The location is perfect for exploring east, west, north and south Highlands as well as staying in the beautiful Glen itself. We felt so at home in the cottage which had everything we needed as well as exceptional views. Unbeatable!

  • "Beautiful cottage in a lovely peaceful setting."

It was a real home from home, with everything we needed for a family holiday. Waking up to such stunning scenery and seeing red deer from the kitchen window each day rounded it off.

  • "Lovely cottage in a beautiful glen."

Quite a long drive into the glen to the cottage but we’ll worth the wonderful views - deers came up to the back garden fence every evening! Our dogs were made very welcome with dog bowls, beds, dog biscuits etc. Can’t fault it, absolutely wonderful

  • "An absolutely beautiful location and well kept property."

The additions of a dog bed and freshly cut flowers from the garden in the bathroom made it particularly homely and welcoming. Being able to watch the deer herd from the house and garden was wonderful. We had a thoroughly enjoyable week.

  • "The cottage is a fantastic retreat for anyone looking to get away from it all."

The owners stay just along the road and have done everything possible to make it feel like a home and not just a holiday let. From before arriving the level of detail in the welcome email was fantastic and there was almost instant responses to my various questions before arrival. Upon arrival we were greeted with a sense of homeliness with the welcome pack for us and the dogs. The inside is great and the outside even better. They really have thought of everything even down to games, jigsaws and a good collection of books. There are a ton of local walks to do if you don't want to drive a lot. It is 25 minutes drive back to the main road again but we got used to it and there is some fantastic scenery to look at on the way. We did a mixture of both and used it as a good base to explore some of the N500 route. The neighbours were friendly and gave good local advice as well. The wildlife in the area will not be beaten and it is a perfect place to escape to. Even though it is so remote it is still well connected if you need to get online

  • "What a jewel in the Highlands the welcome pack was a lovely thiught and unexpected for ourselves and a box of biscuits for the dogs the cottage must be the cleanest and loveliest we have booked through Sykes."

It is highly recommend to book here also the scenery and wildlife on the doorstep is stunning and unbelievable. We met out landlords on the 1st day out a walk and were very lovely and friendly. The facilities in the cottage were more than expected nice new kitchen and a power shower after long walks was great plus a great sleep in the comfy beds. A massive thanks to John & christina and Good luck for the rest of the season ahead after a horrible year in the hospitality section.

  • "The welcome pack was unexpected but very welcome!"

    - Yummy shortbread and fudge and even the dogs were looked after. This accomodation was booked last minute as our original booking was cancelled, and we were disappointed when our we were let down by another provider. However, 3 Strathanmore didn't disappoint. We enjoyed our stay in Strathconnon. The weather wasn't very kind to us there, but when we got out and about we did manage to escape the rain. Stunning wildlife and scenery from the door and there were plenty of walks if you wanted to be active, but we were there to chill. DVD player was well used in the evenings with our The Monarch of the Glen box set - just a bit more escapism! We've never been so aware of the Red Stag rut as we were here. The awesome sound of the stags, especially at night. We saw a red squirrel at next doos peanut feeder and some on the 'run' playing 'chicken' in front of our car when we were out. The spectacular waterfalls, autumnal scenery and beautiful colours will make this a wonderful memory in years go come. Along with the cosy, comfortable accommodation. This truly was a get away from it all experience. I'm sure we will return life permitting. Thanks for letting us stay.

  • "Absolutely no issues with the property, even the wildlife played the game, even the information on the route into the property was accurate, it is a little nerve racking on the journey in and out, The locals were very friendly, one neighbour in particular who went out his way to give Us a programme of visits, including routes, which really added to our holiday experience."

I would certainly recommend this venue, just be ready for that journey in and out, it’s a long way, day in day out.

About the location

STRATHCONON

Marybank 13 miles; Muir of Ord 17 miles.

Strathconon is well placed for Ben Wyvis, and has great walks to remember! There is a wealth of wildlife in the area including polecats, red squirrels and stoats. The area is fantastic for bird watchers, in the location there are peregrine falcon, red kite, golden eagle, green woodpecker, siskins and treecreepers. From Inverness harbour there are boat trips on the Moray Firth to see one of the local dolphin pods, if you are in Rosemarkie you can also look out from the point as that is a good dolphin spotting area. Less easy to spot is the Loch Ness monster, but there are boat trips just south of Inverness where you can try your luck. There is a children’s play area at Drumnadrochit which can be driven to via the scenic route through Cannich, and the closest public swimming pools are in Dingwall and Inverness - the Inverness facility is larger with both leisure and swimming pools, the Dingwall pool is well worth the visit and the ice skating rink is near the Inverness pool.
