature of the email received from Sykes when you wanted my final £16 pounds was appalling. This was a holiday held over from last year and I had already paid in full and the £16 was your price increase. It is not that I am complaining about the increase just the way it was requested. Firstly without warning on 3rd April you attempted to take the £16 from a card that was no longer in use. On that date I was away from home and unable to do anything about it. On the 4th April you sent an aggressive email telling me my holiday would be cancelled if I didn’t pay immediately. Fortunately I was then back at home and made the final payment. I was and am appalled by your approach. I generally book 2 or 3 cottages a year through various companies and will avoid using Sykes in the future. I would welcome your comments on the above.

There was everthing we needed at the Cabin so there was no problems there. The place has amazing views across the loch from the picture window and has plenty of wildlife, everynight we saw pine martins, badgers that came right up to the window sill and one evening even a red deer came into the garden, which was fantastic. There is alot to do in the local area, the isle of skye which is lovely and loch ness is only forty miles away, well worth a visit. the nearest supermarket is 15 miles away but has all you need if you want to cook at home, there are a few places to eat out, but not many close by, but they are nice. All in all had a great stay at the Cabin and the owners are very helpful and gave us alot of good advice which helped us alot finding our way around, I would recommend this place to all who are looking for a peaceful stay in the beautiful highlands fo scotland, such a pretty place. I would not hesitate to return to the Cabin one day as I know i will not be dissapointed, I will definiatly be back there one day if I can, thankyou to Janice the owner for a great stay.

The property was very comfortable and had everything we needed, but it was the location that made it truly spectacular. The view from The Cabin is lovely and something we never tired of. We especially enjoyed the nightly visits from the Pine Martens and the Badger as we watched them as they came right up to the big picture window. There are some lovely walks close to the property and we enjoyed visiting Eilean Donan Castle. We would definitely recommend The Cabin, especially if you are looking for a peaceful and relaxing break.

The Cabin is just so gorgeous and set in a very beautiful location, even in Winter! The wildlife that visits the gorgeous garden will blow you away and if it doesn't then you are not a nature lover! The resident Pine Marten loves Battenburg cake or anything sweet and will take it from the picnic table or even the bench that is situated right in front of the large picture window! Spotted Woodpeckers,Chaffinches,Green Finches and Robins galore as well as many other varieties of birds and even spotted a Seal in the Loch! Accommodation is great, lovely comfortable bed, fantastic views of the 5 Sisters mountains and Loch Duich as well as Eilean Donan Castle lit up every evening. The Cabin gets nice and cosy with the storage heaters and there was a welcome pack for us upon our arrival of a loaf of seeded bread, package of Scottish Shortbread biscuits and even hand made Ginger bone shaped biscuits for our dog.Plenty of room for 2 adults and a well behaved dog,our dog loved laying on his large bed in our room each night, sound asleep, never moved, and he had lovely walks every day and loved it. We recommend visiting nearby Isle of Skye,so much to do and see there it is amazing, and the little craft-antique shop at Kintail, great bargains to be had there! also visit Chocolates of Glenshiel, you will be given a taster by Finlay and then you won't be able to resist but to buy some, they are delicious!! lots of Deer and Stags too and people are really friendly around and about, although you don't see many nor get much traffic! All in all a peaceful and relaxing holiday in the most amazing location in a lovely, beautiful place!! PS we love the added bonus of the porch over the back door with a seat and coat hangers, fantastic for taking off muddy-wet boots and clothing and wiping your pet down prior to entering the Cabin, well done! we will be booking again!! thank you so much for a wonderful holiday!! x

I wrongly assumed there was WiFi with it saying they had sky tv. Husband was a bit disappointed as he’d taken his new music system which he couldn’t play without WiFi. The Cabin was rather dated and could have done with redecoration in our opinion, as it was quite a price for two weeks! When we met the owner, he was charming and we couldn’t have complained at all. The wildlife was an absolute pleasure, watching pine martens and badger from the front window! A very magical holiday.
