The property

This spacious cottage has a lovely village centre location and is just a short walk from the coast in the village of Poolewe, just six miles from Gairloch.

Ideal for a family or group of friends, this cottage is next to the owner's guest house and is a superb location for enjoying the wonderful west coast of Scotland.

Guests will be immediately impressed with the level of comfort, style and space in the cottage along with its close proximity to the coast and the river.

There are three sumptuous bedrooms, one at ground floor level and the two upper floor rooms both benefiting from en-suite facilities.

The stylish open plan living area has a very well-equipped kitchen and a dining area with French doors leading out to the garden.

The sitting area is just perfect for relaxation at the end of a busy day and on the warmer evenings a pre-dinner glass of wine in the garden with its view of the sea is to be recommended.

The local amenities are good and the village shop is a short walk.

There are many villages to visit along this dramatic and beautiful coastline with Gairloch being just 6 miles away.

It has a busy harbour from which boat trips can be taken to spot some fabulous wildlife both in the air and in the sea.

Just a short drive away is the wonderful Mellon Udrigle Beach with its white sands and far-reaching views, what a great place for a picnic.

This remote area of Scotland is a special place for a holiday and you can enjoy your vacation safe in the knowledge that you can return to this perfect cottage after a full day.

About the location

POOLEWE

Dingwall 50 miles; Ullapool 50 miles.

The pretty village of Poolewe sits in the shelter of Loch Ewe, at the mouth of the River Ewe where it tumbles down from Loch Maree. It is a pretty place in an area of spectacular scenery and is home to a well-stocked shop, small swimming pool and two hotels. The world-renowned Inverewe Garden (National Trust) is half a mile across the bay from the village. The site was developed by the botanist Osgood Mackenzie from 1862 until his death in 1922. Warmed by the Gulf Stream, it is home to exotic plants, imported from all over the world – a must for all visitors to the area. Firemore beach is five miles to the west and north along the coast is Gruinard Bay with its striking sands; a series of attractive beaches skirt the bay and a number are easily reached from the main road. With spectacular scenery, mountains, excellent hillwalking, golf, fishing, wildlife cruises and much more, this is a great area for a holiday!
