  • "Absolutely spotlessly clean and tidy, warm and spacious, perfect getaway location with stunning views."

Definitely one of the better properties we have visited for a short stay. Although only 2 of us stayed this property will sleep 6 easily without feeling cramped. Owners made themselves available should we have needed them, but everything was perfect without calling on them. Thanks for a much needed break

  • "This property is in a fantastic location."

Halfway between Portree and Broadford the 2 largest towns. It is only a few minutes walk from the ferry to Raasay which is well worth a visit if you like walking. location wise it's also ideal for visiting all parts of the island. The property has 3 good sized bedrooms with the main on the upper floor. The living room is also on the upper floor and has great views across the loch to the other side of the loch and Raasay in the distance with the added bonus of a spotter scope. The kitchen is large with a great sized cooker and plenty of ovens. Good shower temperature in the upstairs bathroom. We loved it so much we have booked again for next year.

It's well appointed and the Lounge being on the first floor makes enjoying the views even better. The owner Nikki (we didn't meet Hamish this week) is very friendly and helpful and whilst we didn't have any issues I'm sure they would have been dealt with promptly. Having never been been to Skye before we plumped for Sconser as it seemed quite central and as it turned out it's an ideal base for touring the Island as you can strike out North, South and West from here really easily plus a few miles up the road is the Sligachan Hotel which is a nice place to spend some time but also the start of some good walks and an attractive river location. All in all we were very pleased with our choice and would recommend MacKenzies Peak to friends or visit again ourselves if we revisit Skye.

  • "This was beautifully equipped accommodation, the kitchen so good we even enjoyed cooking a few meals on our holiday!"

To far unfortunately to walk to a pub meal, which we had hoped to do, but the weather was so poor we ended up doing hardly any walking at all, despite that being the reason for our trip. We did enjoy one great day of sun and went over to Rasaay which was so easy, with the ferry terminal just down the hill. You can't help the weather and (although we have been lucky with weather in Scotland in September before) we still enjoyed our stay, and may well be back!
