  • "Have stayed in many holiday cottages with Sykes cottages and all have been fab, this one unfortunately wasn’t."

Very old, dated and tired inside. The property itself was nice but smelt really bad in a few of the rooms we couldn’t sleep in them. Also the mould in the downstairs bathroom was very bad. Never seen it that bad before. Beds uncomfortable and need renewing. Both now suffering bad backs. Kitchen very old and not a lot worked. Ignition broken, grill doesn’t work. No baking trays. Sink was filthy. All windows were filthy and inside walls were very dirty too. Windows were also broken and we couldn’t open them which isn’t great in summer when the house smelt of mould. Couldn’t wash my hair in the bath as the mixer tap was broken, didn’t want to use the shower room to wash my hair as the smell and mould was so bad. The whole place needs a really really deep clean but better still gutting it and starting again with windows that work would be better. Really disappointed with Skye’s on this one.

  • "I would like to send you photographs of what the cottage was like if you can tell me how I can do this please?"

The situation and size was perfect for what we wanted and the kitchen was well equipped Other than that it was a total disappointment. I cannot believe that anyone from your organisation has ever visited this place. It was filthy and seriously needed work done. I look forward to your reply. - I did try and follow the 'complaints procedure' - call then press 3 then 3 again but this didn't work. Rgds Maggie Winterborn

  • "The location was wonderful, the view was amazing, and the house was even better than described!"

5 bedrooms with 3 bathrooms, TWO of which are accessible. (One person in our party is in a wheelchair and cannot walk.) I would greatly recommend having a shower seat (or two—one for each accessible bathroom) available. We had to improvise for my friend to be able to take a shower. The toilet seats were also quite low for someone in a wheelchair. Otherwise, the house was perfect and we would happily stay again and recommend it to our friends!! Thank you!!

  • "We had a fantastic week away on the Isle of Lewis and Harris."

This holiday home was in a great location for exploring the entirety of the island. The home is very well equipped with kitchen utilities and utensils; the heating worked really well so the home was warm after a long day exploring. Would definitely recommend this holiday home.
