“A very well equipped and spacious home from home.”

The gale of wind and torrential rain on the day didn't detract from the comfort of the house. In a great location with nearby top quality restaurant and other local amenities.

The property

This very spacious detached house occupies a quiet location in the popular village of Dunvegan on the magical Isle of Skye.

Mill Cottage is perfectly situated to allow guests easy access to the local shops, hotels and restaurants in the village.

With roomy accommodation over two floors there are 4 bedrooms in total, with one at ground floor level.

The space in the house means that there are two sitting rooms both with comfy seating and TVs, ideal if the children want their own space!

The very well equipped kitchen is open to a lovely bright dining room that overlooks the rear garden and guests will be able to enjoy home cooked meals around the big table together whilst chatting about the day’s events.

There is a private garden to the rear, a perfect spot for BBQ in the warmer weather and you are within easy walking distance of a very good local restaurant.

Dunvegan of course attracts many visitors, due to the attraction of the famous Dunvegan Castle with its stunning gardens.

However, the whole Island is beautiful with its rugged indented coastline, mountainous cliffs and great wildlife.

Why not visit the local distillery at Talisker, enjoy a dram and shop for some gifts to take home.

The Cuillin Mountain range dominates the Island and there are fantastic walking routes into the heart of the mountains and of course up to the top if you are that way inclined!

You will certainly enjoy the comfort and homely ambience of Mill Cottage and the magic of this Island.

About the location

DUNVEGAN

Portree 22 miles.

The village of Dunvegan is set in the north west of Skye and contains a mixture of traditional stone and modern houses, along with a selection of shops and hotels. About a mile from the village is Dunvegan Castle, home to the Clan MacLeod, who have continuously occupied the castle since the 13th century. Only four miles away is the famous Three Chimneys Restaurant, a must for all foodies, and just a 10 minute walk away is the very popular Old School Restaurant, also worth a visit. Also in the area are the Cullin Mountains with their fantastic rock forms and pinnacles, which many climbers would put at the top of their list. Other attractions on the Isle are plentiful - visit the Talisker Distillery or Portree, the island’s only town, set around its natural harbour, which boasts an excellent range of shops, hotels and restaurants, and also offers Sea Eagle trips from the pier, which are extremely popular.
