  ! Even though at 1st we could not find out the mechanics for the main and back door which is the only problem in the accomodation, we found it in the end and had enjoyed living inside.

• "We loved our week at Oak Cottage- the views across to Ben Nevis are spectacular The location is great - it’s a 10 minute drive (£14 taxi) into the town centre and a 20 minute walk to The Moorings Hotel (average bar food, lovely location for coffee/drinks beside Neptunes Staircase at the Caledonian Canal) 5 lovely big double bedrooms, well fitted out bathrooms."

  A radio in the kitchen and a pair of binoculars would be welcome additions. The second TV (downstairs) had a No Signal message displayed which the owner didn’t have looked at because he “was away “ our week. A couple of minor niggles which did not distract us from having a wonderful time in the beautiful property

• "Large, beautiful property with a stunning view of the Nevis Range."

  Conveniently located to Fort William. All amenities were thought of and well executed and the homeowner was very attentive and helpful. They were able to accommodate an early check-in for us which was incredibly helpful given our travels to get there. We enjoyed the property a lot and only wished we had stayed longer.

• "- the teflon pots and pans are no longer usable - the fireplace on the ground floor does not work (statement by caretaker) - The door on the upper floor of the small sleeping room does not remain locked and keeps opening - washing machine and dryer were totally dirty and stink despite our cleaning - sockets and more light in the bathrooms would be nice - keep spare batteries accessible."

  so we had to buy these for heating valves. caretaker had brought the wrong ones.

• "We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Oak Cottage."

  We were 3 generations and it gave us great space, storage, just about everything we needed to cook and eat. The large dining table was spot on. The Cottage is well furnished v comfortable and relaxing to stay in, with a variety of books. It is in a lovely place with ever changing views of Ben Nevis. It is a short drive to Fort William, an easy walk to Neptunes Staircase and good access to many other places of interest. The owner was in touch before during and after our visit, not in an intrusive way, simply checking that we had everything we needed, nice level of attention. Thank you Martin for providing such smashing accommodation.

• "Amazing location and lovely house for a large family to enjoy."

  Great Central location for visiting the area and owner contacted us before arrival and during stay to check all okay. The view from the upstairs lounge is quite something. Plenty of bathrooms, and main the bathroom on ground floor is very spacious. Ideal house for lovers of the great outdoors to provide the comfortable, homely base to tour the region.

  It would benefit from having a hand towel each rather than one per bathroom. Exta frying pan and scissors. Plus coasters for both sitting rooms and tables. The house was well equipped and easy to live in. Beautiful views from almost all windows of Ben Nevis. Very comfortable beds.

• "This Cottage is in a fabulous setting and location."

  The views of Nevis range are exceptional depending on the weather obviously but on a clear moment it's stunning. Neptune's staircase is at the end of the road and Fort William literally round the corner. The owner of the cottage is on hand via messaging or phone call with any advice on the area or issues with the cottage or just general questions regarding your stay, he is absolutely brilliant. All in all we had a fantastic week and will always return to the Highlands.

• "The views from this house were staggeringly beautiful, and made any other minor issues worth while."

  The kitchen was a bit under-equipped, the fridge was in poor state with no veg drawer. The owner had contacted us and apologised for the state of the downstairs bathroom floor, which we much appreciated. A lack of serving bowls, necessary in a party of 8. No light in downstairs en-suite. I think there were other things, but I cannot remember now, so they cannot have been that important. But these minor discomforts were more than compensated for by the magnificent views of Ben Nevis!

  Easy access by car to Fort William Clean and well equipped cottage - very spacious and comfortable ( only negative was no mirrors in Some bedrooms And in some of the bedrooms no wardrobes just a few draws so nowhere to hang clothes other than on hangers on a few coat hooks) But apart from this everything was spot on - we would definitely stay again and highly recommend Sykes and the cottage

  Enjoyed the facilities One cooker ovens did not work and the down stairs heater was out of order and it was quite cool over the spring bank holiday If the weather was better it would not have been a problem The upstairs room was wonderful and the views outstanding A few children’s board type games would help in poor weather Overall a nice place to stay

  It is located in a perfect place with beautiful views looking towards Ben Nevis. The cottage was spotlessly clean. The cottage is very comfortable especially the beds! We didn’t want to come home! The space in the cottage was perfect as there were 10 of us. I would highly recommend the cottage and if we did spend time in Fort William again I would definitely stay here. Thank you.

  Every bedroom was easily big enough and well furnished. The bathrooms were lovely and pretty spacious as well. Great kitchen and the dining room had a lovely big table which was perfect for us with room to spare. The views from the cottage were amazing (particularly from upstairs) with an uninterupted view right across to Ben Nevis. Really clean throughout Would not hesitate to stay there again.
